Hey, I have kind of made my own missiles as well, and I made them so that they'll work in space and in the atmosphere (I think) it's hard to get an initial lock but once you get it it's really hard to escape it, but if I tried to ram someone with the missile it is very hard to actually hit someone but it works kinda well
alright time for me to harass you again. (i told umbra in his comment section to do it for me a day or two ago because i'm a dick) (he's next on my people to bully list) i've made my own lock on missiles (they fucking suck) you use 4 distance sensors in front on hinges rotated to the angle of your liking. put them on a rotor with a timer to make it rotate back and forth 45 degrees (a total of 90) i use them as anti ship atgm's because they fucking suck at long range and fall down immediately. basically just guided rocket bombs tbh but calling them missiles is cooler. best just to make basic 1d tracking low depth torpedoes. closest thing we will get. a few suggestions of things to look into since you might run out of ideas weapon tracking jammers, (i use 4 pistons rapidly shifting up and down and 2 left and right on my aircraft to make it so weapons track improperly because of my shifting velocity) better flyby wire system. heli engines are good for tailless aircrafts stabilizing logic. and don't tell anyone who isn't on blue. use greyman tactics with your friends in trailchallenge.
in order of the statements / questions: yes umbra did contact me while i am aware of sensor based missiles and scanning being a way to improve them, i did not think to scan them along that way. torps are cool while i already understand the theory of the stealth drive and different ways to apply it, again, hearing a new way is always interesting. tru but i hate tuning systems like these. don't doubt i will use them, just not on any big projects with fly by wire systems. or as someone called them, flight control systems which may or may not be a more accurate term. trust me, i know. psyops are fun.
