WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use RU-vids lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and RU-vid deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

Agreed! Casio is so far ahead of the curve for adding hand and date alignment functions to their modules. Its just such a excellent feature but I know Casio is kind of the king of the quartz game

I guess I’m unlucky because I have a Stainless Steel version of this class with half links on a different model, and I am unable to get just the right fit with the half links. Good to see that they’ve added a hardened coating to the titanium as the models I’ve had without that coding I’ve scratched very easily great looking watch… Found a vendor to order it from here in the US for $390 still looking to see if I can sharpen that price up a little bit… Thanks for the great review.

Great watch. I seem to have got the quartz bug lately. I've bought the Oceanus s100 and a CWC G10. I've had the G10 a month and it hasn't lost a single second yet.

Lol exactly the same with me ,when I started this collecting lark I hated quartz, but now I've got a watch box full of quartz sat aside the other two that's all automatic. Funny how your taste changes over quite a short period of time .cheers.

Doesn't it give you BIG MONEY vibes? Like, it's a proud Seiko Royal Oak Nautilus hodge bodge of pure class? Looks like it would have lume for days. Also the Nautilus 5711's long-running Caliber 324 SC automatic movement doesn't even hack! Talk about trying to keep accurate time? I'm a busy businessman and I got places to go, Jack. @@davemck1887

Seiko Astron JDM SBXY033 has a sunburst dial. Not s fan of white seconds needle on that watch though.

They’re dropping a stainless steel version of this for a little cheaper, the SBTM351. New hands and slightly different dial texture.

I own the SBTM339 blue version of this watch and absolutely love it. Unlike my Oceanus, it picks up the radio signal every night and is always spot on. I find the size and design, dial and hands far superior to the Oceanus as well. The blue is a lovely sunburst, almost denim blue, not too light, not too dark. For titanium it has a lovely bright polish, but is light enough to forget it's on. The Oceanus is long gone, and this Seiko is here to stay. As a dedicated quartz fan I have a couple of Citizen Chronomasters, and a couple of 9F Grand Seikos, and frankly the SBTM339 fits right in with those icons.

Cool watch. Looking at buying something similar, but still undecided. Two remarks, though: 1. There’s no off-centered text. Read the manual. 2. If you want the same (or close) in steel, check out the SBTM351.

This watch looks great, but for me, the dial looks a bit too empty and bland. Everything else though is amazing. I'm in the market for a titanium quartz that isn't a Casio or Citizen as I've never experienced a titanium watch before. Fingers crossed you find me another treasure Garry. 1:09 - I imagine it's been asked a million times already, but will someone please explain that wall clock. 60 indices like any other clock, but when the seconds hand hits 12, it sits there for two seconds. One second after it strikes 12, the minutes hand moves, then it waits one more second to move to the 1-second index. How it is not counting 61 seconds every minute?

There are a few nice Seikos still on my to get list (although the styles are probably polarizing design wise): Seiko Arnie, Seiko Flightmaster, Seiko Alpinist and Seiko Pogue.

Lack of adjustment? I suspect the titanium makes adjustment far less of an issue. EXCELLENT WATCH AND REVIEW. The Japanese save the best stuff for themselves 😅

I have a couple of JDM watches , so much better than over here . Some good watches that are only sold in Japan . And the second hand market is really good , they tell it like it is , and grade all the watches .So you know what you get . Only hassle is if you pay over £139 then you pay tax , but it is a well worth thing as the watches are so good .

The Casio Oceanus S100 is still the better choice. The watches are so similar in materials and movement that one has to wonder if they are not just badge engineered versions of the same watch. As for lume, the Oceanus S100 is actually still legible with dark adjusted vision after 12 hours. It doesn’t get better than that unless you are using Tritium or Radium dial markers.

Yeah, and the Oceanus will sync to your cell phone - radio tower sync is worthless on the Eastern US coast so the Seiko is neither corrected or perpetual vs the Casio

Peak Seiko to me is quartz with solar or any other intresting technology. I love mechanical movements, ETA, miyota, selita and seagull, but I won't buy another mechanical seiko movement.

When buying watches from Japan and being in the UK, can you give a breakdown of extra costs? e.g. VAT, courier/customs fees, insurance, etc. Do all Seiko, Grand Seiko, and Citizen JDM watches come with a global warranty that is honoured in the UK?

It's a nice watch and yet I feel no excitement. It's just like dozens of other Seiko watches I've seen before and I shan't trade my beloved Casio Oceanus for one of these.

I used to be a "Citizen guy", (before becoming an actual "watch guy"), and swore by the eco-drive and atomic time watches. But looking at them now, they are just a bit "much". Too large, too many sub dials, too much trying to look like the full cockpit of a jet fighter. 😂 And to add insult to injury, the search function on their website wasn't consistently giving ONLY eco-drive and atomic time watches. So I gave up, and won't be torturing you with additional options in your quest. :)

The citizen jdm models are equally as much of a step up in quality over their international models as the Seiko's are. A lot of them share the more dressy aesthetic as these Seiko models have. I guess the more formal look is preferred in Japan.

Gary, you are so close on this one. The stainless steel version is the Seiko Selection SBTM241 which is the stainless version of the titanium Seiko Brights SAGZ083. This watch doesn't have the lume (which i prefer) and is in a smaller case of 38.4. It's a much prettier watch. The SBTM241 doesn't have the off set text at 12 which no one would really notice anyway. Love you, big G.

No Gary is correct here...this is the literal same CASE as the SBTM line, because this is from that line. This is the SBTM341. The SS version of this is the SBTM323 (sans the pin striping). The only difference is the material used.

Side note, the Seiko Selection SBTM217 has the best case size of 37.8, HOWEVER and it's a big however.. The radio control only works in Japan so you need the Clock Wave app on your phone and the lume on the one i got is complete and utter trash. Which makes me lean on the looks and functions of the non-lumed radio controlled watches. Either go all the way or take it off. When they leave the lume off they can make the indexes shine like a rainbow, which is a very classy look. Side by side the SBTM217 looks like a kids toy next to the sbtm241. Can see a Japanese businessman wearing a sbtm241. @@jaer.6540

@@wastedaga1n Im referring to the watch he is showcasing in this video. It is the SBTM341. It is the titanium version of the SBTM321 he showcased a few months ago. You were implying that the watch in this video was the same as the BRIGHTS line...its not. It shares a similar dial pattern, but thats it.

I'm saying I found the watch that fixes all his gripes. I forgot to include it also has the black date wheel. Instead of the white date wheel which clashes with the entire design. Thanks again for the comment and hope i made that more clear for you. @@jaer.6540

I bought the SBTM217. Radio only for Japan and the one i got the lume was basically nonexistent. Next to the SAGZ083 it looks cheap. I'd prefer the smaller case - However, it's just something you got to see in person to see how much classier the 083 is. Far as i've seen the 083 is the smallest USA radio controlled watch they offer. Hope I'm wrong about that.

Prefer the extra weight, prefer the colour and feel, it’s also easier to work on if you want to refinish it…the polished surfaces look brighter…

Just got the Hitori Habuka in with the ocean blue dial. Very similar to this watch in looks. Has an oyster style bracelet, but same hands, albeit no lumes. In love with it. I'd love this one, too.
