If you told me a few years ago, companies like primary arms, holosun, and palmetto would be driving shot show I would have called u nuts. Amazing to see how far these guys have come.
Ehhh y’all see leupold brought back the mark 4 series but is a SIGNIFICANTLY more cost effective mark5 essentially? I wanted a mark 5 so bad last year but the 500 for adding illumination made me so soft. I ended up with a nightforce nx8 2.5-20x50 instead. Had leupold released the 2.5-10 mark 4 in illumination ffp for only 1200 like they have now ida also bought a sandman s with the extra money I had leftover. Leupold is killing the game this year. But what do you expect when you get DOD contracts as your bread and butter? I’d be like LMT and go zero money in marketing because those who know, know it’s the best you can possibly buy which is why the best have them. Can’t really blame AimPoint and leupold for staying at the top of the food chain. However that sig Romeo 4 XT pro has officially won my heart as my piggyback optic and I thank Sig for twisting my arm into liking them post the Swiss to usa move.
The thing is, a lot of our traditional favorites dispise the civilians that buy their products and focus on military and " law enforcement" organizations. They mostly refuse to sell the new stuff to disgusting civilians. They also refuse to allow the gross into their armory classes to learn their products.
Sheesh! I've got nothing but Primary Arms on all of my Ar's. Now it looks like I'll be upgrading. You guys are costing me money! Fantastic stuff! Damn you Primary Arms!
I jumped on the train. I had a slx 5x prism that ate through batteries quick. I had to pay for shipping but i got a email when they recieved the optic. 20 min later another email that they couldnt fix it and it had to be replaced. 20 min after that i got a tracking number and optic was shipped. They sent me a brand new in the box optic. Super quick. Cant say enough about that. Great job guys. Ill continue to buy more
Yep... I have had similar quality experiences with their CS. And have been able to get a real human on the phone pretty quick when I have called or requested a call back .
I had a 6.5 Grendel upper that wasn't working. They had a new upper in the air on its way before I even had a chance to package and send the one I had to them. I was sold they get my business from now on
Thumbs up to Primary Arms! If you're listening to customers then please make a mount for your magnifier that flips the magnifier either into position or out of the way and that also has a Quick Disconnect release. Many of us want the ability to take off the magnifier when it isn't needed, but also have the ability to quickly put it back on when needed and without using a tool.
Please allow me to be among the first to congratulate you [Primary Arms] for listening. I am one of those individuals that _relentlessly_ badgered you for an expanded line of GLx optics. The GLx series has quickly become my preferred optics line for general purpose configurations. FWIW, I reserve the PLx optics for serious applications only along with another manufacturer that shall remain nameless. Clearly you take what you have learned from the SLx series and applied that to the GLx. This begs the question: What would a PLx Prism even look like?! I will be waiting for your response come Shot Show 2025. Nevertheless, Thank You in triplicate. Stay classy my friends. Side note - You can fit a surprising amount of stuff in the C8 Corvette.
Please put a locking elevation turret on the plx-c. It's got enough magnification to shoot at distances where wind matters. I'd love to be able to run it up 3-4 mils and just hold for wind.
I very much appreciate companies like PSA and holosun. Yeah, I dont personally own any of their products. Triarc, bcm, trijicon, surefire, steiner, etc is the stuff I got post military when I got into guns as a hobby. It's expensive and it took me years to acquire/afford that stuff. Looking back on it now... a ton of that stuff is needlessly overpriced (government contracts, american made, and juicy proft margins all play a part). I mean, its great stuff (triarc did take a massive dump after I bought from them tbf). Seeing companies like PSA, holosun and primary arms really bridging the gap and bringing quality, capable stuff to the market at more affordable prices makes me happy af. Is it all "just as good?" Maybe, maybe not. But it seems like it's getting damn close at significantly lower prices. And honestly...I'm thinking of making my next build using stuff primarily from these companies. Worst case scenario, I end up with a capable setup at a fraction of the cost of a more gucci build. Best case scenario...I kick myself for spending as much as I have on gucci stuff when I could've saved more of my hard earned money.
I am really impressed with Primary Arms and PSA. Heck, I purchased a PSA product (very happy with) and a Nova 1x6 Firewire, in late '23. Really debating if I need a 1x to go on top of it or add a canted 1x. Keep the great work!
You know what I'd like to see? I would like to see them at the BDC to the 507 C Vulcan handgun sight. If they can make it to where you can turn it on and turn it off that would be even better but I'm shooting my Glock 19 out to 300 yds I'm just kind of holding up in the air somewhere. Once you get it you get it but that initial figuring it out process with no reference point sucks. Plus it would be good for the people that we use these for pcc"s
I love that prisms have etched reticle, but my preferred setup is a red dot and magnifier because of the unlimited eye relief in "Red dot only" mode. But this changes things. I'm looking forward to picking one up and checking it out
Sorry I think nova scopes in the plx line are dumb as F, the reticle simply is not good enough in the higher range magnification. I would rather have the current PLX-C griffin reticle personally.
Is there a reason we can't get a Nova dot SFP optic that still has wind holds? Still the only options on the market that give you a bright reticle with wind holds are the nearly $3k FFP offerings from Vortex and NF.
With this reticle technology you can not have floating elements. It is not an etching. to have floating elements you have to change to a different illumination or a dual focal plain. Both of those options are vastly more expensive.
The MD-21s does not come with the mount in the video. that is the new SLx 2.24" mount that is available separately. The dot comes with an absolute and lower 1/3rd mount.
I too prefer dials but don't make me turn it from daylight setting all the way past 1 to turn it off and then back to daylight bright at 6+. Put an off position between each brightness setting like on some scopes.
@@wymanscorneroftheworld8777 I would highly recommend this then. I have the SLX and I ended up selling my eotech because I just found that I preferred the microprism more. I’ll be picking up the GLX the day it becomes available.
i wish they would do a crosshair in their 1x-5x series of optics. I just don't think a chevron is the best aiming mark. I know it's quick, but I really want a crosshair.
I know that the red dots are probably the least popular of these new optics, but I think they’re gonna give PA’s red dot lineup a much needed upgrade, especially at the sub $250 range.
This is going to be my sticking point. I'm newish to the world of LVPO and the eyebox is where I'm losing time at my current skill level. While I can surely train through it, at the moment, I'm way quicker to first shot with my red dot. When get o. The gun for the LVPO, I'm only seeing black or partial black, then I have to move my eye into position. However many tenths of a second that is, I don't have to take that additional time with the dot. I'd already be on target and maybe even shooting already.
We actually played with a dot that size in prototyping... The problem is it is just too small to illuminate with etch and fill, not enough surface area. Then, without illumination, it disappears!!
I just wish PA would put effort into piggybacking red dots. Their new prisms dont have a mount like their previous prism models, and their PLx scope cap with a red dot mount is A) only for the PLx mount B) only for RMR, so you cant piggyback over a prism or over a scope if you go through PA. And no, a prism shield that bends easily isnt a red dot mount, its unfettered optimism and idiocy.
@@oldandbankrupt ive been looking at them. I wanted a mil grid like the new ones but it appears I have to settle for an ACOG style BDC or get an LPVO. BDC it is.
Shit…I was Blown Away after getting FC v Behind my Gen2 PLxC 1-8x24mm ACSS Raptor M8 Meter Reticle. It's Unreal How long how close it is performance wise to the Vortex Viper1-10x that is 1k+ More than it. Even PA GLx 2.5-10’s are Sweet Ass Little SPR/DMR optics for the price, with solid glasses & rock slid repeatable turret clicks w/ Zero Stop.
The GLX 1X is nice, but not a real improvement if you already have the SLX. It already had huge eye relief and a lot of people actually prefer a rheostat.
Got a SLx Nova from them for my airsoft replica and was wondering if I wanted a second one for my Saiga in 223. I guess i'll save up for the PLx-C Nova :D
Honestly a slightly modified nova reticle would be badass in a hunting scope, dots accurate on 3 or 4x and the hashs accurate on the higher magnification. That would be badass. Idk why nobodies done something like that on a 2nd FP (maybe there's a reason lol)
On a SFP scope the dot is accurate and zeroed through the entire magnification range. But... The bullet drop hashes are only accurate while on maximum magnification. That's just the way it is.
@oldandbankrupt yeah I know I was saying it would be cool if somebody figured out a way to put hashmarks that were accurate at full magnification and different looming hashmarks, dots or something, that were accurate on 1x. Would eliminate the main disadvantage of sfp if you could do it without over cluttering the reticle.
So, fun fact.... the stadia lines in the new PLxC 1-8 Nova and SLx 1-10 Nova are every .5 Mil at max magnification. So at half magnification (4x & 5x respectively) the stadia are lined up every mil!!
As long as aim point and others act like glock an dont move with rhe market and these companies will excel and innovate for all markets and price ranges
Agreed. Last year I spent more on PA and PSA equipment than everything else. All of their products were useful for my needs and more innovative than most of their competition. This year they both will be getting more of my $$😊
