Nice. Love the video. I also love how you just Pwned some of my nerd arguments of how Drax in the movies sucks compared to how Drax is supposed to be, even dulled down. Drax is supposed to be FAR MORE of a badass, never Thanos level but at least the biggest help.

I LOVE the older art style of Marvel Comics. So dynamic and striking. Lots of heavy inks and (cross)hatching for shading unless it was white or metal or something, but it was mostly just flat colors. I'm currently reading The Amazing Spider-Man, and it's just a pleasure to see how they told the story using this style. Just lovely~

I grew up in that era of comics. They were okay. What helped them story-wise was how ignorant we generally were to a lot of science and so our suspension of disbelief was more easy to come by.

i inherited my first comics from my brother. 1976 issues of iron man and shang shi were my first forays into comics and learning english.

I like to think that Thanos and Iron Man's fight is a shout-out to the fact that Thanos debuted in Iron Man's Comic Also note at 5:36 the purple skin that both Alars and Eros have-this is because at this point the Titans were a separate species, and it wasn't until the back pages of "What if?" That A'Lars was established as being the brother of the Eternal Zuras and it wasn't until Avengers #247 that the Earth Eternals discover what happened to A'Lars and the Uranian Eternals

I'm grateful to be in the time I'm in when it comes to graphic narrative storytelling. Methods of communication has evolved in Earth 33 thus allowing for its writers and illustrators to have proportionally more opportunity to discuss, within the same amount of deadline-meeting time, details regarding the depth of themes and orchestration they apply on the Monitor-Mind.

When Thanos returned on Captain Marvel , that was a story that streched for like 10 issues.And it is excellent, there are amazing plots.lots of action , great characterization etc. Dont know if it has an official name but is when Thanos gets the cosmic.cube.An excellent story.

I first encounter this tale in Marvel Comics Digest #6, an issue focused almost entirely on Thanos. Needless to say, I was quite taken aback by how abrupt the ending seemed. We get a good introduction to Thanos, Drax, and their general world and conflict, only to say goodbye to them after only a few pages of actual fight scene. Compared to the other stories in the issue, this felt like an alternate universe in terms of pacing. Your comment about how new characters were given tryouts in best-selling books before being spun off into their own titles, and the plot point of Thanos being a robot, reminded me of another classic Marvel story. There's an early story from the Human Torch feature in Strange Tales in which Johnny Storm faces a Captain America robot, roughly a month or so before the real Cap debuts in Avengers #4. This being a Silver Age Marvel anthology story, the fight is fairly inconsequential, but does have some strong Kirby posing as he gets a handle on Cap right from the opening splash. At the end, the text captions all but beg for reader responses to wanting to see more of Cap as an actual character. It's a real gem of a comics artifact.

I never would pick up a comic from the 70 just because... its so alien. so to have you make it more familiar actually might get me go out and such a comic from that time... and even if it does not, Its still vary entertaining.. Death of silver surfer is one of the best stories I’ve read.

The new origin is cool too.. Thanos starts out as a trickster type god/eternal.. and he tricks some Titans or Celestials or something into fighting to the death so he can claim their power because he wasn't powerful enough to kill them himself.. kind of a self-made God.

Thanos is the ultimate villain, hands down my favorite bad guy ever. Especially with badasses like Dr Doom, Apocalypse, Omega Red, Onslaught, Kang, Ultron, Juggernaut, Red Skull, Carnage, Venom, Doc Ock, Taskmaster etc walking around. Thing is...Thanos would be their boss if they teamed up, couldn't see anyone of them bossing around Thanos lol

It would be awesome if he teleport down to the planet, the Nova Corp surround him. Thanos? I'm spent. But Rob, telling a well told epic in a few issues at most just meant the old writers could just write without filler.

I get what your saying rob, but story's today move so fucking slowly. It's hard to advance and character now, also the slow move I think is part of why characters die so quickly. Like I like long form story telling but I have to ask when does it stop being a long story and become an event, it's hard to tell them apart now because of this I think shorter story arcs need to come back if only to enhance event comics because right now they just bleed into each other and it's part of the fatigue I think.
