For some reason, I'm sitting here watching Cosmo in tears. Must be Covid burnout + holiday season build-up + lack of sleep but this news just hit me like a ton of bricks. I haven't reacted to family members passing with such a heavy heart. His truly honest, straight to the core, no fluff type of soul will be missed by this guy. Thanks, Cosmo Weems, for having shared your life with all of us would-be wanderers.
Just a week ago I was re-watching his video series in which he got snowed in. Most people would've panicked, but he was like a kid in a candy shop. The deeper the snow got, the more fun he had. The man was completely unflappable. He must have been fun to know.
I remember the first time he tried out the heater, but I think the snow storm was a later video. The first one that comes to mind was his trying out the heater for the first time, checking thermometers.
Patrick, I just found this mini-tribute to Cosmo, and it was beautifully done. This video is just another reason why I have been following you for so long. Thanks for your great content and your kind heart. Hope to see you on the road some day.
So very sad to hear this dear man is gone. I will certainly miss his energetic vids. Truly wish him heavenly travels with his trailer. Rest In Peace dear sir.
I found Cosmo when I was searching for videos about the Clam shelters 2-3 years ago. His review helped me decide on buying mine. I then binge-watched all of his videos and subscribed to his channel because he was such a character and made me laugh. He introduced a lot of gear to his viewers. I bought many items based on his recommendations. He loved camping and he loved making videos for youtube. I'm sure he'll be missed by many people. RIP, Cosmo. 🙏
Wow. Lost touch with Cosmo’s channel for a number of months and am just finding out about his passing. Loved his enthusiasm for the Vistabule and love of the outdoors - it was infectious. RIP my friend.
The man left a mark on the teardrop community that will continue to inspire people for generations. A life genuinely well lived. There will always be only one Cosmo. RIP.
This is just a lovely tribute. I was (and probably still am) in such shock when I saw the video posted by the folks at Vistabule on Cosmo's channel Wednesday evening. I have been watching Cosmo's videos for several years, and really enjoyed and appreciated not only his frank, funny, straight forward style, but also his real "get out there" spirit. He really made you feel like you were along with him. I didn't know him aside from his YT channel, but I will miss him a lot. R.I.P. Cosmo, and enjoy your next adventure. **EDIT** If anyone knows of an official obituary for Cosmo, either a newspaper or funeral home site, please let me know, as I have been unable to locate any sort of death notice or obituary anywhere. Thank you.
Cosmo is the reason I now own my first td trailer, purchased it in Wisconsin, drove all the way there from Savannah by myself (longest trip EVER by myself) b/c he did a video on the road toad abode and Camp Inn factory....he corresponded with me via emails and answered tons of questions.. he loved sharing his knowledge and was so patient and gracious... my heart is sad and eyes are wet... we will all miss him so much.... enjoy the stars, Cosmo
He inspired me to set up a Hiker Trailer I had bought, to have his sort of set up. He always was an upbeat fun guy in his videos which was a joy to watch. RIP Cosmo!
I actually decided to return to Cosmo's content today and I saw the video about his passing posted to his channel. I always felt his content was very relaxing. Rest in peace, Cosmo.
I felt I knew this wonderful man. I loved his sense of humor and his philosophy on life. The world has benefited due to this optimistic, gentle man. I envy his family and friends that they knew him personally. God bless your soul, Cosmo.
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures there is / was something extra special about him . I definitely wish I could have met him . I pray he wasn’t scared & not in any pain . ☮️
What a treasure Cosmo was! So saddened to hear of his passing. He did win the lottery in living the life he enjoyed. Thank you for sharing your adventures and wisdom; I’m sure I will rewatch your videos many times to enjoy your company again❤
I was a sub and I am deeply saddened by Cosmo’s passing! He inspired me to turn off the boob tube and get outside! He left us a legacy to not only be adventurous but most importantly to have fun no matter what the age! Great tribute Patrick! R.I.P. 🙏 ❤
Heard about his passing yesterday during Slim Potato Head’s live stream on RU-vid. So shock and very sad about his passing. His enthusiasm for the Vistabule was contagious no matter what camper you may have. Loved his humor, and his gadget recommendations and how he utilized his Clam canopies…we’ll miss you Cosmo!
I never got the opportunity to meet Cosmo and that saddens me. I have watched his channel for a couple years now and enjoyed them immensely. Thank you for sharing your video of Cosmo Weems. I'm sure Cosmo would have a huge smile on his face from watching this awesome video. Cosmo you will be greatly missed 😢. However, I know you are on a much better adventure now and I'm sure the views are incredible. R.I.P. COSMO.
Interesting man and such enthusiasm for his awesome trailer and the set up. Sad he won’t see that next sunset or camp space. Thanks Patrick for sharing his story. My he Rest In Peace.
Rest in Peace Cosmo. You will be missed. I watched and enjoyed many of your videos, really loved the ones about off grid in the Adirondacks! Would have loved running into you while out camping.
Thank you for sharing this video. Over the years we really enjoyed learning about his teardrop and his experiences. His videos were super informative. I have to think that Cosmo helped many people make the decision to buy a teardrop and gave them the extra confidence to hit the road. He helped us for sure. Cosmo made owning a teardrop accessible and easy. Cosmo was a treasure. Certainly will be missed. RIP
I had not heard of Cosmo until today. I watched several of his videos and then stumbled on this one. RIP Cosmo and thank you for your informative videos!
I’m just learning of Cosmo’s passing. ❤ We will forever remember Cosmo and deeply appreciate his love for teardrop camping. As teardrop owners, we learned so much from Cosmo. I remember your get together with Cosmo and his great tour of his Vistabule. What a valuable asset to the camping community you both are! Thank you for remembering Cosmo here, Patrick. We will miss him very much! ~ Maria and Chris
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures I’m watching now a few of his videos So ironic to watch his retirement age calculation video from 3 years ago… His conviction about taking social security at age 70… I truly think he did the right thing Like he says in the video: ‘What do I care if I die before age 70, I’m dead so why does it matter…’ Wise wise man 🙏🙏
I didn't know Cosmo but I really liked his videos. He was a little bit of a mentor to me and others, generously sharing his knowledge with us. He is missed but he lives on with his students. I will remember him with gratitude every time I use one of his helpful tips. What a special guy.
Thanks Patrick for doing this. This video showed his personality and love he had for his Vistabule trailer. I loved all the gadgets he had, he made use of them all. His passing shows how You Tuber’s and their followers are all one big family and when something happens to them we all feel the pain. Cosmo will be missed, RIP.
Cosmo, RIP my friend, I felt like I knew you even though we have never met. You always responded to my posts. I always enjoyed your videos and the way you explained (in detail), what the subject of the video was.
He seemed like a real down to earth guy. I really enjoyed the videos of him in the Catskills during a heavy snow. I found his videos while searching and thinking about getting a small trailer . Really hard to believe he’s gone. Thanks for posting this dedication video!
