In preparation of watching the new Indiana Jones Movie, The Dial of Destiny, I went back and watched all the previous installments. Seeing all the cool and interesting Military Surplus Firearms in the first three films: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade, inspired me to make this video covering all the guns of the franchise. These movies have awesome Milsurp Arms but the Studio didn't get everything correct. The Indiana Jones franchise was a massive part of my childhood and I'm sure it had a hand in my love of firearms. This video was a labor of love and I hope you guys enjoy it! Long live Harrison Ford, Long Live George Lucas, Long Live Steven Spielberg!
Thanks for Watching!

That submachine gun with the magazine on the right side is the MP-35. It also has a charging handle that has to be rotated upwards 90 degrees before you pull it to the rear just like a bolt-action rifle. It was essentially intended to have similar ergonomics to the Kar98k where you always hold onto the gun with your support hand as you reload it and cycle the action. Forgotten Weapons has a great video on it.

Good catch! I remembered the mp40 and one looking like a sten. Can't rely too much on my memory these days 😅

I didn't realize how many times Spielberg uses the "one bullet kills many people" shot - as well as the "surprise" head shot - in his films. Also great catch noting Sean Connery gets shot with Bond's favorite PPK... That had to be planned by someone.

The main difference between the 1917 and the hand ejector is mainly caliber and loading. The 1917 was designed to use half moon clips. That’s about it. The P38 also did technically exist at the time but it just want adopted until 1938. It was still in the prototype stage

In the last crusade, the Hatay guards are carrying mauser m1895 carbines. And in the desert fight, the the grail protectors soldiers are carrying m1916 spanish mauser and Czech v2.24.

In the case of the last crusade the mp40 could be a stand in for the mp38

Unfortunately, no matter how cool the p38 is, it is not strong enough to go through 3 people, but it doesn't change the awesomeness of the scene

Love your enthusiasm in all of your videos. Even when you get crap from Hunters lodge or RTI. Lol. Love the content being a milsurp enthusiast. You look to have a nice collection and I love add to my own any chance I get. My newest acquisition is a Chinese 1969 SKS. Cheers to you!!

Anither time frame error. Dial of Destiny takes place in 1969, the Ingram/Cobray M11 "Mac11" submachine gun was not produced until 1972.

The Martini in the still image at 7:39 looks almost like a conversion rifle or an IC1 rifle. It clearly has what appears to be a Lee Metford style front nose and bayonet lug. If that is the case, it is likely that this Martini was a .303 conversion as the Lee Metford either was or has already come into general issue. Good way for the empire to make use of some of it's older carbines and rifles. I first saw Crusade the year it came out. I was 6 and that is when I first saw the Walther P-38. Unfortunately, this firearm would go unidentified for about another 13 years until I started collecting. I finally got mine at the same auction I got my Eddystone at. All matching with no import marks for about $400.00. I have only fired it once in the 19 years I had it. I would love to get a C-96 someday. I loved those from the movie as well. I remember the scene where they are coming down the stairs in the library and that is where you get a really good look at em right before they knock Brody out. Awesome looking handgun. I want one so bad!

As I always complain about man Milsurps, where are the cleaning rods???? During the day, these rifles would have had cleaning rods... Looks like the importers who provided the Kar 98K's to the studio didn't have cleaning rods either. I often think that there must be a giant building somewhere that is full of cleaning rods lol.

imfdb says the pearl handeled nickel plated top break revolver is a Smith and Wesson Safety Hammerless and the other one carried by the "waiter" is a Smith and Wesson model 10 (at that time it would have been called an M&P).

As much as I love the Indiana Jones films (I’m even fond of Crystal), they’re not the most historically accurate films such as Raiders of the Lost Ark showing German forces stationed in Egypt in 1936 or Last Crusade’s redesigned Mk VII tank, which does look magnificent.

The machine gun you show Indy shooting in the last crusade is most likely an MP38. If you look closely you can see the main tube is corrugated and not smooth like the MP40.

The nickel plated revolver looks like a Harrington & Richardson possibly in either .38 or .32.

It was a fantasy movie about elite spies, so kind of give them possible access to proto-type weapons for the year. Now, the missing ark and super-natural whatevers, are definitely breaks the history books. 😆

Kind of like this video, many movies are for some reason viewed from a mirror image. Your gladiator poster is a prime example of movie mirroring.

Did you get it right? The rifle you are showing has the bolt handle on the wrong side; possibly due to the fact that your video is a mirror image.

I was always upset with raiders of the lost ark, and the germans using mp38/40, in 1935/36.. otherwise I still love indy!

You're gonna spend money to watch the Dial of Dysentery? Phoebe Waller-Bridge the ostrich woman is the most annoying thing ever. I saw a clip where soldiers in 1969 Egypt had M16A2 rifles and some henchman guy was using a MAC-11. So, they definitely didn't "get it right" in that new trash film.

The new movie was horrible. I made it a whole 10 minutes and that was painful. The special effects were horrible horrible and the old guy didn’t do a good acting job. The whole thing was a bunch of tired old actors doing woke work. Nice work as always I might have to watch the movie in full just to identify the cool weapons

Right?! After 30 minutes I was wanting to play on my phone for something to entertain me while I waited for the movie to end.
