Do you think the Hyper Go still deserves the No.1 Spot? For the price there is very little out there that can compete when it comes to looks/speed/performance and value for money. Win the RLAARLO Omni-Terminator Here: raffall.com/beyondrc Let me know your thoughts :)
For me I really like the 1/12 scale cars, they perform better than the smaller scle, my sons initial 1/16 and 1/14 scale dont get used anymore since he got the 2996a and the Omni Terminator. The 1/12 is bigger and better,, i know people say its not a true 1/10 which is true but our Big Rock, Sketer, FTX Zorro brushless dont get taken out as much because you are a little bit more restricted on where to run them. The 1/12 we run in our building car park, in the woods, in the park and my son even drives it to Morrisons when we take a walk there. So i think fo me best budget is 2996a and Omni Terminator,, just my opinion of course.
Yeah , maybe the Rlaarlo Omni cf but yeah , respect bro . Defintely would have got a granite before the rlaarlo cf Omni but the cf Omni is cool , there’s the mjx 1/10 scale that looks like it could be better amd as rated , I have tot rust your judgement and can see it’s better imo
I almost didn't click on the thumbnail because I thought it was another one of those AI-made "top list" videos that spam everyone's feed. But when I realized that it was you, I of course watched it!
I did go ahead and picked up the Hyper Go Citroen rally car, managed to catch it on sale and with incentives got it for $102 USD shipped to my door. That car is an INSANE value at that price, so thank you for the recommendation! I couldn't possibly be happier! But if that's what can be expected out of the other Hyper Go models, I say your list is on the mark!
I have the Omni Terminator carbon. And I think that deserves to be in the number one spot.. for sure jumps better handles better than the other ones you mentioned. But that's my opinion.😊
Great video! Funny that the one I have from this list is the number one, the MJX 14210. 😊 It's my first "real" rc car and my intro to the hobby, I couldn't be more happy with it. If in 6 months I'm still into it, the 10208 V2 is on the top of the list to be my next rc car.
@@beyondRChoping when the V2 kit is available it’s going to be reasonably priced 😅. I believe mjx mentioned changing the chassis I wonder how they’ll address that if they do a v2 kit.
14210 was my first rc car, I have had it for about a year nothing has ever Brocken never maintained it, put it through puddles high jumps and it still works like a trouper, will definitely get the V2 RTR 10208 when and if released
I just read a post from another viewer noting that the number one car was his intro to the hobby. Funny thing, one of my latest was finally an MJX, the 14303 Citroen rally car, and I absolutely love it. Always considered getting the 14210, just never did. Glad I finally got an MJX though, it is great.
I do agree with your top 5, except the fact that i would include the phantom xt brushless on 2s - wich in my opinion is way above your number 3 or 4, i know because i had them all! Best of luck! Love your reviews!
Great list, I would agree wth them all except the Gorgon, I have not driven it but I will not buy simply because the spares are acrazy prices. We do own the Omni terminator and that to me would probably be number 1 affordable, its so durable. its one of the only cars we hsve where we confidently sling it in a backpack and just run it around with no issues,, never had to repair it,,,,,, yet. For pricing i think sub 300 pounds is do able or most who are serious about getting into the hoddy so the Team associated syncro 4 may be another i would consider. As I said all in all a very solid list and good video.
If you’ve never driven or owned the Gorgon, then don’t knock it. It’s the best one on the list. Crying that parts are too pricey for it when you don’t even own one makes no sense. I’ve bashed the heck out of mine and have broken nothing!
@@BobPavlow this is why I never include anything on my top 5/10 lists which I haven't driven personally or experienced. That said I do agree with spares being a bit pricey but im almost certain this is how they are justifying the cheaper cost of the kits to begin with. They make their money on the spares :/
@@beyondRC well being in the hobby since the 80’s, it’s always been my experience that if you know how to take care of something, and don’t drive your RC cars like an idiot, you won’t need to worry about spare parts. I bash mildly, and intelligently, so therefore I’m never too concerned about breaking anything. My motto is treat it like you had to pay for it with your own hard earned money. And you’ll be surprised at just how durable ANY brand of RC can be. It always makes me laugh at how people who watch these videos, of people jumping these things at skate parks, and busting them all up. Then they go out and buy the same cars and drive them the same way as RU-vidrs! You can’t whine and complain that a product is cheap or garbage, when you beat the crap out of it and make it do things it’s not designed to withstand, and it breaks. 😂
@@BobPavlow couldn't agree more! RC cars are never solely designed to be used and smashed around at skateparks but its surprising how many people think that's their intended purpose thanks to some large channels promoting the hobby in that way. Not something im into. Very bad image for the hobby and for the younger generation. I teach my son to respect his items and of course his RC cars too.
I love my rlaarlo omni terminator, paid $190 on amazon prime, it showed up next day. I was a little disappointed that it was actually 1/10 scale. Its more like 1/12. The 3S performance is soo fun. I also did 2 different part orders from Rlaarlo directly and they showed up within 2 weeks.
The rlaarlo 3s truggy is pretty badass @ 50 ish mph with a 3s is a wheelie monster fellas . L2 the w just made a vid . I think it was originally released as a brushed version but the 3s version is a nice ground ripper imo with the rlaarlo trimmings and sweet remote . Another $12 or so and it could have a gyro with the dumbo
I agree with the 14210 in the first place there is now even a new V3 with a metal upgrade in the steering and with hex hardware all around for the same price, which is awesome! (maybe you can clarify that in a comment for other people to see)
Nice list, everyone has their opinions, I agree with some, but I think "top 5" is rather limited. There are so many great, inexpensive, rc cars that I think should be on the list, but, these are the ones that you think should be there. I don't have to agree with them all in order to enjoy the video and appreciate your opinion. I would have trouble narrowing it down to just five myself, but that's me. Thanks for the video, keep them coming.
its always very hard to do videos like this as its purely based on my opinion. There are hundreds of options to choose from i can only go by the cars i have actually used/tested and reviewed myself! There will always be some good ones missed out :(
All reviews I’ve seen on the Maverick have been great but my sons has only been run twice and snapped front drive shafts on both occasions. Only light running on grass too, not big jumps and skateparks. No response from HPI. A bit disappointed so far (although it was great when it was working). Just my experience, enjoyed the vid 👍🏻
No argument with number 1.. or number 5.. I'd say gorgon is very expensive when you factor in the costs of a brushless setup. And monster trucks nowadays are all 4wd. So it's not really a good monster truck. Even with its ruggedity. Another good video and it's your list.. mine would be a little different. Partly because I have not owned them all.
100% agree. it can start to add up and cost more than buying a RTR brushless truck. But for someone starting out the brushed setup will be more than enough and its actually very fun. Biggest issue with the gorgon and no doubt the brand new trucks they have just revealed today is the cost of spares. for the UK at least we are getting punished with prices/availability. All of this is a real shame as the Gorgon is a brilliant truck!
Nice video but i have heard lots of bad things about the MJX 14210, hard to work on, handles horrible, not wide enough, flip happy, overpowered but fast and pretty tough unless you jump to concrete then the jarring of it on the flat metal chassis apparently kills the servos and ESCs. Not trying to be negative but it's a pass for me untill they can figure out how to make it handle better and track straight. Maybe offer a wide track kit as well.
I have heard about some of the negatives and whilst i agree with a lot of them it definitely doesn't handle as horrible as people make out. For the money the performance is as expected of course just my opinion :)
@@Thorpejason1988 I'm in Canada and I had to order from the Amazon US site, so am not sure. It seems like your side of the pond gets more HPI and Maverick and we get more HBX and Hosim.
yer 'affordable' is certainly subjective. i would say generally speaking sub 100 is intro level, and 100-300 is about right for those that have had some experience with sub 100 rigs and want something a bit better. when you have tried a couple cheaper models you will find that you get what you pay for rather quickly, though it is not always guaranteed paying more will result in a better vehicle or experience. videos like these do help in determining which are what.

Make a list like this for crawlers and on road cars please.
Very odd. SeriousRC have sold hundreds and one of their most popular sellers. What would you place at no.1 out of curiosity considering speed/looks and overall package? Cheers mate
Its on clearance because we want the best prices... not because it doesnt sell. We've sold about 900 of them now! But to be honest the rlaarlo is the best of the bunch in terms of reliability and quality. And once you lower it it handles the best too. You've just done trucks... I think there's some good buggy options now too. Wait til we release our own kits!
I think we as an rc community, when it come to videos like this, need to better define or put parameters on the word “affordable”. Yes, these are all below the $400-$450 price range that most would consider “hobby grade” or for those a little more serious about rc vehicles, but, they range from $140-$250+. I have vehicles in both categories. But then o personally think “affordable”, I’m thinking $140 would be at the upper end of the price bracket.
its a tough one that's impossible to solve. I fully get your point btw. The issue we have is people have different budgets. $140 to you may seem more affordable but others would say thats cheap. Some would say 400-500 is cheap. With such varying budgets depending on person its impossible to make a video which caters to everyone as a whole. Also what people forget is RC is a very expensive hobby especially if you go down the route of faster/more powerful models. Just like any hobby there is a cheaper end and an expensive end.
You should swap the Gorgon with a Traxxas BL2s, it only a little more expensive, but cheaper in the long run as spares are much cheaper than Gorgon and it’s brushless with all the benefits of that. And availability is no issue. Is it not there be a it’s Traxxas?
Only a little more expensive? 👀 the gorgon is around £150 for us in the Uk the rustler bl2s and slash are £279-300 which is double the price of the gorgon
@@beyondRC I see you have much different prices in UK compared to DK. Here Traxxas costs the same as 3 years ago (maybe a little cheaper) where Arrma prices has gone up. Three years ago an Arrma Vorteks was £100 cheaper than a Rustler, today the price is equal. Gorgon is today only £50 cheaper than a Slash 2wd BL-S and same price as a Rustler Brushed 2wd. So here nobody buys the Gorgon, but run Traxxas.
terminator carbon was my first "fast" rc......stock differentials suck!, otherwise it's great, just buy upgraded diff's and gears when you buy the truck
Even though I am a mjx hyper go fan. I believe that you will enjoy the Omni Terminator carbon version better. It handles jumps very well because of the Good shocks it has on it. And it also handles very very well on the road. I have no issues at all with this truck. You would not be disappointed if you bought one. And the droop screws are also a plus. And it has a gyro also. Basically it has everything on that truck that you would want on a monster truck.
I need my RC at the moment, been "on the wagon" for 2 weeks now.😢 Girlfriend says if I can go to the end of September without a beer, she will buy me something RC! Hmmm, bevvie cold turkey ain't nice.😂
I purchased the sweep truggy 70kmh but in the 1st run I found the steering wasn't working properly after I reported it to the seller and a lot of lip service I got nothing so I tried it again and found now that it won't connect to the controller. 😢 what a piece of rubbish which is a shame as it was fast. I couldn't even put a bad review on the sellers site😢 cos I have the seller plenty of time to redeem their selves like ebay state, but when I went back to ebay they said to much time had passed for them to get involved. Very disappointed 😢
