Incubus are underrated because many people who have heard of them have only heard casual hits like Drive, Warning and Megalomaniac. Truth is, once you dive into every album, you realise how incredibly unique and talented the band is.
Listen to this, friend. This band is amazing too and I bet Mike was really inspired to do this solo. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Eb5E3TzO0bw.html😉
They had a phenomenal run with Make Yourself, A Crow Left Of The Murder and Morning View. 3 classics and not just from them. 3 of the better albums ever imo. Don’t know how long that list is but those 3 albums are on it. After attending the 20 Year Make Yourself concert last month I truly hope they do that when A Crow Left of The Murder turns 20 in a couple years. And Morning View. Another point to add to my already too long comment. Why don’t artist make concert dvds anymore. They were some of my favorite things to get from my favorite artists and bands. Bone Thugs had a couple. And their Collection Volume 2 was filled with a lot of studio footage of them recording the songs and that is some of my favorite footages time get. Linkin Park had a few concert dvds there were bad ass and Tech N9ne, Eminem. Just to name a few. If they came out with these recent tours on blu-ray or even digital I feel like it would make some money but maybe that’s me putting my own likes to the masses and that’s why they aren’t a thing anymore because they weren’t making money anymore or maybe it was costing more too shoot and press them than they see making. But these days. Hire a couple camera people and then you can just edit in house and put up for digital sale.
I can't even. This is literally the best version of this song anywhere. It's fucking magical. I can't explain the things this makes me feel every time I hear it
Having shared bills with these cats back in the day at Mancinis & Troubadour I must say that I don't think people realize what a gem they are as a band. They were always so nice and so creative. One of my favorite bands and I was born in '68. Please appreciate what they provide us with complete class cla cla cla class...
You think these people had any idea they were about to be taken on an epic music ride that would be the best version ever of this song? lucky bastards!
Who's listening in 2019? Just saw them in concert and gah, they kicked ass on this song, shit their whole concert was amazing!! Not surprised!! Love Incubus!!
I FUCKING CRIIIED.. literally screaming in my thin-walled apartment with joy and sadness emanating with every chill I got from this feel. Dont know what else to say
For most of my childhood i didn’t have any sort of cable tv in my room but i had a tv with a DVD player. It always had this concert dvd or look alive dvd in it. I watched both concerts literally everyday multiple times. Still never gets old. Forever incubus.
Literally watched a million times and do not get tired of this! incubus you need to recreate this version and play it in all your shows I love you guys so much
9:20, I love Brandon's singing in the background and body motion, Ben Kenney is playing amazing bass and awesome rhythm. And when Mikey breaks into the sweep/super fast scale run with the stars in the backdrop, its such and amazing climax....
What a beautiful phenomenon the band incubus is. I admire each of them in their own way of creating expressing and sharing their amazing magical The chemistry is interesting.. incubus is "infinitely interesting ))))
I am so late coming to the Incubus thing. but this kinda music in short supply now a days. Glad i missed it to come find it later. Fuckin Incubus!!!!!!
@@jamesstinebaker1290 Also when did playing the pentatonic scale make you a dick? I'm just saying he isn't underrated, he's just playing a six note pattern, on 3 strings. Like, it sounds nice, you don't have to be impressed by music to like it. You sound like you have a complex, you want to play the solo on your channel? You can even play it on "every instrument" since you like to tell us how cool you are
If they stretched all their songs out like this they would be headlining hippie jam band festivals and blowing pretty much every band on the ticket completely out of the water
@@sharon94503 yeah they do. I wasn't implying that they need to change their target audience or anything, it's just that i've been to a bunch of jam band festivals. The bands at those things play all their songs for 11 minutes, with tons of improvising and experimentation, and it's cool, but rarely do they rock this much or have this level of musicianship. This performance is just mindblowing and Mike Einziger is one of the best guitarists ever.
@@marcpatrick6337 each ,on their own are genius musicians...let alone put them all together to form incubus. I swear, there has never been & I doubt will be another band like them. Cheers. That's my man throwin' down. 😉
The first time I saw this performance I was learning guitar and was in awe by the guitar solo and drums were right on point honestly they all killed it
I've seen Incubus four times. The first was at Music Midtown in May of 2002. The second was them during the morning view tour. The third was at Lollapalooza 2003. The fourth and final time was actually during this tour except it was in Atlanta. Make Yourself, Morning View, and A Crow Left of the Murder are seriously some of my all time favorites.
JOSE PASILLAS HOLDS this entire show together solidly with total perfection. Throughout, he's demonstrating expertise and techniques second to none! Incredible!
Saw them live August 2021 in St Augustine, FL. 2 hours. No openers. Seen them about 10 times and it was the absolute BEST! WISH Mike would bring back the Jazzmaster, tho. Tele isn't the same. His tone here is much better.
The both performance between Look Alive and Red Rocks are different but equally good no doubt even if my preference is for the first. The immersive sound experience to me just like one of the new songs of Pearl Jam Dance Of Clairvoyant I listened lately. Incubus offers nearly endless freedom to create unknown, this unusual sound experiences. The indefatigable seeker of sounds like the gold digger. An exclusive bond with their instrument. They invent strange scenes to a background of that sound blending. I thought I heard a UFO again 😜. A sensory experience that embraces the unexpected. Unique. It feels good because it is an invitation to let your mind escape and the mine says you thank you tonight for that spirit walk. It also feels like flying... Like a golden eagle. 😄
