I became interested in this line recently . I was going to buy a full bottle of Rehab , but , when I smelled Oud For Greatness , I think I changed my mind . It's a lovely oud scent & yes , very easy to wear . Thanks for the review!
Not only does this stuff smell fantastic it's also borderline supernatural. My local perfume shop sells it and I can tell if someone is wearing it from about 20 feet away, sprayed it on the back of my hand did bath time for the kids (lots of hand in water type stuff) and could still smell it. The only downside is the price, I've only got a decant right now, but I could be tempted to get a whole bottle at some future point. Especially as it's starting to warm up here now, but in 6 months time I could well see this being crowned my new cold weather king. Thanks for the video Sebastian, take care.
Everyone complains that no matter what I put on it smells sweet to them. Savory sounds so encouraging right now. I mostly buy scents that I like without regard to compliments but this one may just send me to another place. Id love to have it please. Honestly your videos are a gift in themselves. I love oud. I actually use it when creating music. My main bottle latley is not an oud. Gerlain Heritage sits in front of my guitar amplifier for a quick spritz. Stangley it produces instant focus on the mood of a melody. Oud Immortel and Oud Accord perform miracles on long days. I only have decants of those so used only in emergencies
I have a decant of this and it is indeed amazing! Your mention of it being savory hits the spot, the oud here is almost effervescent in a way, touched with the sweetness and spiciness of the saffron. The longevity is quite good.

I sampled it from luckyscent because of all the hype. Loved it enough to get a full bottle, its beast mode and garners a lot of compliments. Very fougere like Oud scent.

Christina Youssef projection and longevity is truly insane and this is coming from someone who truly struggles with performance from most fragrances. I’d get a sample first. I get all BR540 in the dry down. A more masculine, woody BR540 but there have been some people as well who say they don’t get the comparison so get a decant first if you can
I now have Initio Rehab and also Side Effect. Absolutely love them both and this house. Oud for Greatness sounds just as fantastic. I'm going to have to get a decant of it soon to check it out. Great review as always
I finally got my decant and love this oud, I don't think I've smelled anything from Initio that I've disliked. I do want to try the Psychedelic Love and the Absolute Aphrodisiac. Sebastian have you tried either of these from Initio yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them. Maybe you've already done a review on them and I missed them
Even though I can't participate on the giveaway, I will leave my comment, first to show how much I appreciate your work, and also because I am very curious about this fragrance, what a great looking bottle and the juice sounds good too, I don't know if ever get the chance to try it, since no one carry that brand here in Canada I would have to buy it blindly. Thank you for your support. FYI It's quite pricey. Get yourself a sample or decant prior. Also, a lot of people say it reminds them of MFK Baccarat Rouge 540. I can see the resemblance for sure. They are different so I say please test it prior! :)
Love love love it... My initial thought on this the first time I smelled it was, "Daaamn, this is Gooooud". The oud is so smooth n thick but soften by the linger of lavender, saffron and musk, just 💜💜💜. I described it as darker side of BR540, or BR 540 Noir Extrait, or BR540 under the Illuminati #LoL Thanks for sharing, always looove your reviews 💜

Treated myself to a bottle of this for Christmas last year and got it for about $300. I got this along with Halfeti from Penhaligon's and Oud from Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Probably three of the best heavier scents I've purchased. And worth every penny.
Sebastian, great review as always! this is really interesting notes. I much love oud and lavender notes. I have the Oud bouquet from Maison Lancome which is my favorite sexey oud and I also love the Lavandes Trianon from the same series, I wonder if the scent of this perfume gives the same vibes. I am really curious about the saffron note combines with the other notes, sounds very sophisticted and mysterious. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity

Oud for Greatness gives me Tom Ford Ombre Leather 16 vibes soooo much. Smells more like suede than leather. The oud is really safe, comes very medicinal.
I really really like this one, tried a sample a few months back and knew for fact it's next on my list. I have side effect and blessed baraka too and I can't get enough of them.
I recently bought this and it really is divine. I'm frustrated here in Seattle because there's nowhere to smell, so most of my purchases are blind buys! This was one of my best. This is all about saffron and lavender. Unfortunately, it's leaking around the base of the cap so I've parafilmed it...fingers crossed. Do you think this would be good to layer with one of Initio's Magnetic Blends?
I have never tried anything from Initio fragrances before. They have been on my list to check out. Oud For Greatness sounds like an interesting fragrance. I may request a sample on my next Luckyscent order.
I tried this at Beverly Hills Perfumery and really loved the smell of Oud for Greatness. Weirdly, something about it reminded me of Baccarat Rouge 540.
02:09 I'm not so sure . As far as i know Initio Parfums and Parfums de Marly are 2 brands under the same umbrella . Quite often parent company don't want to announce spin off / sub brands ... not officially at least , for marketing reasons. For example Dear Diary is basically a spin off / sub-brand of Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier . At Exsence Milano in 2017 Dear Diary fragrances were sold at Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier booth . Also 5 Rue des Capucines addres on Dear Diary site is basically where Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier boutique is .Great place with top notch service - bought a botle of Ambre Precieux for my brother in law.
Agreed. I was told by a sales associate in Harrods that the heads of the brands are a couple. That doesn’t mean the companies are financially linked, since I did not get exactly what those two people’s job roles were, but I was explicitly told that. They are also always next to each other in stores, at least that’s my experience, although that doesn’t mean much.

Unfortunately I’m in the uk so can’t enter but would love your opinion on any other Initio fragrances you’ve tested. I already have and love Rehab, the lavender in that and the scent left on clothes is addictive. I am tempted by Side Effect but worry about how strong the tobacco is as other than rarely finding decants there’s no way for me to test.
I’m curious to know if it fall the same genre of Oud Wood by Tom Ford or better ? I have tried TF Oud Wood but I am hesitating to get TF for its longevity issues.
This just smells like when u used to chew the end of your pencil in class, as a child... I'm so glad that I wasn't blown away by this, as I've 3 Initios, and they hit your wallet HARD lol!
This is one of the most overly shilled and hyped fragrances out there, this junk smell like it was distilled from bandaids, throw in some menthol for good measure and sell it as niche Oud fragrance, this smelled horrible. Laudano Nero, TF Tobacco Oud Intense, and Oud 27 smell significantly better.
I must be one of the few that don't get the hype. So expensive, and when would you wear this? Maybe if you're on a yacht drinking Dom Perignon with a group of rich friends. If you wear this casually people will think you're crazy.
SEBASTIAN - this sounds terrific I love your review but MAN - that PRICE! $350 is pretty steep Im a big OUD fan but since Ive got a ton already I will pass on this gem wear it in good health JIM from MIAMI BEACH
Does anyone know if there's an oud for greatness like fragrance for women that has the same boozy, chocolatey scent minus the slight masculine aftershave smell in the original?
