With these mega-mini indie-roundups "and some more..." always keen to see something innovative and different pop out of the wood pile. Dome-Keeper - A Keeper's Duty - Althought not new/experimental as such, is the way to go with the double-game combo in one concept combining so well and just fleshing out much more content around that fun game loop. Glad to see it at the front of the queue in this line-up.
Travellers Rest looks so good, but it kills me inside when I see those endless lists of food menu items and think about having to micromanage all those for all customers, continuously, getting the ingredients for each, etc. It's as if in a combat-focused game, you had to use a specific different skill/magic for each enemy, with tens and tens of skills to pick from; it'd get very old very quickly. I've loved the similar games I've played, until they got that specific, but it looks like this one will end up on that shore too.
8:04 Will make you hate humanity... As always thanks for consolidating and informing us of the notable releases. So many options and your recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Since you covered Star Wars bounty hunter, another non indie game I would highly recommend is Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. It's a Capcom game that feels like an indie passion project. You'll love it, given your love for tower defence games.
@@nguyen5762 No it's a 100% reasonable complaint. There is nothing as fundamental as jumping in games like this, so not getting this right is absolutely bizarre 40 years after it has become the norm in retro games It's always rewarding to gauge the exact height you need for a platform or an enemy, do a short-hop attack, keep your momentum, etc. and it's just objectively better than not being allowed to do that, and on the contrary, it feels weird for your character to do a moon jump when you pressed the button for only 0.02 seconds
haven’t played AA but i’d assume if that’s the case, there’s a game design reason for it? that’s an unusual enough decision that i struggle to believe it was done arbitrarily! either way, extremely unfair generalization to make about indie games!!!😤
I for one prefers double or triple jumping over time based jumping, although I still play both type of games all the same. Make take is that this is going to affect level design should the developers decide to do it.
