"Happy Days" takes place in the 1950's. It was like a nostalgic trip to the past. The Fonz was White, but the character always hated bigotry and racial prejudice. He was a lover, not a fighter. It started as a segment on the variety show "Love, American Style" as the story of the week and was so popular with high TV viewing ratings that producer Garry Marshall turned it into a full series that ran from the 1970's into the 1980's.

Just so you know, sitcom stands for situation comedy (as opposed to stand-up comedy, sketch comedy, romantic comedy, etc.).

Arthur Fonzarelli aka The Fonz aka Fonzie. Only Mrs Cunningham called him Arthur.

Happy Days is much older than I ever remember it being. But then again, it was obviously set in an earlier period then when it was airing.

I am glad you chose and enjoyed Happy Days TV comedy sitcom for a reaction too. I used to watch the show back in day when I was in high school, it brings back memories of the early 80's.

You should check out Jack Tripper on Three's Company...probably the best comedy of its time.

The Loud Guys might not recognize an older Henry Winkler without knowing to look for him. They've already watched Scream (where he plays the school principal) and The Water Boy (where he plays the football coach). I would also recommend Little Nicky (where he has a small cameo as himself).
