Bring Ashwin in place of Sky. Surely we need 6th bowler considering attacking approach of Aussies batsmen. Surely one Indian bowler will have bad day but Ashwin as 6th bowling option will come as a rescue. All 5 top Indian batsmen scored 90 or 100+, so we can confidently go with 6 bowlers on Sunday.

Ashwin can come in place of Surya Kumar Yadav because it will add more strength to Bowling and so far Surya hardly getting chances to bat and even if he gets an opportunity then he scores 20 odd runs which even Ashwin can score easily.. Shami averages 4 vs left handers this WC not only that except Netherlands match he picked 1 or 2 wickets in the 1st spell. aus has 2 left hander openers if bumrah or siraj misses - shami will strike. So Aus aware of it this will give them psychologically little panic to face him so india has to utlize this situation against them.

I would say if India wins the toss and decide to bat first, need to announce Ashwin as the change in place of SKY since India anyways gonna use batting only upto KL/Jaddu to an extent and they might need the 6th specialist bowler while defending. In case if we batting second need not change the previous combination and we need an extra batter in a crucial chase!

My predictions- If India bat first: Rohit will go all guns blazing the way he has been going. He might even go harder this time in the finals. I think Rohit will get out in the powerplay after scoring a quick 50. Gill and Kohli will add another 50-60 run partnership. Shreyas and Rahul are going to go big tomorrow with SKY giving them some support in the end. India put on a total of anywhere between 320-350. Aussies will start positively with Travis head and Warner going for a 50+ run partnership and everything will plummet from there. India win the match in the middle overs by about 100 runs. In Australia bat first: Head and Warner will go all guns blazing to put on a 100 run partnership. Siraj would leak plenty of runs. Shami and Bumrah to take the early wickets. Jaddu will go for runs but Kuldeep to take the wickets. Aussies put on 250-270. India go on to win the match in the early 40 overs, with the same batting as described above. The only way Aussies can win this match is if Head or Marsh hit a century. I can’t see that happening that easily. Guys, please pray that none of our bowlers get injured!!! 😢 Otherwise we are winning this easily and dominantly!

One thing I noticed n have to praise Rohit Sharma for showing guts in opening.. When sachin-sehwag opened batting.. Sachin doesn't take strike facing the first ball.. When sehwag -GG opened batting, Sehwag doesn't take first ball strike.. Whereas sharma bravely faces first ball even if he has issues with left arm pacer

Yeah am with Cheeka on bringing Ash to this game in place of Siraj. More than his guile against the lefties, Ash got the all important experience of staying calm under tough situations as he showed in Sydney test though its a different format, temparament matters. Siraj lacks a bit on that part, understandably so the adrenaline gets the better off him. I strongly feel that Ash really got the wood on Warner. The only way Ind can have control over Oz in final is by taking the game deep if required and not dropping shoulders in the MO as there will be some good decent partnerships from OZ batters being a Final. Godsake Ind fielders should be in the park like on a war footing, no way they can pull this one if grassing sitters not even the half chances. Focus, Focus and Focus on taking their chances with both hands

Agree on the part - If India can manage to see off Starc and Hazelwood without losing more than 1 wicket, it will be good. All the previous games where India have lost has been the top 3 getting out in first 5 overs. Starc is very dangerous and demoralizing him will be the key. Only Rohit can do it. Also I have always been commenting to play Ashwin in place of Siraj for all the league games. In the hindsight, this can also been seen right as Siraj was the only weak link bowler in the side and bringing Ashwin gives more assurance to the side. We all keep talking about Sky as x-factor but who do you give him to partner with ? Shami, Kuldeep, Siraj and Bumrah - none of them guarantee to play more than 2 overs though they have done exceptionally well in some matches.

Conditions (nature) proved to be the ultimate. It beat everything else. It’s not easy to play in overcast conditions however good a batting team might be. See how Indian toporder collapsed against a moving new ball in 2019 WC.

Wondering if you have done any opening batting and have more insights into why you think these guys are useless? I love Farook Engineer, Srikkanth, Jayasuriya, Greatbatch, Sehwag and now Rohit! In SA vs AUS match, Aus was chased from 190 -7. If Ind were in same situation, would be possible to chanse same score ? Batting depth problem much and also fielding is very clumsy in last 3 games for India. Team should concentrate on fielding like first match with same opponent.

If the pitch is unusually benign like what we have seen in 46 matches then Australia are favourites. If the BCCI finally prepares a typical Indian turner like the one at Eden Gardens yesterday then India will prevail. Siraj is still the weak link in bowling. On a turner India can play 3 spinners and there is very little chance of Australia prevailing against 30 overs of spin. On the other hand Warner and Head will certainly be going after Siraj and even Kuldeep on a flat deck. This entire tournament has shown how the BCCI is under pressure from the ICC to prepare pitches more suitable to the visiting teams. The advantage of being the host has been nullified. The new BCCI management has sadly surrendered.

I will be shocked if they play Ashwin, yes he may have a good record against Australians but I don't think Rohit Sharma will bring in Ashwin. Remember with Ashwin, India will be playing with 3 spinners and just 2 pace bowlers. You can say they did the same against Australia in Chennai but there was Hardik available as a third seamer and the Chennai pitch was expected to be slow and low and the one at Ahmedabad may not be that slow. Having said that Siraj has been off color and Head and Warner may both be looking to target him.

I think Ashwin will be a good option as there are two left-handers. If he can pick David's wicket soon, Australia will be under great pressure. It doesn't really matter if he played only one match or two matches in the series. Ashwin is a dangerous bowler if Rohit uses him at the right time. I think Dhoni only did that often. I still remember Dhoni's words after winning the 2011 Cup: Why Srisanth, why not Ashwin? my doubt is who has to be taken out kuldeep or siraj or SKY

6th bowling option is definitely required.. Sky should be replaced by Shardul or Ash. Bcoz 5 bowlers mattum vachikitu porathu periya risk IMO.. pona match ah when Williamson and Mitchell 150 runs stand apo we were in pressure bcoz of no 6th bowling option.. definitely Shardul or Ash should be there ( they have the ability to bat decently)

Better to replace Surya with Ashwin. Reason it that our other batsmen have been damn consistent and we have hardly needed Surya so far. If this batting line fails, then Surya cannot save since he more inconsistent than Jadeja. Plus we need Ashwin to counter Australian left handers. Plus in case a bowler develops cramps or gets injured then Australia will destroy the part time bowler. Better to go with an attacking and kill mentality by having 6 deadly bowlers and let our batsmen make sure to get 270 runs if we bat first. Our 6 bowlers can surely defend 250-270.
