Research in Action
To introduce our ‘Research in Action’ series, we reflect on the impact of Professor Hestermeyer’s research and how it contributed to demystifying the legal and constitutional aspects of trade agreements post-Brexit within public discourse.
Professor Hestermeyer’s academic research on international law, trade law, EU law and comparative constitutional law enabled him to become a specialist adviser in parliament in 2016 and 2019, where he imparted his academic knowledge advising on the technicalities and legal questions of trade and treaty documents.
In this video, Professor Holger Hestermeyer sheds more light on how the impact of his research enabled journalists to get to grips with the more technical aspects of trade law within a post- Brexit landscape.
