cars - battle stage rain - first stage +things (like people and stuff) - first stage expression on faces - both good grapfics - battle stage overall - BOTH FUCKING GOOD
Battle Stage had the best implementation of 3D by actually making the races seem as realistic as possible. However the OG still has better directional impact and sexy 2D. It had the better (iconic) selection of Eurobeat too.
I like the OG because if you actually have watched the full season, it really feels like they just didn't have the budget for 3D reflections and complex effects, except for the last episode where they decided to run on reflections
Yeah. They didn't had the license for the Trueno name. It's kinda funny because before I learned about it, I always thought it was just Japan mispelling english words again (even more since Trueno is spelled "toreno / トレノ" in japanese)
imagine being kenta, at first you're the rising star of the red suns, next you're shuffling spare tires around and working a stopwatch for project D haha
FatNature someone who notices they are beautiful, they did it alot in first stage but stopped and they just used cg but the drawn scenes make the cars look so nice
Animation team: hey, remind us, what color was the s14 supposed to be? CG team: orange, why? Animation team: oh, nothing (proceeds to draw the car in black anyway)
Eh, they did it to have more build-up for a big battle at the end of first stage. The only line that doesn't make sense that occurs from this is when Fujiwara says he feels bored racing only at akina in second stage
Also we would have seen this crash on the highway, with Takumi and Mika in the Impreza, I wish it was in the anime, but I feel they kinda rushed 5th stage
Both are amazing. First Stage is top-tier out of all the Initial D Stages. All I need from this battle is the Eurobeat - NIGHT OF FIRE. Non-negotiable.

Short On Ideas if you wanna go fast you try to minimize drifting However, practicing drifting means improving your driving control, which is crucial for grip racing, especially in the rain with such little traction.
Takumi when he was thinking about a strategy : *if I'm going to be racing while bringing itsuki home at the same time might as well put him in the back for extra grip instead of being a dead weight screaming all the time*
Lmao... Everyone saying Kenta is a noob when he can actually smoke iketani and the rest of the speedstars. Id reckon he could hold his own against some of the other characters in the manga as well
1998 Has some better camera angles that make it look more intense than the battle stage, like when the S14 is sliding to the outside, it doesn't look like they are gripping in 1998 compared to the battle stage.
I think Kenta's S14 changing colour is just for cosmetic purposes , his car dint really change colour , the darkness of his S14 is to put the focus on the 86 instead of his S14
Battle Stage looks better without a doubt. The scenes from the anime are way too inconsistent with some being drawn and others being CGI. The visuals also look way cleaner as well. The rain is much more visible in the 1998 version but it doesn't look right because it was simply drawn on, the rain droplets on the cars and the splashing of the water around the wheels look much nicer in the battle stage. The lighting, camera angles, world, and models also look much better overall in the battle stage. Overall I think the battle stage did a better job. I don't care about Night of Fire.
the draw style is nice if they put this draw style the whole time in 1998 version it would be way more nice compared to the animations back then but also budget was a problem so .... but initial d is initial d
