A treatment used to help people with chronic pain is giving new life to survivors of post-traumatic stress disorder. It's called stellate ganglion block (SGB) and right now it's one of the only injectable medical procedures available to treat PTSD. The treatment takes just minutes but doctors say it can offer a lifetime of relief.
The procedure involves injecting an anesthetic into the neck, specifically around the main nerve that controls the fight-or-flight response. The process begins with an ultrasound, giving the doctor real-time feedback on how to precisely position the needle. The anesthetic acts as a block, reducing nerve impulses and allowing the part of the brain that controls the fight-or-flight response to reset.

@TimothiKudan I've had a total of 8 of these treatments done over the last 4 years and I can tell you they work. The other thing that works with this is Ketamine therapy. SGB addresses the body, Ketamine addresses the mind. This same doctor does them both which makes combining the treatments incredibly easy.

@@edithzamora2220 I served multiple years in Iraq. As an interrogator, you just hear and see a lot. I struggled with PTSD for more than a decade before I learned about this. It's been a game changer. This is a never block so you aren't going to have those strange symptoms like you are mentioning. You could experience that with Ketamine, but not this. The thing is, you aren't going to end your PTSD, your learning how to manage it so you can function.

I had to call just yesterday to get a referral put in after I asked about it. Devon Larat the arm wrestler talked about his results after getting it and how I found out. Also stem cells completely regenerate human body and heal all injuries and tissues. This is what VA should be giving veterans vs drugs.

So I'm the person in the video having this done. I've had a total of 8 of them done over the last 4 years and I can tell you it has helped. It is NOT going to fix things entirely. It is part of a treatment plan. It's one component. What this does is help address the body's fight or flight symptoms. It does not address why you have that trigger, that is something you have to work on with your counselor or doctor. What this does do is it allows you to do that without being triggered physically. Again, it's one treatment tool, it is not going to solve your PTSD, but it certainly does help.
@milkboysg4595
@milkboysg4595 2 года назад
@@FrontLinePub so if it is that effective,why is there not much research in this
@FrontLinePub
@FrontLinePub 2 года назад
@@milkboysg4595 there is an enormous amount of research available on this. It's been heavily researched for more than 20 years to include a lot of DOD studies at Walter Reed specifically looking at this. The actual SGB process itself is also something that is used in sports medicine all the time. The fact that is can be used to help block the fight or flight nerve between the brain and the heart however, is huge. It's a better approach than just giving people pills. But again, it's a tool to be used in conjunction with therapy. It's not going to solve or remove PTSD, just block the bodies trigger response to it.

@FrontLinePub
@FrontLinePub 2 года назад
I'm not sure IF you've had an SGB injection before but I'd be shocked if you had a bad experience from it. They literally do SGB injections for all sorts of sports injuries. What they've discovered over the last several decades is this can also help with PTSD. In my case, I've had 8 of them over the last 4 years. For me, it doesn't solve or stop the triggering event. What it does is when that event happens, it doesn't cause me to tense up or become angry or aggressive. It allows you to actually talk through that triggering event and learn to work through it. It's never going to stop it, it's going to stop your body was having the negative reaction to it. For the mind, which is what I believe you are talking about or more interested in, I'd highly recommend looking into the Ketamine therapy this same doctor offers. I've also done that and holy crap. I wish the VA offered this. It's far better than the meds they give us.

The more severe the PTSD and long-term you've had it, the more treatments you may need, but generally, once you've had your first two or three, you should be good for a year or more. Also, I'd combine it with the Ketamine therapy this same doctor does. The two of them are incredible and changed my life.

PTSD - Stella Center / Stella Program/ SGB Block My experience: I received treatment from Stella Center to get the Stellate Ganglion Block. After paying them and driving hours away to get This treatment, I found myself in a doctors office where the doctor did not care! I was treated horrible. He wouldn't talk with me after the procedure. I left with a pain in my neck and the doctor told me there was no way that I could have a pain there from this procedure. He told me it must be a hair or pimple. I still have this pain 1.5 years later. He then would not respond or help me in any way. The office was also very religious, (Pushing their views on me after I woke up) which made me uncomfortable and I would have chosen a different doctor had I known. I contacted Stella and was offered a refund, which I accepted. Fast forward to today and I need the shots again. I contact Stella center to get it set up. Not only have they continued to raise prices but they are just as rude to patients. I asked if there would be a different doctor I could see and got set up with a video consult. I ended up missing the video consult due to a medical emergency and received the most hateful email from their COO. I was told that I do not need the treatment based on my file. I do not have a file, I did not join the video chat or take an assessment. Medical professionals working with mental health patients should not be sending out emails like this. That email could be the last thing somebody reads. Literally. Think about it. They have also blocked my phone number, I found that out before I got the email trying to reschedule. I'm not a mean person and don't disrespect anyone. They literally blocked my number because I missed the assignment video chat. The amount of disrespect I received is not fair. I am warning anyone who is looking into this company to not go through with their services. I have found a doctor local to me who is willing to do the shots for less than half of what Stella was charging. Also Pain management is another option covered by insurance if you have other spine problems. As the shots go to the same exact place and is the same treatment just for pain and much more. Mental health is important and this company literally robs its Patients and Drs out of money and dignity. Check Glassdoor and look what the employees even say. It's disgusting
