This could be the truck we have all been waiting for.. A Budget friendly 3s beginner option which ticks so many boxes! Well done HPI/Maverick! This will be available soon and you can find your local dealer here: www.hpiracing.com/en/shops let me know what you think of this new truck in the comments! I am seeing some people commenting that this did well at a skatepark on another channel. I dont support skateparks on this channel. This is a beginner inspired truck which has no place at a skatepark in my opinion but each to their own. I wont be telling people how to run their RC cars. I have no interest in skateparks as they are an unfair test again that's my opinion please dont be offended. See you on the next one! 😎👍
Nice truck Here haha I seen tomley did a wild vid at sk8 Park. Yup I'm the same I am not into High jumps or wild stuff I love speed crazy on road stuff will do small jumps but that's it. Yea no matter what parts will break and these guys don't know that when u land these hard servos motors start getting internally damaged. I am also a rc jet guy so I know 😅
Hi just bought my son this and I’ve bought some 2s lipos to start with… there zeee 5200mah 80c are these ok for the truck or is the c rating to high etc..? Thanks
@@beyondRC thanks for replying… I’ve just visited hobby king on your recommendation and just looking at the turnigy rapid 6500mah 140c 4s for my Ftx dr8… but I’m unsure? And do you know if the balance charging plug is the same as the normal white one ? I can’t tell on the picture thanks again ta
Tomley did a skate park bash with this and it stood up to the abuse really well. He did a full speed jump maybe about 30 feet and nose dived it onto concrete, he broke 2 teeth on the diff. Really impressive little truck!
Impressive Truck. The Tomley Special concrete test i will make no comments about haha! I always get into trouble or make people cry when i say too much lol!
@@beyondRCAgreed. You reviewed That truck (forgot brand) with the bad radio and gave it a second chance , is junk and I agree. Never saw a good review on it.
Great review and couldn’t agree more! I actually love my Maverick Quantum Flux XT with the HD pack on plus I think the Quantum Flux + is one of the best cars out there for the money!
Great video mate! and always good to see the rc companies listing and improving! its the best we car ask for really 😀you guys are -3 over there, here in Australia, im getting over 40c 🙃
I think you hit it right saying it's a good beginner truck, however it is probably a good intermediate truck also. My only concern would be how readily available replacement parts are. Hopefully they'll be plentiful, and easy enough to procure.
Cracking little truck mate and yeah not badly priced compared to some of the other brands. Nice to see HPI listening to people and actually making some noticable changes to improve their product.
Just finished this video and watched Tomleys video on it. He bashed the heck out of it wt the skatepark. It seems like it will be a great option for those looking at a bigger entry level truck.
And then also broke the diff after smacking it into a ramp? Haha each to their own not my thing. This was designed with beginners in mind and skateparks are not for beginners. Its definitely a good option for a lot of people moving up from the smaller stuff. 😎👍
I've unsubscribed from everything kevin because it's always about breaking things. Between here and Phil, I get real results. I have just ordered the RX flux 4s because of your reviews (the price in australia is about to go up an extra $100), and have already got some mods on the way. Keep up the good work.
Yep it totally survived a helluva skate park bash by Tomley RC, seems to be a super solid bashable truck! Probably shouldn't make assumptions without investigation ehh?
Its a beginner inspired truck aimed at beginners. It technically doesn't belong in a skatepark.. I dont support skatepark tests on my channel. Its my opinion. I dont expect everyone to agree :)
Looks a good update it would be good to see a head to head with the FTX Ramraider which has proven quite durable if not the easiest to work on and also can cog a little bit under load
Tomalley took it to the skatepark, it proved to be super durable. This looks to be a great truck,, according to Tomley, Aussie Rc they both found it very tough. I don't do skateparks but its interesting to know that its durable. I think this looks like a serious rival (excuse pun) to the MT10, looks good too in green.
I think your right. Looks a great truck for the price. Just wondering if MJX are going to put there hat in the ring. And build a 1/10 scale basher. I love 1/16 trucks they made. But gotta say like the green body and wheels.😊
This one looks like quite a durable truck, especially for the price point.. its a saturated market but everything I have seen so far this has the makings of a great starter rig. I knew Maverick (HPI) were moving in the right direction from the 4s models.
Looks like a homerun from HPI. Really impressive that they managed to keep the costs that low 👏 and finally a radio that doesn't look like a toy 🙂 what do you think about the radio and do you know the range? Nice video as usual 👌
Looks like a great early truck to own. I have been introduced to the hobby by my young son (ahem), we are a little way in now with 5 RC cars / trucks. We started with a cheap Chinese Hosim, then HBX, then I picked up a Strada MT and we upgraded it to brushless, then an FTX Zorro brushless and now we have an Arrma big rock.. All that in just over a year!! Anyway, looks like this would suit anyone who wants something they can start and grow into before they move onto to something a bit more challenging / exciting. Price and truck looks good to me.
I think this a great starter kit for my son he is only 9 im sure he will like this i recently got my self k6 its my first rc ever and i have tons of fun with it im running 6s on 50% th limit just to learn for now but definitely think my son couldn't handle that type of power so fs getting him this for our days at the park thank you awesome video 😊
Great vid! - Yes it holds up fantastic at a Skate park - Just seen a couple of other vid's 👍- Tho not being a Skatepark basher myself, I need some advice - Which buggy would you recomend best, between the Rlaarlo Desert Buggy 1/12 or the MJX 14209 - both look great to me (I'm stepping up from an HBX16889a - which has been brill!) -Thanks for any advice👍
Really nice truck. What’s it like size wise, Ricky ? Is it a small 1/10 like an mt10, a true 1/10 like a Granite, an “L” like a Big Rock or XXL like an armma 4s ? You showed the mt10 with included battery and charger, is that because this comes with both ? If not, I’m guessing the mt10 is still around £80 more ?
i am going to try and do a comparison of similarly priced trucks for people in this price range. Stay tuned for that. the mt10 without the battery and charger is around £329 i believe so £80 or so more. Factor in most people especially those just starting will have to buy a battery or two and a charger and the cost will be close to £400.
The sketer is better built and 100% more durable but it’s more expensive and the looks are 50/50. I would say the sketer 4s would be an intermediate truck whereas this is better for a beginner
Wonder if they charge £20 odd for the arms that shatter when you look at them and the drive shafts that snap when you go over a pebble like the first Quantum? HPI no thanks.
Well for starters this is a monster truck that’s a rally car, this is 3s and that’s 4s. Really depends on what you’re looking for. This will be more capable for off road
Yes, agreed. I prefer rally car, but Maverick doesn't have a new one for 1/10 scale. Arrma Gorgon vs this one, closer match? thank you for your great video as always@@beyondRC
Dont think so. I think such a small amount of stock is sent over to the UK by horizon that distributors use this demand to make the most amount of profit. Then the stores need to profit too which means we are paying incredibly high prices.
@@blakamin 4 in stock at hobbies direct for $548.82. But even at 650, that's still only 336gbp. The brits pay another 10% tax on top of us, but that still doesn't account for it
how does this compare to the cheaper Chinese options? i guess there is not really a good 1/10 Chinese option, but how does this compare to say a 1/12 AM-D12?
way more capable firstly as its 1/10 so much larger than the cheaper/smaller Chinese offerings. Parts should also be way easier to obtain from local stores. If the budget can stretch something like this will always beat the cheaper Chinese stuff. Those cars are perfect for people on a very tight budget looking to get into the hobby.
