Hey Chuck, just wondering what oz rawhide mallet you (or anyone reading this) would recommend, as usual I went to buy one and got overwhelmed with the amount of choice. Thanks.

If a thinner leather is celected, e.g. 3oz, can it be stampped through?

Im super new to all of this, do you harden the leather before stamping?

Nope. Just wet it. (Although you can go super crazy with how you wet it, you can also just spray it.) do a search for “casing leather!” There’s some Weaver ones on the subject.
