hi! with the kind of led lights i use, i try to keep the plants 1-3 inches below the lights

yes you can elevate the lights if you want. but i find it easier to place a platform (like a solid styrofoam) under the plants and lift them up to the lights. As the plant gets higher, i just change to lower platforms.
