She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. It's more amazing that at 13, this was her arrangement designed to fit the confines of a two-minute window on the show. She didn't win because her parents and her uncle/manager wouldn't sign the AGT standard contract and sign away all her rights to this and other performances. She won in that she got exposure to the American audience that has catapulted her to fame on RU-vid, and a contract with Republic Records that allows her far more creative freedom than most record contracts.
