Modern debate, should I use coti clip-on thermal or set up a helmet mounted thermal combo?
COTI - version we have here is working only with battery pack. We get 6 working hours with two 18650 batteries. Resolution 640x512. Quite 'calm' for your eye and brain. With battery back quite bulky setup. Weight 78g added at front of your NV (mono/bino/pano) Can't use without night vision or during day. Price over 4000€ + your night vision device which is mandatory.

ML19 - Works with one CR123 battery for approx 1 hour. With 16650 battery cap extender we get 4 hours of work and USB-c port supports standard battery banks (7000 mph battery bank can get us 8+ hours) Resolution 384x288. Digital display. Different palettes (black/white/red hot). Electronic magnification x1-4. Electronic compass. Unfortunately no inner recorder. Weight 225g. Can be used also during day, hand-held or with helmet-mountable minirail type of mounts/bridges (supports minirail-dovetail adapters). Not firearm recoil compatible. Price 2150€

For longer work, to brain, Coti feels calmer . Also with Coti we can 'increase or keep' night vision field of view. On the other hand ML19 thermal gives in our opinion faster surrounding awarness. Wearing it as helmet mounted thermal, first time might be unfamiliar, brain just couldn't decide which picture to work with, but it's trainable. We recommend white phosphor, because it feels more natural with white display.
Any questions? Lets have a chat in comments, Facebook or email info@falconclaw.eu.

I like jerry-c, make my PVS14 more helpful and also can use separately with eyepieces.

Not sure your field of view comparison is really fair, apples to apples so to say. The Jerry-C is listed as a 30 degree field of view, but the ML19 is only 19 degrees. So, yes, the Jerry-C doesn't cover the whole display, but it is actually much wider. Is it not?

The clip on has a smaller lens. That means, wider FOV but smaller detection range. Clip on's are always very poor on performance. Only people who don't have the knowledge about thermal technology and just wants the new cool thing, thinks they can replace a Thermal mono with their ECOTI... Unfortunately that's not how it's work. You can't replace a good big lens monocular. It's physically not possible. COTIs like the Jerry C are only effective on close range! This is stuff for CQB. If you bought a COTI, you still need a Thermal monocular with 35mm lens. An ECOTI/JERRY C is a nice add on for constant thermal overview in very close range. But you still need the real thermal monocular for being effective. In the best case, you have both of them. ECOTI/JERRY and in your pocket a nice thermal monocular with 35mm lens. One of the reasons why articulation is so important.

@@aesthetic8780 Its not made to be a direct replacement though (clip on) its SUPPLEMENTAL for detection. Nothing more nothing less. People comparing them like this is silliness.

I like my ML19, have it bridged with a PVS-14 and on a 5000mAh external battery.

Hi, is there any reason why the ecoti also picks up the trees in the background when the trees dont give off a heat signature?

Are you able to get the ml19 to collimate with the pvs14 or do you have ghosting? Would you say you have extra narrow or wide eyes? I can't get my breach close enough to my pvs14 due to the housings hitting each other for the image to merge, wondering if the ml19 mini can die to the smaller body.

I know this is an extremely late reply but Have you looked into the nocturn housings?

What's the differences between CE5 and C5?
@jubalgilbert7681
@jubalgilbert7681 3 года назад
CE5 uses a battery pack exclusively at 2.78 oz, 2x 18650’s in battery pack 16hrs C5 can use a cr123(less then 2 hours)(3.8 oz) or a 18650 adapter(5.2oz) Can also get adapter to battery pack but you buy separately

How does the ecoti compare to the…coti
@DaveSmith-cp5kj
@DaveSmith-cp5kj 5 месяцев назад
The primary difference is the ecoti is compatible with blue force tracking which puts augmented reality markers to prevent friendly fire and coordinate troops. You won't get blue force tracking if you aren't in the military so it has virtually no benefit, consider them basically the same.
