BT speakers and LED lights will actually be an optional accessory for the V11 which I think is great. Those that value those things can still get them.
Suspension is a must as these things get more advanced, living in SF the roads are so bad in places that even driving moderately your getting hammered so badly in places you really can notice it after a few miles
„..a street vehicle...“......sigh.......if only it wasn‘t illegal here in CH. I still own my Ninebot OneE+ and I bought it before they decided to make it illegal anywhere else than on private ground........that sucks big time and if you can ride this bad boy in your country....man, I am jelaous. I would instantly replace my OneE+ with it, because riding an electric Onewheel is soooo much fun and this InMotin V11 is just damn right sexy. Since I am 53 already, I most likely will not live long enough to see the law be changed, when finally younger, more modern people are politically in charge.
I'm getting my Inmotion V10 this week and I am stoked! My protective gear should arrive soon as well. Thanks for inspiring many of us to try the EUC. I will gladly try the Onewheel as well if Future Motion does the right thing and resolves the nosedive issue permanently via design/software updates.
Dude! An excellently presented educational video and we definitely owe you a beer!!! I do believe we are about to get a Inmotion V11. Thanks for sharing and the best of luck!
Hi Jimmy, Duf mentioned the other night during his live stream that he was sending the v11 to you for your review and I'm glad you got it out quick. I've been considering this as my second wheel I'm debating between it and the 16x. In a lot of ways I'm like you and I could use that suspension, lol. I'm very impressed with your stair/curb dropping ability and I love the split screen comparison between the Nicola and the v11. It really was a great demonstration on how the suspension helped because it definitely took out the jarring aspect of the drops. I think those two areas that you pointed out, the plastic connector and the kickstand should be able to be relatively easily remedied by Inmotion. I'm no engineer, but if they added a metal clip connector to the plastic piece on top it should make it more durable, and if they made the kickstand with a thicker, stronger metal, it could be more stable. ***Maybe Duf can 3d print a stronger kickstand for it bc his EUC stands are very durable and his v11 just got delivered the other day.
having suspension on a E-wheel should be the number 1 priority. for the inmotion pedals just put grip tape on the footing portion. it wheel drastically improve traction between bumps, breaks, and stairs.
I've got over 2,600 miles on my XR and just pulled the trigger on a V11 tonight! I'll always love my Onewheel, but I'm super excited for this EUC. I was trying to decide between this and the S18 and your video pretty much sold me on the V11
@@stevenrock126 I ended up needing do upgrade a bunch of stuff at my house and had to cancel my order. Lost interest in EUC after that. I have a lot of friends that ride onewheels and EUCs and love both. I also have a good friend that bought a V11, put a few hundred miles on it and didn't like it nearly as much as his Onewheel. It all comes down to personal preference and what you're looking for. To me, I've been a snowboarder my whole life so I gravitate towards the sideways stance and flow of the OW.
Love you to do a low end review. Best choice for someone who doesn't need more than 10-15mph. Your video on choosing starter wheels is great but a dedicated update comparisons of all the ones you own
Hope to see it. I'm a low speed cruiser still beginning so went cheap side of things. Also wouldn't mind an opinionated review of practice areas.. bug inside room vs parking lot, vs bike path, vs running track etc... Be interesting to have a community perspective
I think the top mount point definitely could be strengthened but I am pretty sure your demo wheel was broken by a previous tester. ;) That being said, you could have all four top mount points broken and the wheel is still 100% rideable as the side mount points will keep it in place. I rode it with no top screws last night while tweaking pressures. Good news is if it turns out to be significant durability problem it is stupid easy to replace the saddle.
@@mikeintampa250 I think the kickstand is awesome. To make it fit into design of wheel it couldn't be super wide which is why it requires a level surface to work well. The only change I could envision is a 3D printed add on to the existing stand which would give it some more width but it may look real klutzy. Honestly I have no plans to change mine anytime soon, I love it.
Luke Melanson doubtful. They would need to re-enforce that screw hole to be a thicker plastic. Also i broke that screw hole on his demo unit haha. Blame me and my wild riding.
Just started watching your videos like 2 weeks ago and i already ordered s onewheel xr and now i cant stop bing watching videos on the EUCs. I must say tho the unicorn socks made the video! Keep up the great videos! Thanks
its now 3/7/2022. I just learned on the Gotway MCM4 Urban, now i can ride very humbly. After four days of positive determination. I went for a seven mile ride yesterday along a paved bicycle trail. So many looks and nice people commenting. I ordered my Inmotion V11 earlier today .
Great review and I want to upgrade my V8f. I like how you ride I’m 75 and don’t need speed so much but the bigger wheel/tire, suspension and miles is just what I need.
I'd be really interested in your opinion of the S18 - and Chooch's thoughts on the V11! You are both pretty positive on the wheels you've had access to so far!
Jimmy rarely do I disagree with your sentiments however I believe the Led lights are important and serve to make the rider more visible. I believe they are very important since the wheels don't make a lot of noise and so the audible warning you would have on a gas operated vehicle is gone. I have heard even motorcycle riders complain that cars and even pedestrians seem to not notice them. I know your a "safety guy" like me but alot of riders are not and will not bother to purchase equipment that enhances their visibility profile. Great video as always.
@@freshlycharged Oh definitely I was thinking of side profile mostly. From what I understand a lot of bikers are hit broad side and that lack of profile illumination and reflectors may be a contributing factor. I operate nyc trains so I always have safety on the brain and probably overly cautious.
Adding material to an existing mold is easy, just make the mold bigger (remove volume from the cavity). That said, it's an expensive solution. The cheaper, faster solution to the saddle fixture points is just add metal inserts to reinforce that area.
I tought buying an Ow since forever..you channel was very inspiring but I am glad I didn't....I ride euc for 2 years now..and I dream a out rideing one every day...
Thank you for such a thorough review of the majestic V11, and from most accounts quite possibly the EUC of the year. Jimmy, is your V11 the preproduction, or production version? If it is the preproduction, do you know if the defect was fixed for the production version?
I have a preproduction model. I'm seeing others with the same problem in their production version. I'm confident InMotion will make it right for them and make changes to the design. Otherwise very solid wheel and it would be my next wheel if I were in the market right now.
I feel it should almost be like a recall on a vehicle with a defect. Replacements parts or a fix should be sent to customers before the break happens rather than waiting for a break to happen.
@@freshlycharged yeah i agree. i think mickey with evx talked to inmotion about it. i agree they should handle it beforehand. im ordering one tommorrow. looking forward to it! thanks for the review!!
Great video. It's weird, I'd actually prefer it without the suspension. If they could keep the slim design and have a more simple circular design without the turret on top holding the lights etc then I think it might suit me better. I know that the suspension is the point of the wheel but I prefer the slim design around an 18" x 3" wheel with the new motor. I feel it would be more robust that way. Maybe they could add smaller LED lights into Kuji pads near the top of the wheel - these pads would also protect the wheel in a fall. I like the idea of bright lights but I'd just don't want something that big on top of the wheel and the noise of the fan cooling these current lights is a bit much for me. I'd like to see adjustable pedals as well (height and angle). Having a smaller design would also make it easier to wheel the EUC into shops or work without getting turned back at the door. This new design could be produced at the same time as the current model as nearly all the parts would be the same but obviously it would be cheaper and lighter.
JC man, I gotta say you absolutely killed it with this video. I'm in between this and the KS S18 as my second wheel (currently on V8F). Looking forward to your next euc video!
The first EUC with...adjustable pedals (angle and height)! The first EUC with...a removable/replaceable battery pack (spare pack included)! The first EUC with...a puncture/blowout-proof tire! _THAT'S_ the EUC I can't wait for! TAKE MY MONEY! Will this climb steep hills and mountain trails?
I was considering one of these. It was between this and the s18. But from what I under stand. The s 18 is more for off road. This is a better daily. Glad you’re addressing this. Might even sell my XR. Maybe. To be fair it’s the price gauging that may have done one wheel in. A 40 dollar mat? Thoughts?
Jimmy Chang pretty much just here and the web site randomly. I love the one wheel. I was looking forward to an XR successor. But as much as I’m not as interested...it may be the v11 and say good buy to one wheel. Everything is super expensive. I have a Harley and don’t need my EV to rape me as well.
The torque is extremely close to the 16x. It’s very fast off the line if you’re a speed demon. Also the stopping power is equally as good. I made a few review videos on this wheel on my channel: evX
I can’t wait to ride one! How’s the tire? It looks similar to the Nikola tire with that center strip. Does it try to auto stabilize you like the Nikola? Great video 🤘
Hey Jimmy great in-depth review I believe you've captured everything accurately including its flaws, I too am a conservative rider, but Im also an older rider & I truely believe that suspension will give older riders the longevity to journey further than before & arrive at their destination in a more comfortable state than Euc's without suspension. I do want to make the V11 my next wheel, but the sacrifice of speakers is a big deal for many & I honestly think its a loss of a safety feature, if your cruising down a path or roadway & theres ppl walking ahead of you, I think it's best that they hear you coming, rather than you yelling at them, or worst, scaring them as You whiz by, truthfully I currently own 3 wheels but my favorite is the KS18S with its height of 27.5" it is by far the most ergonomic Euc out there for sitting, has 4 BT speakers, that lets ppl know Im behind them & believe it or not it also has a horn. And if I reach terminal velocity & the Beeper sounds, it cancels out the music & allows the beeps to be heard! The only draw back is its only 67.5 volts, but it has all the bells & whistles I enjoy from a wheel & that's why its my favorite. I was hoping to make the V11 my next Euc, but for me speakers are the deal breaker I can only hope in time Inmotion will capitalize on the V11's slender design and add speakers cuz they certainly have the room, maybe with a V11F or maybe even a V12, hopefully Inmotion will recognize the importance of speakers & add them to future wheels.
@@freshlycharged Really? Thats super good news, you know Jimmy Id rather have speakers than not & if they're included within the unit all the better! Cuz it sure beats carrying extra gear (speakers) Could wear ear buds but that would hinder you from hearing any beeps. But this is definitely good news. 👍👍
I’m looking into my first euc but the larger size and heavier weight scares me off. I’m thinking something like the KS 14s might be a wiser move for me.
People like the Gotway Tesla. I have the 14D right now and I think it would be a good beginner wheel for someone who isn't too big. Here's my review on it: oneradwheel.com/2020-review-of-the-king-song-14d-electric-unicycle/
Hey Jimmy, great vid! Can't wait to receive my V11. Just sold my Onewheel to afford the rest of the payment. Been riding an Mten3 for a while now and it was the perfect wheel to learn on, haven't touched my Onewheel since receiving it 😭 BTW, what shin guard/knee pad combo are you wearing?
@@freshlycharged Thanks man! My shins currently look like over ripe bananas from the little tornado that is the Mten3😅 Lots of falls trail riding but it's been a blast haha. Just ordered those guards 👊
I have a Onewheel pint and I've been considering getting the v11.. can you kinda give us onewheelers a comparison video or what to expect from any EUC especially the V11 based on what we already know about the Onewheel?
As a person who owns a power scooter (10x) with another soon on the way (weped GT), I've honestly been contemplating getting an EUC mainly to commute. The size just can't be beat. Would you recommend this for a first time rider? (Note that I do have many years of riding experience on bikes, mainly track) I don't want to get a beginner wheel, and then end up upgrading in 2 months!
Beginner wheel will get beat up as you learn but it sounds like you want a high end wheel. I'd recommend a KS16X or Gotway Nikola. Here's my review of the Nikola: oneradwheel.com/gotway-nikola-4000-mile-review/#:~:text=The%20Gotway%20Nikola%20is%20the,sleek%2C%20and%20handles%20very%20well.
What are your thoughts on selling an XR for this? I'm starting to lose faith with FM with their CS issues in the 4211 XR and the new mat looks like an obvious, desperate cash grab. Starting to look a bit like Boosted with the cash grab for their 105s and Beams.
Like im sure OW is fun. But MTen3 is more powerful and has more range then XR. It Costs less then half its price. V11 is the same price as XR and you cant even compare them. If OWs were normaly priced i would buy one but i really dont feel like being scammed. This just my opinion though. What is important is... Do you want to ride an EUC instead of an OW? V11 will give you bang for your bucks unlike OW but wont matter if you dont like EUC riding.
@@electricvehicle6042 I think its a different experience. My only problem is asking 2000 bucks for something that has worse speckst then 800 bucks Mten3. Thats ridiculous. Thats why i will never own a onewheel.
Watching this makes me wanna learn my uni (tesla v1) but its hard to transfer from my board when i can go about same speed with extra 10-20 miles range on the board. Like to learn eventually tho.
Are they hard to learn? I understand putting in the time, but is it better to learn on a onewheel first? I did watch some learning vids. Doesn't seem so hard, but lol some people make it look easy.
I'm looking to purchase an EUC as my first electric rideable. I've never ridden one before. Is there any place that you can actually look at different models? I live just south of you in Parker. I'm not opposed to a pre-owned unit, but it looks like people are asking almost new prices for the ones that I've seen. Same with the onewheels. Any advice for a first purchase?
Sir how tall are you, if you don’t mind. Is it uncomfortable if the side of the knee is touching? I’m asking bec I’m only 5’5-5’6. Looking for my first but thinking of stepping up instead of getting the cheaper models
