I just got done watching a police bodycam footage of a woman who claimed she wasnt drunk, she obviously was and she was also refusing to walk anywhere with them after they put cuffs on, they were being nice and just talking with her and one of her friends started taking photos of her behind while posing and they were making jokes about how she's gonna get a mugshot done tonight etc...

I used to hang with some proper hard guys back in the 90s, I've seen people dragged out of premises and beaten into intensive care for not pulling their head in after they'd been given multiple warnings to stop being disrespectful and acting the fool. That kid in the grocery store is hella lucky.
I ride a motorcycle. Came back to my bike to see a whole family taking turns sitting on it to take pictures. One of my fellow riders lost their MIND on them. Don’t sit on something that you don’t own.
The gas station phot shoot was insane to watch, like the ambulance one is gross but not surprising as someone will always cross the line of what’s appropriate or tasteful but the gas station one? I couldn’t even wrap my head around it lmao
Totally agree on the professional photographer. I took my wedding photos on a frozen reservoir, which is open to the public. My photographer scoped out the location beforehand, and early the day of to let people know we would be shooting, and there were some people taking photos of us while we were setting up, but everybody knew we were there for a professional shoot, even if some of the things we had to do to get the shot were somewhat silly (like stand on a bunch of jackets or re-do poses with the dress swinging). It seemed like the corset model and the photographer were aware of the people around them, too, unlike people who take selfies in bizarre places, like the gas station...
i feel like regular people taking selfies in public are DIFFERENT than influencers or others being selfish/entitled in public where it impacts everyone else. i hate the idea that someone is filming me just tryna catch the best angle/lighting to send an innocent selfie to my friends 😭 like it’s literally harmless.

The car thing is WILD to me! I work at a college, and my partner picked me up from work in his truck one night and the kids climbed into his freaking pickup bed!!! What??? They didn’t know he was in it until they got out, but they just climbed in! So WILD. It’s not even a nice truck, or a bad one, just a regular ass Tacoma lmao.

I actually saw the results of the girl getting her pictures taken by the photographer and they were actually quite nice. Plus, like you said, I'm not hating it because it was an actual photoshoot.
Totally agree on that “proper photographer” thing. Having been a model for, among others, a photographer friend (I was part of her bachelor portfolio) I can say it can absolutely be awkward being in public, but you do what you can to not make a nuisance of yourself and still get the shot needed. And that looked both like an actual photographer and someone with experience modelling.
Unfortunately there aren't many "influencers" that have more than two neurons firing. You can take a, normally, reasonably intelligent person and introduce a camera and you'll see their IQ go down the drain. And it's so much worse if being an influencer is their "job". That's why I love people like you, Robert. You don't act like a total fool in front of a camera
0:53 I have thought about this a lot, and I think the answer can be complex, but it boils down to two things: 1) When the living you make online depends on living in the real world, you lose the ability to be embarrassed by acting like an idiot in public, and you can forget the rules of manners and physics (apparently). 2) Main character syndrome can be an inadvertent side effect of online engagement with your brand as an influencer when you don’t stay grounded in reality.
Thank you for the comment about photographers at 7:00!!! I am a complete disaster, while encouraging my clients to ignore anyone watching. But I’ll never be as obnoxious as these influencers.
Being an influencer really isn’t a thing where I live. We’ve got the Bearded Bard and a gal who just got busted hoaxing (didn’t even make the news here), but that’s it. So it is hilarious during tourist season when TikTokkers come to my work (museum) & look so smug like we’re impressed. Werner Herzog, Warren Miller & Robert Redford also love this place, we aren’t getting excited about your go pro (plus Robert dances with all the ladies, I’m told, my celeb hang was with Batman beetlejuice & I just pretended he was a random stranger for 4 hours). There’s really no context where a TikTokker impresses us irl, outside of locals using it to promote cool stuff like indigenous fashion and our native hip hop (Plains Nations got the beat!) icon Supaman

if I see someone filming all obnoxious like the lass at the aquarium I do use my autism for chaotic good and walk in front of the camera or point my hand right ovwe the lens. I love hearing the tutting and I "oh sorry, I'm bad at spacial awareness, autism" and walk awkwardly away.

I have a cute dog (all dogs are cute TBF) but people take photos of her without asking. Like what are you doing?!? Just like the car thing. Why are you doing that? It's not your dog. It's kind of creepy. You don't go around taking photos of other people's kids, just because she's a dog doesn't mean you don't forget your manners and ask first. I say yes when people ask but the sneaky photos. 😤
I’m not mad at people taking pictures on the street or taking some funny pictures while pumping gas. As long as they’re not rude or causing inconvenience/damage, we should allow people to have their little ✨instagram momemts✨ without judgement haha.
The aquarium.... I have been in museum yesterday. There was influencer and her cameraman. They were literally doing it in every room of museum, blocking other people from doing it. It was infuriating. Literally, I cannot take non with my family, because they were on the way.
Sometimes in public I'll use my phone to check my makeup or like for food in my teeth and even that makes me uncomfortable. Im SO discreet. These people just have no shame....and some of them should.
