Make a major installation note early. DO NOT try to change both sides of same axle even with a helper. The logic is use the other side as a reference point is you get stuck o a step during installation. If this is a rear brake rotor change make another major helpful hint. The rust preventative coating they apply also gets applied inside the the rotor hat and that CAN be a problem, not overly common but noteworthy. Some even modern day vehicles still use a drum assembly for the parking brake. The parking brake assembly might be fine but the coating can be applied too thick and essentially becomes too smooth for the parking brake to engage.....especially on the slightest incline. One of the few if not the only part of the rotor that should be rough. Ask me how I know!!!

Sport Brakes are not hard to do. Take a look at this brake job I did on a Mustang. The procedure is very similar. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VV5MUhY4DhM.html I think the Infiniti has extra pins holding each of the slide pins in place. Pull the pins out and knock out the slide pins.

I have the same powerstop kit as you, did you notice the pad's hardware clips are different (3:39). The clips I took off the car were identical but the fronts on this kit have 2 different types that are very similar. Unless its different for left/right I have not done the passenger side yet.
@fixinit
@fixinit 2 года назад
I don’t remember receiving additional clips other than what you see on the video.

@@fixinit i just did the brakes on my car, the front hardware was all the same, but the rear brake hardware had 2 different "styles". they looked almost the same, but the gap that the rotor fits in was wider on one than the other, i think because not all the vehicles the kit is compatible with use vented rear rotors, which are wider than a non-vented rotor.

On the metal springs where you install the brake pads, do the brake pad ends need to push in on the metal spring prong? I hope my question makes sense
@daemonhat
@daemonhat Год назад
it does, and yes, they need to push the end of the spring in. it's what keeps the pads from constantly touching the rotor causing premature wear/failure.
@juanchavez3936
@juanchavez3936 3 года назад
I got one question how does the rotor get screwed. Like what bolts hold it in place? Cause I didn’t see you take anything off that holds the rotor or was it the 2 22mm bolts behind the caliper?
@fixinit
@fixinit 3 года назад
Rotors are held in place by the Lug nuts. Some cars have one or two small screws that hold the rotor in place but they are not really necessary.
