Truly amazed to see you visit a place like Varanasi. While its a place rich in culture, Indian heritage but very unique in being the oldest town in the whole world. why you are avoiding ganga water it is one of the purest holy water. If you kept ganga water for years in any container in house the ganga water did not Spoilage and The scientific reason is that water of river Ganga is naturally having bacteriophages, which do not allow bacterial growth. The high levels of dissolved oxygen in the Ganges River help prevent the growth of bacteria but the Ganges River faces pollution challenges due to the discharge of untreated sewage, industrial waste, and agricultural runoff. This pollution has affected the health and cleanliness of the river. However the ganga water did not Spoilage for coming centuries if government continue the Namami Gange Programme for long-term visions for Ganga rejuvenation.

Best ghat to see cremation is "manikarnika ghat " it has 10 or so bodies simultaneously burning. Right next to it is kashi vishwanath temple 1 of the holiest site in hinduism.

Avoid Varanasi, kamakhya and a few other places. These are not touristic places. Always Take a bath and wash your clothes after visiting burning ghats. U were smart to avoid the water. Most touristic hindus avoid such places. Only the religious one's visit.

That is most sacred river for us ....Please don't say every time That " I don't want to touch Ganga"...We call it Mother Ganga ..We have lots of sentiments with that holy water....

It's "sacred" to you but not for her. Neither do you have any proof to prove that it is somehow sacred. In fact it is due to this blind sentiment of yours that you deny seeing the dirt and continue further polluting the river. So shove your Sentiments up your back and stop acting like an entitled child that people need to constantly attend to your feelings. By demanding her to appease your feelings you are making her compromise on her sensibilities. Why should she? Why should a sensible person deny the disgust he/she feels to the floating filth that is visible with his/her own eyes?
