Remove the spring from the belt tensioner and have it cable operated, you've now built a clutch so the boat doesn't instantly start moving the moment the engine starts.
Hello great project! You should place a fan guard behind your pilot seat as if the fan malfunctions the blades would act as wooden arrows or spears. adapt safety then start selling them.. as a home project kit...

Ok, good idea, and seems that it works, the only thing left is, you need a roe, and chicken wire in-between the seat and the metal frame of the propeller, for safety.

Sure you dont get as much power out of a fan pushing air as a prop pushing water but it does have the advantage of being extremely shallow draft. If your use case is geting around bayou or swamp where your often going over areas only inches deap you really cant beat a fan boat. Just needs to put a mesh cover over that thing because damn does that unguarded prop give me the heebygeebiez.

Great job. However, for an airboat, you should have built a flatter hull that would plane much more easily. With this design, you would be better off with a long-tail motor system with a propeller in the water. With your skills you could quickly build a flatter planing hull and then put this air-drive system on that hull. For the air-drive, you may want a bigger engine and at least build a three or four-bladed propeller.
Is it more efficient to drive a boat (a twin hulled catamaran) using air propulsion or water propulsion (standard outboard)? I'm currently completing a partially built 40ft catamaran that I want to make solar powered.
@@fredflintstone1428 It depends on whether if you plan on having displacement hulls or planing hulls. Most likely you want displacement hulls. Therefore, I would suggest you research displacement hulls - longer narrower is more efficient - consider supertanker hulls. Also research stepped hulls - with "hard chines." It all depends on the projected hull-speed.
