Hey up Lads and Lasses, new to the channel is Infinite Lagrange. I will be covering this game from now on with a video every Thursday. Walkthroughs, Guides, Tips and Tricks is what my channel is about and I will be applying the same here to Infinite Lagrange. 100% agree for early economy. A good note also when docking to a node, it will not drain the node, and you can dock to a drained node and still receive the bonus rss.

Hi Damphyre what is the best way to get to expansion level 8 and save your progress in the game?

12:50 I started after the change and the base expansion UI seems fine. It's clear and easy to navigate and use.

It looked better before. It was a little bigger and you could see the graphics which is what I miss. They had all the buildings designed and stuff and they looked really good. It's fine to use just took a day to get used to the change. I still prefer the old version though, but I know there's reasons they've done it this way. It's just a shame that we've sort of lost the graphics of the old one as like I mentioned some of the buildings designs were really cool.

@@Damphyre - Ah, thanks for the explanation. That is too bad. The art in the game is great. Maybe they'll have an option to switch styles for pc or higher end mobile devices that can handle it.

@damphyre what if the entire server is privateer owned and nearly every fleet has st59 in it. I only currently have Eris 1 assault, winged Hussar and the two cruisers you get for free. What am I supposed to do? My base was just assaulted and my fleet wiped out.

Which method is more efficient when mining inside an Advanced Refining Platform? 1. Fewer large utility ships? 2. Or many medium utility ships reinforced with AC721 heavy logistics destroyer? The ARP lowers the level of resource nodes by 2, so mediums can be used to mine what used to be lvl 5 and 6 nodes. And after a recent patch, you can now mine the same node with 2 small or medium ships. Even with all that helping the case for having an army of medium ships with AC721, would using Large utility ships still be more efficient? All of this is based on the fact your mining inside an ARP. All comments and suggestions welcomed

Always large uti ships. You can't waste CP on ac721s late game otherwise your fleets going to be steam rolled. And regardless, better mining yields on large as well.

Great video. Question, do you guys ever notice your mining ships go a ridiculous route when you choose "Direct" route

Well they go direct. But extremely often they won't use their warp drives to get there and only cruise that way which is slow. There's some tricks you can do though if you're building outposts though. For example you can move a recon frigate to the location first then reinforce it with the miner then you can build the outpost and the miners travel time will be reduced.

@@Damphyre The consensus seems to be to bear through it until I get the ability to build outposts and hopefully it'll fix itself then. My problem is much like yours. Mine are using cruising mode but traveling for 58 minutes to get there cause they go wayy north first.

So I want to move my base to good rss location. But I can't dock the outpost to an asteroid. I can build it free floating in open space. If I build that and dock to it (not anchored to an asteriod) am I going to be handicapping myself? Like will my base not produce rss on its own?

It will produce resources but not as much. Guessing the reason you can't Dock is due to the asteroid level being too high which you need specific buildings in the base completed for

Quick Question: Do ore zones ever deplete due to mining? If not, then there is no difference between lv2 metal and lv4 metal right?

Yeah it's looks so at the moment. I'm not sure if they refresh after a certain time or not unfortunately.

Level 2's deplete for sure not sure about level 4 and up tho.

They all deplete. The higher level just means more per node, meaning you can mine there longer before depletion

Yes! Upgrade all miners as soon as you can. They are out right better.

Is there any difference between sending 6 large mining ships to mine the same lvl6 metal node vs sending 3 to one asteroid and 3 to another one?

Been testing that recently in the new patch it doesn't seem so. So sending a fleet of miners out to any asteroid is the same as mining from multiple.

Currently I'm decided to go against your advice of using heavy logistics in my fleet the reason behind this is simply to leveling them to 30 faster that said I only use 2 of them & I will take them out once I've got to level 30..

I did a big ship ranking video talking about all the ships, you can have a look at. I ranked it A I believe though? I actually can't remember off the top of my head.

@@Damphyre what happens if your main base is destroyed is it gone and you have to restart or something?

Well all this is correct but only if you are not at war. If you're at war you'll be able to mine for some time and enemy can come to your base and destroy it with easy. They just need wolf pack of 3. The worst thing in game is your base is like a thin paper. Can't deal real damage to a single fleet with healing uav in it and will easely fall even if enemy does not have siege ships. After that you have to wait 5h without possibility to even mine at all. So you actually need metal. A lot of it.

The Basic Mining Platform, is it an area of effect unit? I thought it was another drop off point for resources rather than tracking back to base.

the advanced version acts as a drop off point. The others are just yield boosts in their area, 10% for basic, 15% for intermediate and 20% for advanced.

@@Damphyre Ah, thank you! I’ve taken to using my armed fleet as extra cargo space but that really dampened my rate of resource income because of engine speed and the mount of time it takes to fill all that cargo up!

You can also send 2 mining ships to the same node if it's within an intermediate or advanced mining platform

Where are you seeing the asteroid information like remaining minerals and the yield? I can't find that info anywhere in game. 7:21

Once you either have a miner mining from it or if you have platform over it, you'll get that information. Think of it like prospecting.

Yes medium and large miners can still mine from small asteroids at an increased yield.

I tried dowloading from their site on my pc, but the game keeps crashing and it doesnt even let me have it on fullscreen... do you know if it is a known problem?

don't believe thats a known problem. It is a windowed game so it can't be full screen, maybe drop the graphics quality down a little bit. I had one other person mention that fixed some crashes for him on PC.

remove the ship from a fleet and there should be a button when its docked to recycle it giving some of the materials back for it.

Did you know that you can send 2 mining ships to the same node if it's within an Intermediate or Advanced Mining Platform.

Yeah I did. It only applies to advanced and intermediate platforms. Unless they changed it again.

Best way is to watch where their fleet are coming from. You'll see a line and that willing give you a location. Also when they retreat you can find them following the line back too.
