This is my favorite song of theirs! Well... Kind of like having twins and you could never choose I have two favorites (this one and Anna Molly). The way the chorus turns to almost a whisper musically with the insistent but quieted drums... Gives me chills. I want to live inside this song.
@@cpellett0821 Yes! Make Yourself is like the first time actually bought a CD back in like 2000. But this is one of my favorites from the band. Lately I've been listening to In the Company of Wolves a lot. But the entire Light Grenades album has a special place in my heart.
I went to like 7 shows after crow left of the murder and this was always my fav live. Then the first show i saw for light grenades they didnt play this. Amazing show but sucked to miss it.
@@billybutcher4995Ben can do so much more than what Dirk can. Look at Dirk’s new band. Pop drivel. Ben can do so much more and is so much more a musician and artist.
I think when it comes to bass alone, Dirk is still the boss.. But I believe if Ben didn't take over, this band is done like 10-15 years ago. Ben is such a high level and very creative musician that adds so much versatility to this band. I really hope Ben's well recovered from his illness if ever they tour Asia again 🤟🤟🤟
@@capo_di_capi idk, that's a stretch man.. Mikey has an incredibly unique, recognizable and refreshing sound. He doesn't rip anything off, he takes influence from people, just like every other musician.
They sound just as good today as they did 20 years ago when morning view came out. Amazing band! Seen them 7 times and each time still gives me chills.
Houligan1990 think about it...that's what life is really about...that feeling of experiencing something for the first time can never be replaced...a person who can unlearn I would be envious for sure.
I know im biased because these guys started getting big when I was a teen, and everyone thinks their generation is the best, but seriously, aren't these guys the best rock band of all time? I feel like the barometer for good art is when it sounds unique, not just some attempt to copy another's work. Incubus has that quality of being set apart from the rest, and their music makes me feel happy. some music I like as well, but its good If im at the gym and I want to get a boost of adrenaline and feel angry, but incubus is like divine. the kind of music you want to listen to on a serene seashore, and hope for happiness and joy. in a world that is so scripted, fake, politically correct, and robotic, its so refreshing to listen to pure art.
Completely agree. Been listening since I was tiny little kid. I love this band to death. Truly so different and unique and changing. The only other band I dig as much is Led Zeppelin (yes I know they took A LOT)
I absolutely agree with everything you said. I’m thrilled to read your comment is recent and that you feel THE SAME way about Incubus as so many of their fans. You couldn’t be anymore right and I thank you for sharing such dope, REAL, genuine thought of them with us comment readers!!
Same ma man...same. And all staring in 1995', to the most recent Make Yourself 20 Summer of 2019. Mutha fucking EPIC every second of every 25 shows I've been too. They are also the chillest, most down to earth men I've ever had the privledge to meet. Only us die hards are watching & jamming to this in 2020-2021. Note in my profile pic my T-Shirt😉✌
Wow. This has always been my favorite Incubus song and seeing how they perform it live just knocks my socks off. So amazing. I love how they just give the crowd an astounding performance.
Revisiting this video 12 years later from when I first heard this live version of Sick Sad Little World and I remember the first time I heard this part at 4:52 is the moment I truly realize how great Incubus really is. Listening to this part just gave me a high I’ve never felt before with music. Never felt so disconnected with existence at the moment. It was amazing.
Bought this album the day it released. Was driving home at night from work, took a couple rips and when this song came on it sent me to another dimension!
One of the best live performances of any band I've ever seen...seen them twice and they're in the rare league of those bands that somehow sound even better live than on their albums.
Know these guys have been around for a long time, but I only discovered them recently. Been listening and watching their live work. They are awesome. I like that it does not all sound that same. They have tons of influence and talent. Might have to go get their whole catalog before long.
In the world today.. One really has to appreciate the few artists that sound just as fantastic live as they do on their albums. And, Incbus, they shine as one of the few that still do. Not to mention that they have beautiful lyrics that, in some way, can speak to anyone. I don't 'love' them per say, but I do admire them and always will. Love is a word you use when speaking of someone you -know-. But I must say, I sure as hell wish I knew Brandon so I could have the priviledge to say I love him.
Every time I watch this, every single time, when he starts shining those lights around it makes me extremely inexplicably happy. It just looks like a lot of fun. It never gets old, I absolutely love this band and this video!
What a moment in time. This performance gives me chills almost brought me to tears. Still one the greatest of all time. Saw them perform this on the Gold Coast, Australia last week one of the highlight moments. They are still as brilliant as ever. 🙏🏽
The bit at the end, with the eerie, twisting guitars fusing with the dj bit, sounds so much like mars volta its scary. It gives you time to reflect, yet its almost hypnotising... Mike Einziger is a badass guitarist.
The drums around the 6-minute mark. The cymbal crash, and the quality of the recording. I never really remember the album version anymore. This reminds me of Bellingham Washington for some reason.
OK. First time seeing this. Initial reaction: The sound quality is top notch. The musicians and the arrangements are equally so. Jaw Dropper Good. Wow.
This isn't their best song by any stretch, but this performance is just magical. For me it trancends music and performance and goes to another place altogether ...
No, You're not the first to fall apart But always the first one to complain You better get careful or you'll compromise Everything you are The world is a drought when out of love Please come back to us You're all of the above "I'm making a choice to be out of touch Leave me be" he said He said: He said! "Leave me here in my Stark, Raving, Sick sad little world!" HA! I've never had unpaid confidants Its more than I would care to explain But I have an open door policy When it comes to blame The world is a joke when out of love Please come back to us You're all of the above "I'm making a choice to be out of touch Leave me be" he said He said: He said "Leave me here in my Stark, Raving, Sick sad little world!"
I was introduced to Incubus around 2004 or 2005, bought the album "A crow left of the murder" was a fan ever since .I would go to sleep listening to that album until it was all scratched up and then i would go buy myself a new one. Still listen to it 'til this day, i loved every track.
Right on Manny, I think Thrice's evolution is phenomenal. I'm usually a purist, but they've just blown my mind time and time again all while challenging my own tastes and sensibilities
