absolutely overwhelmed right now - to be a part of this launch has been a dream come true. thank you so much for trusting my vision, and to everyone for watching
AMAZING job to Sam and the team and this project! Thank you Canon for trusting in us. The R5 helped us transform our careers and it was absolutely incredible to be a part of the new chapter with the R5 Mark II 🙌🙏
Sam made one of the best launch films I‘ve ever seen from Canon! Those images look more like they were shot with a high end cinema camera…it‘s crazy what he and his team were able to get out of the R5 Mkii. And the whole story and concept tie it together beautifully. Actually made me interested in the camera :)
This is by far the best clip to make me understand the new camera. Beyond the art of the producer, the absolutely stunning pictures with incredible colour, sensitivity, dynamic range. Now I understand what the mark II is all about.
Wow it's awesome, I love canon ❤❤❤ My cousin's brother said to me to change Canon to Nikon or Sony products but I didn't, but I waited. I love Canon❤ I trust Canon❤ Still I'm using only canon products, camera, printers and many. ❤❤❤
Fantastic filming & editing @SamNewton! Has that same cinematic quality as ‘Living in the age of Airplanes’ by Brian J. Terwilliger! 👍🎥💻 Can’t wait to try this new R5 Mark ii @canonusa!
Well @canonusa, you gathered an awesome team on this one. You have set the bar super high. @bradleywentzel was definitely the right choice to include in the group. Would love to see more of his work featured by @canonusa!!!!
Could Sam give us any idea of run-time before overheating on a batteries without the grip so we could get an idea of what we are looking at before purchase? I'm sure RU-vid will deep dive on this shortly anyway...Nevermind Tony Northrop provides a chart which I'm guessing was provided by Canon ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-41QR3sQ49OQ.htmlsi=M6K7722VXYd25gRm&t=690
We've got a BTS video at canon.us/4d8tBQX which shows the RF35mm F1.4 L VCM lens being used. You can learn more about it at canon.us/3XajrKQ Hope this helps!
First of all, great work! Secondly I have been using and love the R5 since it launched and have pre ordered the R5markII so there is nothing more to my question than curiosity. I am wondeering why is there so much banding in the first 7 seconds of the clip? I have looked at this clip in 8K down to 2K on both my laptop and my 4k monitor but it is always there.
There is no possibility to record 8K 50 in any other format than RAW light, correct? Would be impractical for me because of the file size. So I'm a bit afraid that my old R6 MK 1 has better resolution in a manageable fileformat in 50fps than this new R5 Mk 2 😐

The big question of oversampled 4k60 is stated differently across the documents. I‘m really hoping for this feature, cause I shoot everything like this and expect a step up from my R6 Mk 1
Great shots but ruined by the vibration that wasn't in context. There's vibration on a static shot with him lying in bed... Also, we all saw Top Gun, the white shirt was a bad choice here. But VERY impressed by the camera.
