It's interesting how Lucas seems to understand the ... "spectacle" of pulp adventure better - with his ideas about the Holy Grail and haunted castles and such - while Spielberg seems to understand character arcs better, and together they are able to tie one to the other, making the Grail search analogous to reconnecting with his father in the same story.

To me his most memorable roles throughout his long career are General Veers in Empire Strikes Back & Grand Maester Pycelle in Game of Thrones even though he has acted in other huge franchises like Indiana Jones & James Bond. What a career: he’s acted in Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Indian jones & a James Bond film. Not many actors can claim to be a part of four of the biggest franchises in cinematic history, let alone one. Spotted Julian Glover on a train heading out from London Waterloo mid-2000s. Late at night, I was drunk as a skunk, but he was more than generous conversing about Empire Strikes Back and Last Crusade before I had to stagger off at Putney. Top bloke.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Temple Of Doom, and The Last Crusade ARE my favorites. When The Last Crusade was released in 1989, that would be it for me without realizing it. The other 2 do not exist nor will they be part of the collection.
