@2005Aztek agreed. Even with the massive inflation over the past couple of years, Brian's hats are still an incredible value. You really get some quality bang for your buck with a Screencapped.
It’s two years later and the price for the 100% beaver hat is still the same. And you get free shipping in the US. Thank you for the great review. I am looking forward to my Screencapped Indy fedora.
@ Captain Westicle - Looks great bro!! I'm still adoring my AdVintage Last Crusade Harrison! Your gear videos have been a huge help in upgrading my gear for when I go back to work!! (Found everything, just need toe $$$!!!) Fortune and Glory!!!
Pretty sure you just sold me on the LC hat. I thought I wanted the TOD but then I saw a pic of his distressed LC on some website with a bunch of the hats he's sold, and that threw me for a loop. I might get an LC from him and a TOD from Steele & Jones. I'm out of my mind.
Lots of good information in this review. All the hats look great. Just one correction, your wife's hat is not an Adventurebilt Legacy, but is a Penman Indy hat. Penman's Adventurebilt Legacy all have the Adventurbilt liner instead of his Penman liner, and he does not allow modifications to the Adventurebilt Legacy line. This is from my understanding. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I believe you are correct about the liner. However, this hat was custom made for my wife, before Penman's Adventurebilt Legacy line was officially released. It IS an Adventurebilt, in look, feel, and construction, but may not be considered an OFFICIAL Adventurebilt, due to the fact that the line of hats had not been officially released yet.
Hi! Thanks for the video. First, where can I find your Indy films? Second, I just ordered a Last Crusade Screencapped in beaver, modeled after the Tank battle scene and really looking forward to it. Hopefully it’ll be here before my wife and I head to Tennessee this fall to do some hiking. Just curious how thick the felt is? It looks thinner than my Akubra Federation Deluxe which is itself pretty thin.
I own a couple of Akubras as well, and I would say that the thickness between the felts is pretty much identical. The Screencapped MIGHT be a little thicker, but probably only by a couple millimeters. As for my fan films, I have two in the works right now. The completed one you can find on this channel, Indiana Jones and the Golden Plates. Enjoy! :)
That honestly depends on your build. The Hero copies the jacket made for Harrison Ford, with broader shoulders but a slimmer waist. If you are an athlete, or you lift weights alot, or anything else that would give you a "V-cut" figure, you should probably go with the Hero. If you're just a regular guy with a regular build, you probably want to get the regular version.
Question (If it isn’t too much trouble): Could you supply the links to the sites you used for your current favorite Indy gear? I’m just trying to find the right sites, cause some of them have duplicates so I don’t know which one is the true site
Well, Wested.com would be a good place to start. Jacket and boots from them. Pants, shirt, bag, and bag strap would be from whatpriceglory.com. Screencapped can be found through Facebook. For the whip, if I was to buy one today, I would probably go through Trinity Whips, which you can also find on Facebook. Hope this helps! :)
@@captainwesticle1654 thank you! I’m planning on going for the jacket and the leather bag from Wested (because I just need a good new bag, and the vintage Gas mask bags won’t hold a ton of weight depending on the condition), but I plan on buying a accurate one down the line. I’ll have to weigh my options between the Wested shirt and the whatpriceglory shirt (because of the added shipping costs from both sites if I chose the glory shirt). I’ve already got my screencapped raider on the way (Brian was amazing to communicate with. Very patient man). I’m also looking at the belts from Wested. The boots and accurate pants are probably going to be last additions to the costume for me, since I have a good pair of boots (not accurate) already, and I don’t have the free cash really to be spending an extra hundred on pants.
@@captainwesticle1654 for your whatpriceglory Indy bag, would you say it could hold a bit of weight? I’m needing to replace my sidebag (an old ammo bag) because it’s getting super warn out. I’m trying to decide between the glory bag and the Wested leather bag for both cosplay and daily use. Your input about the Glory bag will help me decide
@@captainwesticle1654 Thank you! I’m already in contact with him! Just in the process of getting info about his material sourcing and stuff before I ultimately decide on him. Right now, I’m stuck between Advintage and Screencapped, since Penman isn’t taking orders at the moment. I was originally going to get an Everyman Raiders, but as I stated before, Penman isn’t taking orders until after the summer, I believe.
