For the record, Chinese - Indian food in China Town of Kolkata is different from Chinese - Indian food in all over India. The earlier is just improvised type and hence little different from original while later is adapted type and hence huge difference from original.
Chinese food in India is usually inspired by Hakkan style or Sichuan style. Sichuan is very close to India and is famous for very spicy food which is likely why it got so popular.
Try veg Manchurian! It’s veggie balls made from cabbage in Manchurian sauce. They’re amazing! I’m definitely trying the hot and sour soup now. I order at least one new dish every time I get Indian, and I get Indian at least once a week. We have a Honest location where I live, too. Another great video!

You should try "Litti Chokha". It is the pride of Indian state of Bihar. It requires very less ingridient and is very healthy and can be preserved for a week without refrigerator.

Apart from Kolkata, there was a few migrations of Chinese people from the Hakka region who settled in Shillong from 1870s upto 1930s when Shillong was the capital of the Assam Province under the British Raj. There are still a few Chinese descendants living & running restaurants in Shillong.

Veg manchurian noodles, veg hakka noodles, gobi manchurian and manchow soup are my favourite. I recommend you to try manchurian noodles and manchow soup next time. Sometimes they make chinese dishes too spicy. I like medium which tastes best imo.
Thats SOYA SAUCE which give this fried rice some nice aroma and a beautiful color also... India have so many dishes with some different touch at every city... full of tastes in both veg and non-veg category... visit India and try the signature and traditional dishes of every city and you'll fall in love with them with the tastes which burst in your mouth and I bet for this... 😉
Indo-chinese food quite popular (since 90s) along with traditional food in India, we keep eating it. It is Indian style made means we do not use all typical chinese sauces/ methods here. Our tomato sauce too taste different. chinese who travel here too enjoy our India style. edit: chinese owned restaurants came to India in 70s. But Indo chinese-became popular from late 80s and 90s (mostly restaurants), when India launched its own noodles/ sauces products. Since 2000s they are everywhere as street food.

I have tried Chinese food in China and the Indian Chinese food in India. Hands down the Indian Chinese food is way better than the real Chinese food. The Indian masala does the whole work.
The first dish was veg manchow soup with noodles. Hot and sour does not have noodles. Last night I had the machow soup in dinner with paneer kolhapuri and tandoori roti being a vegetarian.
Good to see you again, but for the real Indo- Chinese food you definitely have to come down all along to India so that you can have much more clear picture..
