I enjoy the way you talk to the fish. I find myself thanking the fish I catch for the visit and fight. My daughter (14) thought I was nuts until I caught her doing it 3 days ago. Thanks for another great video.
Always gotta talk to them. I caught one last year that I could still see the tail of his last meal sticking out of his gullet, sat there and went “got greedy, didn’t ya?” Before unhooking him and tossing him back.
I can't thank you enough for calling yourself out about the PFD. I truly try not to ever be negative on comments, so I tend not to call out the people I follow for not wearing one. I do however always worry about those that I follow, I care for you all and would hate to receive news of something bad happening. Thank you again for your videos and being open. Tight lines sir.
Thank you Rob. Honestly, I didn't think much of it until editing them, and then realized I made a mistake. Thanks for caring - never hesitate to call me out if you see something you disagree with. That is how I get better :)
I like that more people are doing videos on the SUP! Ive bee fishing mind for a few years now. Super easy to load up after work an get out there, but i prefer the hard boards over the inflatable.
Dude I literally just started paddle board fishing for bass in Washington and it is an absolute blast. If anyone out there is like me and couldn’t stand kayak fishing because of back pain etc. stand up paddle board fishing is king. Plus sight fishing is a breeze
The Inflatable paddle board to float down rivers would be KILLER! We have a launch by me that needs two people to launch a kayak from and this would make it so easy.
You can add rod holders to any paddle board. I found some inflatable tube rod holders at cabellas and they work great. I actually use them trolling on the lake as I paddle to my usual spot. My next purchase is going to be a cooler that has rod holders on it and it’ll also act as a seat on the board. Have a couple trolling rods, a rod rigged for bass, and a rig for trout or walleye Combine everything with a castable fish finder and you have everything you need Another good item is a 3 lb anchor. Sometimes it gets windy out on the lake and you float way too much
This video came out in great timing for me. I live in an apartment and I’m looking for a watercraft I can store. Saw your IG story of it packed away and it tempted me enough to look into it lol.
I think it is a really great option for certain styles of angling! Would never 100% replace my kayak with it but it is awesome for throw and go missions.
I'm still tossing around different options for some floating apparatus aside from my fast and loud stuff. This info is definitely helpful in deciding what direction I want to go. In the mean time I've been having a blast with my Mule tackle. I received my 1/80 oz jigs and wouldn't you know the first two fish I land also bent out the hook lol. They didn't come off though so I'm not complaining. Just fixed it and kept on fishing. It would be unreasonable to think a 3lb bass isn't going to bend that hook. They put Nile tilapia in the pond by my shop and boy are they a blast on ultralight.
Interesting! What rod ratings / line are you using? The hook should not bend at all unless you have too much pressure against it on a fish (example drag is locked down on 10lb braid).
@@FishAnything It's a 4lb P-Line leader on 6lb Jbraid, on that Fenwick Eagle. I did end up losing that one at some point and I've caught larger fish on the next jig in the pack and it hasn't budged. It may have been a defect. I'm not sweating it. I work in manufacturing so I get it. Side note: I just found some #1 and #2 offset wide gap hooks and I'm gonna play with superlining a donkeytail. Still having a blast with all the jigs and baits I've gotten from you. I'll be drifting some of these with my 18' Keiryu rod at the Lower Salt River soon. They start stocking trout next week. Time to load up the smoker.
Sup Ethan! See what I did there :D I'm currently fishing off of a Crescent SUP+ ...and I love it. At around 50lbs I just toss in the back of my truck and go...Highly recommend Crescent. And you're spot on regarding us long legged dudes...I'm 6'4" and my long legs love the SUP better than a sit on top kayak. Tight lines brother!
I honestly looked into that Crescent before working with Glide. I simply decided I preferred the option to pack it down so I could take it in my car in a duffle bag if need-be!
I just got my first pack of 2.2 Cowpoke Minnows. I also have a 6 pack of single hook Panther Martins (size 2 and 4), I have the minnow on as a trailer on my desk and I wager a yellow bass eats it tomorrow after work. I also just bought an 8 foot noodle specifically for tiny spinners.
I recommend ISLE Stand Up Paddle Boards. I SUP fish in San Diego all the time. The inflatable SUPs are amazing and durable. They even have ones with rod holders.
Fished off of a SUP for three seasons, they're fun never really had issues but would rather have a kayak for a seat, the option of adding a fish finder, and a trolling motor.
I've heard of a second spawn. It happens when the water is cooling down and passing through the temperature range and length of daylight the fish like for spawning. It's nothing like the Spring spawn.
You don’t need a $1000 SUP! I have a $300 Costco one, Amazon has a kit for $170. Rig it up with some Milk crates and PVC rod holders and you’re out there!
I have used the cheap seatback chair a few times. Works OKAY. I am thinking about getting a low-sitting cooler to strap down. I just prefer not to sit up too high because then you sail around too much.
Since you're 6ft 6, and I'm 6f 4, I felt that I should ask you, what is your weight? I'm trying to lose weight and I see you're fit, and I'm just trying to compare our weights since we are tall guys. Loved the video brother, I'm trying to buy this paddle board right now but it's sold out on their website.
I am 190 lbs. I think Glide might be working on a newer version of this board. Holler if you ever have any other questions for me. Thanks for watching!
We don't have room for a kayak or a canoe, my wagon has a roof rack that'll fit both but storing one would be a huge problem. A paddle board fits our life WAY easier right now. They're also WAY less expensive. I still would way rather a large kayak or a canoe...
I've been watching this series and thinking, "This would be great to leave at my in-laws house." They live on a lake and a paddle board would be super convenient for fishing. Then I clicked the link for that paddleboard and thought, "Dude, where's the other 90% of the discount code?!" 😳 Since I'm too lazy to bring my kayak every time we visit, I'll just keep slumming it from the bank like the hobo I am.
Lol yeah this is an awesome rig! Definitely not cheap, but I imagine it wouldn't last long if it was. Seems like a quality SUP that is built to withstand a lot of trips.
I love the way that rod handled that largemouth. I heard you talk about the Temple Fork ultralight with Burly. Was that the rod in this video? If so, IM GETTING ONE! 😂 Great video Ethan. 🙌
Team Daiwa trout area comander 1.8m, 0.5-5g, what i use... Pupae Spruce Beetle, microbait Tomasz Szadkowski, best of ultralight. Greetings from Poland. She is very light-70g
They just came out with their new boards. I am not 100% sure about a code, but feel free to Glide an email and tell them that you found their boards from this video and maybe they will work with you. Truly appreciate the support!
Mate thank you for the video but you really shouldn't apologise for choosing not to wear a pfd, it's your choice bud and at the end of the day you haven't got to explain yourself. Yes they're safe but if you've chosen for your own reasons and depending on circumstances to have on in a bag on the board or not at all is entirely up to you and you don't have to elaborate as to why you may or may not wear one. Sorry to go on but I find it sad you get these jobsworths calling things like this out, just do you bud and ignore the silly comments. Tight lines 🎣
I appreciate it! I definitely think I should always be responsible and set a good example, but I totally agree that I’m an adult and can make choices for myself.
where were you fishing? north? south? west? east? just curious- i fish here in TN/KY all the time and theres nothing but blue gill as well! i lol hearing you say theyre such a pain🤣 great video, ty....just purchased this same glide board
I think it offers a lot of great benefits for the $799 price. Not affordable for everyone, but the reality is that you can't get many forms of decent watercraft for less than that price.
Also. You should try 1/8oz spinner baits. Maxx Bass (Meijer) has some cheaper but good quality 1/8oz spinner baits that are not too small profile size like Strike King. I have caught soooo many fish on these spinner baits to include Rockos, Smallies, Crappie and Large Mouth. I have had pike and hit them too but I didn’t land them.
If you can find them, the old school Bomber Mini-Whacker 1/6 oz. micro spinnerbaits are LEGIT!!! I've caught a number of 18-inch largies on them back in the day. Also, props to Meijer!!!
@@midwestfischerman hell yeah! I love and miss Meijer. I am stationed in Tx and nothing compares. And I also have some of those Bombers spinner baits. I like them a lot.
