The film had just the right amount of practical effects. Movies have now shifted into an era where green screen/CG effects are so common that they induce boredom. You know that the actor/stuntman is not immersed in any kind of real action, and it feels empty to the viewer. The boat chase, shootout, fighting, and ultimate destruction (via propeller) was a great scene/sequence. This is by far the most rewatchable of all the IJ films. And I dare say a better father/son duo has not existed in cinema… at least not in action/adventure films. Just an all around great cast in general. Now I need to go watch it again… 🙂

Harrison holding the rat, loving on it was so wholesome. Dude is awesome. With him you get what you get- a lovable, real curmudgeon.

All that stuff with the propellor was very real and is missing from todays green screen movies.

To be honest, i fancied alison doody more than karen allen and kate capshaw. It’s a bit upsetting that she was so young when they filmed it though. Ford/Jones was pretty mature by Crusade for a girl in her 20s.

This is delightful to see all these years later, excluding KK's appearance, of course.

Why is everybody talking about how fun, crazy, scary filming these things are and the Coattails Kennedy comes in with “unfortunately the females had to put up with more” type comment? She loves to play a victim.

Still sad that the amazing Indiana jones and the fate of atlantis, an insanely good adventure point n click game by Lucasarts, never made it to the big screen. It was never meant to be! It is what it is I guess!

Can't compare practical to the CG mush of four and five. So, so, so much better.

Funny watching movie makers talking for 25minutes about how they created a shot. Today it would be, "well we paid a guy to cgi it dummy."

even this making of was better than Dial of Destiny, no green screen, no head replacements but all in camera effects, location shooting and having the actors do as much as they can.

Yip, you can see Kathleen Kennedy's radical feminism coming through as she goes on about how the females in the movie have to suffer the most, forgetting that they dropped River Phoenix into a container of snakes, Harrison Ford into a tomb of snakes, Harrison Ford into a caves of spiders, as was his companion who had spiders crawling all over him in Raiders. I always find it remarkable that ideologically driven people like Kennedy only see victims where it is convenient, and ignore all the rest.

Don't be surprised if Kennedy decides to remake The Goonies as she worked on the film as well. Her name is on the intro credits...I was shocked to see that years later 😭😭😭😭

Without question Indiana Jones and the last crusade was the best of all three of the Indiana Jones movies they should’ve stopped there it was the final film of the first trilogy and they didn’t need to make the second third and fourth on the fifth movies the fact that the last movie was not directed by Steven Spielberg’s proof positive that the movie was destined to flop
