Marty, I'm really loving the new Sherman S wheel. I am still new to EUCs, but everything I'm seeing from my research so far into suspension wheels say's, Get the Sherman S next... ha ha ha! Thanks for the great comparison video! Wish you had more Sherman S footage for us! -Shane
@@ElectricUnicycles For the love of all that is holy...Someone please give this man a Sherman S EUC so we can get some proper testing and breakdown's! Please and Thanks in advance...ha ha ha! -Shane
I've a V8F (first and only wheel so far) and have put almost 2,000 miles (3,218.69km) in less than a year, and at roughly ~205LBS (93kg) riding weight and 15MPH (24.14KMH) average speeds, I get around 10 miles (16km) on a full charge. Definitely looking to upgrade to a higher end wheel + losing more weight this year, and I've been looking at the V13 as my next wheel. Appreciate the review!
V13's not ma cuppa but I do appreciate the work involved esp with the OG Sherm thrown in. I can imagine the extra work both in ride time & editing so great job Marty, Muy Aprecianado 🤘 PS: I caught the freudian slip at the end there when you said "I'll let Chooch decide..." 🤣
Hi Marty, excellent video and excellent tests. They confirmed what a lot of people already know that this is not a long-range wheel, and if you like range it is just not worth the price tag.
Pretty much a eyeopener right there. I've got a og VS with a pre v2 mb and it is still the whoa wheel for me. I know its old but pretty sturdy on its close 10k km, but it holds after 2.5 yrs. amazes me. Watching your video I wonder what really changed in these years. Well, this 2023 might tell us but for now.. not much happened, imho. Suspension, yes, any day, its what EUC world need for comfort. Performance better.. well.. idk for now. Thanks for a really good input and effort to make this video. Love you man. Keep the stuff comin'. Come to the Groundings 2023.. would be a blast. I did it from Sweden, and will do again. So can you. You're closer. :P
🙌🎉this is the video i been waiting for lol. I seen dawns video and thought you werent gonna do a rangetest since she did one with this wheel. I'll watch it when i get off work. I really wondered How much more range does that extra 570Wh really get you.
@@ElectricUnicycles ohhh lol i was assuming its a shermans with 3600Wh. You brought out the OG, 3200Wh, nice. Thats a good comparison, cant wait to go home and watch the video.
Great video Marty. It’s funny how people now consider 50 miles of range low. Two years ago that would’ve been a super EUC. I think 50% of people that buy these wheels don’t even ride anywhere close to 50 miles in one day. I always take all the comments with a grain of salt. You are very informant and I always liked your videos plus you put on thousands of miles on a EUC so I trust what you say, than the naysayers . Keep up the great work. Be safe.
I think a Sherman S-V13 range comparison would be a bit more fair because of the weight difference here, but interesting to see how much more range the OG Sherman pulled on the same terrain. More powerful motor definitely drains the batteries quicker. Great video Marty. V13 is definitely not the wheel for long range tours, but looks to be the safest high speed and high quality wheel for commuting. Unfortunately there is no perfect wheel yet.
Not really, because the Sherman S has a much larger battery. It's hard to do a perfect apples to apples test. This is the best I can do and hopefully it's meaningful to some people. Thanks for the comments.
The size of the wheel also certainly matters for efficiency, a larger size requires more torque to move the wheel, but at higher speeds the difference in efficiency of the v13 might be much better.
I think it is down to motor winding, atleast partly. To get that high rpm you need a motor with few turns of thick wire and to get the torque up, you need to supply more amps when compared to a slower motor with more turns.
A great test, considering that both wheels have exactly the same battery, only in a different configuration (sherman 24s 10p, v13 30s 8p), the only thing you should provide is the battery voltage, because the percentages can be calculated differently in the application.
My percentages are calibrated. Also, the Sherman is 100-volts vs 126-volts of the CP. So I think using battery percentages is more useful for the average rider.
Sherman classic aka vanilla motor is around 2500w speed oriented and around 30km/h +-20mph energy consumption is great this mean can run longer on same battery and weight is 35kg.
Not good at all for the V13, especially compared to the OG Sherman. Forget about the stated Wh, they have the same battery. Same number of cells. They both use 18650s, and they have 240 of those. The Sherman is 24s10p, and the V13 30s8p (30 x 8 = 240). The size, weight of the wheel and motor is that much bigger on the V13, so it sort of makes sense. But still, I'd rather have the added range that a lighter 20" wheel can give you for long distance road trips. Thx Marty!
Dawn Champion says she has had 60 miles range out of one of her Masters, given how she rides that's impressive. She said she was keeping the speed down in the 20's (can she do that?). Any way if you can do that given the Masters performance, the bang for the buck would seem to favour it over the V13.
@@Scifi_Ape From accounts it would appear that the V13 is still very good at low battery. "splat your face on the concrete", very descriptive, not on my agenda what ever I'm riding :-)
Gosh. I’m just slightly disappointed in the v13 which is a bummer because I was rooting for it. It won’t charge all the way, 2 people so far have had axle shear problems, the torque isn’t really there, the range is comparatively worse than an OG Sherman… man oh man
Sherman, especially Max, will continue to own group rides this year. Until Sherman S-Max comes out, I plan on riding my shermax. V13, especially with the recent issues, continues to prove that InMotion wheels sucks ass.
I was wondering does inmotion derate their battery in any way? Also, do they allow a real full charge or is 100% not the full battery capacity and is 0% a higher state of charge. Mission used to do this on their cars. Not proposing this is case I have no idea.
hmmmm, for what customer is made this wheel? ..........for sure not for long distance riders, but also not for city riders, extremaly expensive and very heavy. I cant see any niche for it.
Can't ask a Ferrari to get prius gas mileage, no matter the tank size. Gotta pick a wheel that suites your needs, I for one am a low distance speed demon so I'd lean toward the V13.
Hi. Friend, why didn't you provide us with very important data that is an Average Energy Consumption during the test? Knowing this parameter we could draw the right conclusion. My guess is that the 4kw V13 motor draw much more power than 3kw Sherman at the same speed, but to be sure we have to know this data. Will you be so kind and let us know it? Thank you. !
It should be stored inside EUC World app or on their servers. After each ride I can compare my energy consumption with previous ride or with different wheel I use. But If you can't retrieve it then no big deal. Thank you !
Yes, essentially legal everywhere in the country. Generally, they fall under any laws created for electric bicycles. When in doubt ride it where & how you would with a bicycle and you'll be perfectly OK. We always get thumbs-up from the police.
I can't speak for the rest of the world but in Southern California many of us regularly ride between 70 and 80 miles on any given day. 60-miles is not long.

My gut instinct about the v13 and inmotion’s ongoing track record after the v11, has provided me a consistent educated observation that this company is about cake decorating. 👈🏻🎂🍰🧁🍥🥮😂
