I'm Serena Pruett, the operations manager here at SDHQ Motorsports. We just moved into this building, this is our brand new state of the art facility, it is double the size of our old facility, we are now 30,000 sqft. When we originally opened in 1999, it was a single bay, single person, working on trucks in a showroom about the size of this table. We have come a long way in the past 20 years, and I have been lucky enough to be a part of it for the last 16.
Ryan originally started this company back in 99, when he was unable to get the parts to get his own job done. He was looking for premium products, and all the products that were offered to him were merely just the cheapest thing anyone can find. So the next day he opened up shop, started doing things on his own to get exactly what he wanted. And there was a following for it. He became known as Mr. Superduty in the offroad world.
Working on people's vehicles, you know, people have toys and they want to find a company they trust to do everything for them. After you complete their truck, they love it.
They also have a UTV, they wanna get that worked on, they also have a Sunday car, they wanna get that worked on. So the market kind of morphed from SDHQ offroad to SDHQ Motorsports.
That being said, we do cater to all vehicles. Because the same fitting that your using on a trophy truck, is gonna cross over to a UTV, a sports car, a race car and everything in between.
My dad raised us growing up to make everything go as fast as we can. I was about 7 years old and we had our own go-kart track because my parents owned their own construction company. So I had a 5hp Briggs and Straton motor that ran on alcohol, and went about 80mph. That being said everything i had, had to be modified. So as soon as I got my F-150 when I turned 16, the first thing I did was exhaust, tune, wheels and tires, had to look the part and sound the part.
Our race program was specifically designed to cater to the racer. We are on site at about 36 events yearly. We are a big proponent of having the right parts at the right place, at the right time. So out at King of the Hammers, one of the main events, we are able to do a lot of good work for people. Somebody shows up at the lake bed and says, "Do you have this thing?" I don't have exactly that but i can make it out of 2 parts and get you back on the road. That goes a long way with people. We are here to develop relationships with people, and get you the right parts, at the right place.
In addition to selling the parts, we install everything we sell. We also service vehicles. So we can do anything from a new suspension kit on a vehicle, maintaining your old suspension, diagnosing death wobble problems, or some sort of queek or screek your hearing, and then rebuilding shocks is also a big part of our program. We do all that in house, as well as custom fabrication, and we do have our own line of SDHQ built products.
One of the reasons a lot of people do turn to us is we do have a lot of products in stock and ready to ship. We're one of ICONS largest distributors in the world.
As well as stocking KING and FOX products. Total Kaos and all your fabrication components. So if you need a heim, jam nut, bungs, uniballs, any of those components, we can walk you through, and put it all together piece by piece for you.
A lot of the vehicles out front are going to be shop vehicles. People wanna see what the components are, how they are applied, and what is the advantage to having them is, so, what better showcase than to have it out front, where people can see it, touch it feel it taste it if they want to, and if somebody wants to take a ride in it, we can definitely take them for a spin, so they can actually see how those components perform.

All the love to the SDHQ family and D//A. Ted Rice loves and misses you all. I just learned of his passing and he's sitting with me here in my living room while I bawl my eyes out, today. In spirit, of course. 🕊️🤍🕊️
