I bought my first IR Impact wrench many years ago. It's a 2131 that I used on my tractor, commercial mower and my truck. It got tired eventually and I rebuilt it a few years back and bought the 2235 TiMax at the same time. I still use the 2131 for lighter work, but anything challenging (most everything) gets the 2235 when I'm near my compressor. It's very capable. I've since purchased the 20V W7152 and it's also remarkable...a bit big, but very strong.

90psi is the manufacturer recommendation but if you put a T-piece at the handle with a pressure gauge on it and clipped the gun into one end of the T-piece so you’re now measuring the line pressure at the handle of the gun. The compressor will drop from 90 to 70 pretty quick you really want 130 in the tank……. I’ve run mine for 150 for many years as a DIYer and I recently backed it off to 130 because the tank is getting a bit old The pressure of 90 PSI from the manufacturer refers to what the gun actually gets at the handle. You need a huge compressor to sustain that and half inch line 90 PSI doesn’t really refer to the tank pressure

You're absolutely correct.

Reminds me of the suspension bolts i took off the other day. Leaning on a cheater bar with my 1/2" breaker. Would have been nice to have a high torque!

I just bought the rigid compressor from home depot but its a 150 PSI and 5.1 CFM @ 90 PSI. I hope that’s enough to use this tool
@Motorcarnut
@Motorcarnut 2 года назад
The CFM is a little low for that gun but should work.
@corystenabaugh9685

You need to use a torque wrench to tighten them back up cause a cheap impact should have no issue taking off a lug nut

The ir took them lugs off no problem. It's funny how much the other impacts struggled to take them off. I think the other two impacts are worn out and need to be thrown away.
