IIT Toppers always choose IIT Bombay, especially for Computer Science, that class is exclusively for All India Toppers and it is a prestige issue for Toppers.

Or may be he is referring to Kanpur itself, but just got its geographic location wrong. Since IIT Kanpur is in North India.

in 1990 there were 5 IIT with 1000 seats now in 2025 when my son will appear for JEE there are 23 IIT with 20k seats. I went to IIT and then IIM. My rank in 1993 was 101 in JEE. aIIT Kanpur is in Uttar Pradesh and was no. 1 IIT in our times, now it is n0. 4. UP is part of north india and not south India. The CSE branch is famous in IIT Kanpur because in 1964 they got IBM computer with them. It was the only IIT for many years to have a computer of their own. Now IIT Powai (Mumbai) is no. 1 followed by IIT Delhi and IIT Madras (CHennai). The speaker needs to update knowledge.

IIT ka Entrance Exam ,JEE Advance and Baki sab B Tech ka Entrance Exam is JEE Maims .And Kanpur is in Uttarpradesh and Aligarh ke najdik .Aligarh Muslim University ka B Tech bhi bariya hain .or India me NIT or IISER bhi hain .

dont be rude bro he is not giving geography lessons here. There are few issue too with our IITs that most of IITians after completing UG go to west for their Masters. Its like we prepare them to be good researchers & than when its time to get the fruits they go on to give their services to west. major issue is lack of funding improper use of our IIT by state & union governments.
