Inkheart - Original Theatrical Trailer 

Despite what people say about the movie I really enjoyed it. For those complaining that it wasn't like the book - of course it wasn't. Very rarely will movies be the same or very close to the books. You can't add everything into the movie, and sometimes you have to add or change things to make it more appealing to a wider audience.

I was so sad with the end result in the movie. It had so much potential. Brendan Fraser as Mo was perfect, Dustfinger was perfect. But the story felt so rushed. I really wanted to see more of Elinor's giant house filled with books, and see the magical creatures play a bigger part for the movie vs just sit there.

I hope HBO or Amazon give this Trilogy another shot and Remake it, like His Dark Materials...

I didnt super enjoy the movie, but, Brendan Fraser as Mo is all I ever see every time I re-read the trilogy. It's perfect 🥰

I've finished reading the book and I've never seen the movie. But they seem very different, and I didn't really imagine like it's portrayed in the movie.

This film was really good but the book is really great! It’s a shame they didn’t carry on with the series and do Inkspell and Inkdeath too.

I'm just upset Dustfinger had no scars.

I remember reading this a few years ago! I only remember snippets of the story and characters, but the settings and everything seem very different in the movie than how I pictured it. For one thing, I thought it was winter in the story while reading the book. I really enjoyed the book, even though it left me coming up short in the end. I hope the movie meets the standard of the book!!!

I read the book to my daughter as bedtime stories...she LOVES it, and she is 8 years old...for some reason, I think she would be terribly dissappointed by this movie! I think in the book Meggie is shown as a normal 12yr old, who is scared and only learns to be brave because she has to. She makes some not-so-wise decisions (like all kids do) and has to face the consequences. My daugher could identify with her.

Dustfinger didn't use the storm to get them out he just unlocked the door and snuck them out.

Alright, admittedly the book is way better, but what about Andy Serkis in this? He was really good as the villain, I thought.

I am reading this book currently to my dad. I’ve never read it before. I came here merely to see if my voices were similar at all to the characters portrayal in the movie. I only watched the first like twenty seconds. My voice for Meggie at least was fairly similar. I think I try to make her a bit more girlish. Although being trans mtf that is a struggle. It is a really good book so far! Can’t wait for more time to read!

Obviously no movie can be perfect, especially one that is based on a book beloved by millions. Brendan Fraser was actually the inspiration behind Mo Folchart - Cornelia Funke(the author) sent him the book before a movie was even in the works with a note saying he was her inspiration. I thought he and Andy Serkis did their characters justice. Meggie was not cast well. Dustfinger was interesting...

the book is about the protagonists trying to banish the villains they had initially unintendedly brought out by reading inkheart, and the movie is about the protagonists themselves trying to return home from the story?

The time while film still have full of inspiration and imagination.

I've watched this for Paul Bettany and as usual his performance was worth the whole movie. If I'd watched it as a kid I might have "forgiven" the movie for its shortcomings out of sheer enthusiasm for the trope of books coming alive, but honestly I think 1) as someone said, it sort of tries to be too childish, it's not even clear what age Maggie is supposed to be (12, apparently, from on screen information, but the actress is obviously much older and the way she and Farid interact suggests she's at least 14), and the roles are sort of shifty too, I can't decide whether we're following her or her father... in the end, Dustfinger is in fact the character I can focus best; not just because of the spectacular actor, but because he's got the most intriguing conflict and growth; so, all in all, it's like the movie is not written with a clear idea in mind. 2) The trailer says "journey to a world...". But there's no journey to another world at all; some characters break into our world from books, the main of which is a fictional book that none of us, the audience, ever heard before, so we have no idea what it is like. We only meet some of its refuges, and get a few glimpses from Dustfinger's flashbacks. It's like showing me duck and then serving me chicken. I get the impression that the film means to compensate for that with the setting in Switzerland/Northern Italy. Sorry, I'm Italian myself, so instead of an adventurous magical world what I see is a touristic ad for my places.

All you people being such babies about the movie compared to the books. Shut up🤣 Literally almost every single movie out there won't be exactly like the books. This movie is beautiful so deal with it. (Yes I have read the books my mom use to read them to us as well before bed when I was little) I know them by heart.

I'm wishing I'd grabbed the German Originals when they came into our shop!! I also enjoyed the film, it's just different, why can we not enjoy both, there's not really a lot of point comparing book and film (I used to complain all the time about Outlander drama and Crosstitch the Original book!!). Paul Bettany is just so great whateverhe does; this trailer is just too hectic, too noisy, so I'll just watch the film. How we love out Fantasy hey, and there's often so much truth in it :) Love to Cornelia !

Elinor: a old lady that is a little round Gwin: is a ferrit in this preview and a while a martin in the book Capricorn: a man as colorless as a glass of milk Dustfinger: a stokie man with scars from bastas knife on his face It might sound like I'm complaining but a few carictors looked alike to what the book describes. I think Brendan Fraser is just amazing. He was George of the Jungle, Rick O'Connell from The Mummy movies, and Trevor Anderson from Journey to the Center of the Earth. I hope he returns in Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon along with Dwayne Johnson and Josh Hutcherson.

I remember reading a few pages of the book a few years ago and I didn't read all of it as I had to stop when Capricorn was mentioned and I was 12-13 then and I'm 18 now

As someone who saw this movie, I really wanted to see a fight between Farid and Capricorn, unfortunately that fight became a missed opportunity.
