I just got one of these. I know you posted this video over a year ago but I had a question. I have my inkbird in a plastic bag with a 72 bovida. it’s been about 15 minutes and it’s been up and down between 60 and 63% so far. faulty unit?
Inkbird is a great company. I run two of their temperature controls for aquarium heaters. Had one go bad, customer service had a new one at my door within four days. Curious on their hygrometer
I have been using the govee hygrometer for about a year now and now I don't trust them thay have been given me false reading even when I put them in a tupador with the boveda 69 pack. I look forward to hearing more about the ink bird from you thanks.
Hmmm. I will definitely give these a shot. However I will bring some Shelly devices down to TGS for you to give a try at home automation. They also have H&T sensors.
I'm still using the Boveda butlers, now taken over by cigars International. Great when they work but Jesus every phone UI update leaves me struggling to get them to reconnect for days. I'm interested in trying something new. Hopefully you have a good experience with them. I'll watch in Ernest. Cheers Kev.
Also, I noticed your main humidor was at 76F. Any concerns with mold? I’m new to this, and I hear higher temps may lead to mold? My Tupperdore is at 71-73F and 69-71 humidity and I am bit worried. I live in dry desert climate (Nevada).
Remember, you can always control one of two things. The humidity or the temperature. If your temperature gets too high lower the humidity. If your humidity gets too high, lower the temperature. When the humidity and the temperature are both at 70% that's when you had a greater risk of mold starting to develop. When my temperature gets a little high, I'll leave the door open to the humidor and let the humidity level get down to 60%. Here in Florida it's hard to get the temperature and the humidity both perfect all the time

I’ve been using the Boveda butler for years. Never thought it could be incorrect, guess I’m too trusting. I just got the Inkbird wifi hydrometer and it shows humidity about 8% less than the butler. I’m not sure which to trust. Anyone else have some opinions?
Did you calibrate just the humidity or the temperature also? So if the the boveda pack in the bin was a 75 and the reading was a 76, did you put -1 for both humidity and temperature?
I did not have to calibrate the temperature because I put all the units in a container with a known calibrated hygrometer. I have calibrated dozens of different brands of hygrometers in the past, and I've always found that the temperature is just about perfectly calibrated on all of them. It's the humidity that usually needs to be adjusted
They should be good out of the box but I do check mine when I get a new one in. I will put them in a tupperware container with a 70% humidity pack and leave it there for 24 hours to double-check the accuracy.
I do still use these, but I do keep the Bluetooth turned off because I found with a Bluetooth on they go through batteries pretty quickly. I think I was swapping out the battery in mine about once a month.

What i dont understand is i got a oasis digital hygrometer in my humidor that's wood so every time i open it to check the humidity it changes...how does one really know if the percentage is accurate in a closed box ..tss all bad ✌
Umm I got this hygrometer and I gotta say they aren't that good for a desktop wood humidor. It shuts off a lot on it own. Sometimes it says the battery is dead and then 2 seconds later it's at 85 percent
@Cigarprop Do you still recommend it after 3 months? Are they still running good? As for the app I've read people complaining about the permissions it requires and that it sends data without permission 😮
I am still using over a dozen of them, and I still love them. I haven't had any problems at all. As far as the permissions in the data, I really can't comment on that because I really haven't paid attention to it
I only have two of them that I kept the Bluetooth on because they aren't humidors that I really need to watch. I found that my human doors are doing really good so I was never checking them so I turned the Bluetooth off to save the battery life. With Bluetooth always on, the batteries only lasted about 45 days or so
Not the best. Hygrometer. Oasis caliber IV for the last 4 years is the best one I’ve used. People focus on the electronics. Just focus on humidity device and size of humidor, then the humidity spec will follow.
