The avocados looked too fresh which is probably why the slicer wasn’t going though. Avocados usually needs to be a little ripe and soft for you to be able to scoop it out.
The last item isn't for rust, it's for oil stains that get stuck at the bottom of the pan "from outside or inside". The picture you saw isn't rust it's oil stain.
Came here to watch Shu An butcher an avocado😎 1. Always check when an avocado is ripe before slicing it, the skin should be very dark and feel slightly soft. 2. The seed of the avocado needs to be stabbed with the blade firmly with a bit of force in order to remove it. For avocadoes which are more ripe, it will be removed from the flesh more easily. 3. Best to use a spoon to scoop out the avocado flesh from the skin then slice it manually. Or just use a knife for all the steps above :)
I actually stabbed my hand using a knife to depit and avocado and needed four stitches in the ER xD So my friend got me the tool and if anything, I love it the most for the depitter part.
Shu An, to open the jar from home: buy a silicone glue gun mat from the dollar store, and drape it over the lid, like you would with a tea towel, it helps to grip the lid and works like a charm for me every time :)
I see everyone saying she is not using it correctly but take in the fact that these gadgets are supposed to make things easier and the consumer shouldn't have to take a separate class to learn how to use it
There you go. I think exactly the same haha If it's made to make your like easier then you should be able to get it right on the firt 2 tries otherwise it's not doing it's job.
I think magic erasers cause micro scratches? I know if you use it on your car, you're screwed and it will severely damage the paint. What I'm getting at is, would it really be okay for pans? You don't want scratched pans.
Shu an, to open the bottle use a spoon and stick it at the side of the bottle cap. Try to pry the cap off until u hear a "pop" sound. The prying is just to pop the safety seal. Once it has popped it's very easy to turn the lid and open it :D
You need to introduce some air into the jar to unseal the vacume seal. So use a spoon and slip it under the lip of the jar cover and sort of "wrench" it open a bit. You'll hear a pop which means it's no longer vacume sealed. Then just twist it open as usual. :)
tricks on how to open jars: try lifting the lid with a spoon, you should hear the vacuum inside making a tiny pop sound as it is released. do that a few times and you should be able to open it easy. or i discovered that the silicone lids are also good to be put on top of the lid so that you can have a better grip while trying to unscrew it....
For the jar you can't get up! First try to knock the lid carefully on a hard service a couple of times, on different places and than try. If that don't work, take a spoon or butter knife, try too gett the spoon under de lid and press the lid outwards. Move around the lid. This like take away some pressure I think? These tricks and using rubber bands on lids are my go to hacks, bc I have very weak hands and wrist :)

Uh correct me if I am wrong but the way in which she used the straps were wrong. Even if the straps are very, very strong, they won't hold much because of the way she is holding it up. The straps could be extended and brought together to the center to ensure a firm grip.
Natalia Pessoa there are no chemicals in magic erasers. That’s the whole point in them. Not the name brand at least. It’s super fine sand paper type foam. It’s chemical free
Ashley Oh. I googled it and you’re right. It’s just very abrasive so I guess that’s why it may cause harm to the skin by friction. I don’t know about other brands though. It’s not chemical free though as everything is made out of chemicals and the magic eraser is made out of formaldehyde-melamine-sodium bisulfite copolymer.
I have something similar to that jar opener thing. I think it is from the 70's (been in the kitchen for as long as I can remember, and I was born in 1982), and made of metal. It's not a clamp like the silicone thing in the video, but still has the same shape and ridged inside edges for grip. It takes lids up to about 10 cm diameter as max, and smallest is, maybe, 2 cm. It even has a bottle opener on one end, and a can opener on the other end.
The avocados weren't ripe enough, so it definitely wasn't yours or the tool's fault! That sponge though is literally just a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. I use them for cleaning my walls and bathtub 😂
You just need to break the jar seals... hit the kids on a hard surface until you hear a wee pop and the seal will be broken and the lid is easy to remove
I've had one for years, bought it at a local supermarket. Works great every time once you get the hang of it. You need to slap it onto the seed then twist. Can't use hard green unripe avos as it won't work at all.
Why buy a jar opener when you could use science? Hahaha, i learnt somewhere where you pour hot water into a bowl, flip the jar upside down so you lid is facing down and put the jar into the bowl. Wait for maybe 5 -10 mins? Then take it out, use a towel to cover the lid and open. Logic behind is hot water causes the metal lid to expand and result to easier in opening.
Cos not all people have the same physiological strength, condition or FUNCTIONAL hands as everybody else, so these tools of aids help with the people's ergonomics and activities of daily living that you take for granted every day. Occupational Therapists can give you a more in-depth lecture on that.
