You can absolutely do that but it takes a little away from the spin experience. When you used cages or clip in shoes, you are able push down on the pedal but also pull up on the other side. This helps you keep a higher cadence, hit higher resistances, engage more muscles, and potentially get a better workout. But flat pedals may align better with the way you want to exercise. That is okay but there are pros to the pedals discussed. Hope that helps!

Sorry to hear that C P, that is bad luck! One question though... you had to assemble a Peloton? I have never heard of that and I thought they always did assembly and delivery.

@@Learnwithtravis when they delivered, they explianed they couldn't assemble it or take it upstairs and could only leave it in the hallway just inside the doorway due to the local rules re covid/ distancing rules in the area the delivery guys were based ? - so a real pain to carry it upstairs then try and assemble it . Then parts missing so still cant use it ......

@@cp-ku9pc I have not kept up on the Covid rules, but I thought when they dropped it off, it was still assembled. Was it Peloton or a delivery company? If Peloton still charged you their large delivery fee, you may want to check with them and see if that was correct and explain the problems. I would not be surprised if they are willing to refund the shipping cost. Sorry for all the problems. Hopefully it gets better from here!

@@Learnwithtravis I think they were delivery guys - they did spend about 15 minutes explaining how I should assemble it and giving some tips on getting it upstairs - Thanks for the suggestion re asking Peleton for a part refund for shipping - I will ask.

Sorry, you are using Look delta or SPD? Your cleats on your shoes need to match the pedals on the bike. SPD to SPD or Delta to Delta. Are they moving on the show or in the pedal? I did have to tighten my Look Delta cleats more than I thought originally to stop them from moving on my shoes.

You got it. If you want to use Peloton shoes, you need pedals that are look delta. I have no experience with this brand but here is an example of a pedal that has both look delta and SPD in case you ever decide to switch shoes. amzn.to/3cThedl

I tried looking into this multiple times so I had a good product to recommend to people. I could never find anything. What most people say is to go to a bike shop and get a custom shoe made\ordered that is a perfect fit for you. Good luck!

I've never used clip on shoes for my spin classes. I'm thinking of just exchanging the pedal to a cage since I can't seem to figure the cleats.

Hey Claudia! A couple options. First, try getting the bi-material look delta cleats. They seem to be a little stronger and slip in and out easier. An example here: amzn.to/3a5tDdu Second, you can switch out the pedals and your cleats to SPD. This has been done plenty of times and works well. Hope that helps!

I have looked for this before and just did again. Honestly, there do not seem to be a lot of options. I linked one I found below but the answer in the Peloton community is almost always to go to a local bike shop and get fitted. Normally I do not like extended warranties, but with bikes I think it is a good idea. Mostly because the screens are so expensive to replace if something happens.

@@Learnwithtravis Turns out that i have a 1/2" screw on my crank. I was told I could add an adapter/extender to make it work with the 9/16" pedal fitting. thoughts?

@@mikeasmel What bike are you trying to do this on? An adapter could do the trick, but you put a lot of force into these pedals and an adapter adds another point of failure and not sure I love the idea. I am hoping there are pedal replacements that work directly without an adapter.

Do you a reference for this? I have heard this is not true but I honestly don't know for sure. I was reading the Peloton website and they say they recommend changing the pedals yearly. I saw nothing stating it would void warranty.

Thanks Andie_USA! Where did you see that the IC4 does not show resistance? It does not output resistance to the Peloton App but it does show it in the form of "level" on the IC4 display (Same as Bowflex C6). When I tested this model that is what I experienced as well. Unless they changed something, it should do that. As far as other bikes... those are the only ones that I know of which blows my mind. With the popularity of Peloton, I can't believe we don't have 50 options. I reached out to Sunny but they never reply. I do have the Stryde on my list of bikes to get in the future. I have 5 or 6 bikes already here waiting to be reviewed so it might be a little while. Just added the VeloCoreto my list as well!

I called Schwinn and their waiting time is 50 minutes... The Bowflex VeloCore just came on the market last week or so - looks cool and I am considering it, but need to see your review first. 😉 Thank you for you do here - I really does help!
