inner barrel choice is up to the individual but here's why I choose to run 6.03 and 6.04 on all bar 1 of my Airsoft guns. #airsoft #innerbarrel #accuracy #improvements #range #gas #marui #gbb #gbbr #gasblowback
Best upgrade you can make which isn’t really an upgrade….the highest quality bbs you can afford. Like you said. People throw all kinds of money into various enhanced parts but sometimes cheap out on the ammo. It’s the most crucial part! 😂🤦♂️
Yup, 💯 I saw you played down in town recently too! So sad about it closing 🥺 I've been trying to cram a few games in myself. Also I watched your mp5 video like 3 times now, I want a VFC too 😂
@@OllieTalksAirsoft Very sad to see it closing too, although the organisation has gone to crap! Haha, too bad they aren’t available over here yet. And the preorders are super expensive!
@@OllieTalksAirsoft to be honest at first I didnt even want to touch it :) What gas should I use? I will not be upgrading anything for a while. What weight bbs do you recommend. This is just a piece of art
Great video Ollie, one difference of opinion I have: I would say that gbbrs have a clean power source (sealed), so their barrels are usually cleaner than AEGs. AEGs have to draw the air that fills the cylinder from somewhere, this is from the surrounding atmosphere, so any dirt or dust in the air is drawn in. I’ve seen this myself when servicing a mates DMR and the cylinder/piston head was covered in muck and fragments of dead leaves! I would also say that tightbore barrels are way more sensitive to poor quality BBs than they are dirt.
Me and my friend both use 6.00 barrel and have been doing it for a few years, we have never had problems and neither of us are particularly good at keeping our barrels clean :) both mws. Just to share my experiences, we play about every 14 days, and in the summer every week.
Well I'm glad to hear that it's not caused any issues, I'm also not very good at regularly cleaning my barrel. Assuming you went from the stock MWS barrel, did you see much improvement with regards to FPS or accuracy when switching to a 6.00?
@@OllieTalksAirsoft my precision is good but i have not done any big comparison test with other barrels, it is good. FPS went up a lot, but I have nothing to compare with, the barrel is also longer than standard. so my "data" is not very useful :) other than my bb´s never gets stuck, 😀 BB.s BLS 36-.43g
@@MKAnr1 aha I see you're using BLS, good choice of ammo! Appreciate what you're saying about data, mine is hard to compare too. Thanks for the info, much appreciated 😊
Hello Ollie . You are doing great job mate. Very grateful for your help. I'm hooked to your channel and you inspired me to go TM way. So I bought a mtr16 gold edition (hate the trigger so getting it changed right away) and M4A1. I'm more about firearms training and can keep the sterile conditions and feed best ammo. What would be your suggestions on upgrading the mtr16 to the most accurate longest range platform? I don't mind going dmr to keep it site legal for an occasional game, altough not going HPA as reconnecting a hose after quick mag change takes out any realism for me. I'm thinking the 370mm prometheus eg 6.0mm plus laylax pink packing plus ra tech npas (npas is a must for me so I could play with the bb weight and trajectory)-what else? Hop up chamber etc? M4A1 would get the maple leaf 6.03 barrel plus ra tech npas and laylax pink packing - what else should I install? I'm waiting for your recommendations. Many thanks and keep up the good work! We all need you! Rob
Hi Olllie, Hope you're well, I don't suppose you've had any experience with the double eagle noveske mws clone? I bought one from Taiwan gun and it seems to have came with a 270mm inner barrel however its firing around the 1.5j mark with UK retailers selling them with 150mm inner barrel. This is a problem for me as all Airsoft RIF'S in Northern Ireland have to fire below the 1j mark. Would you have any idea what inner barrel length I should get to fire around the 1.j mark? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
not a whole lot, you can use a nub type airsoft rubber (like stock TM) to gain as much accuracy as possible and use heavier BB's as this will also offset any accuracy loss from the shorter inner barrel.
I just recently found your channel and I'm really enjoying you sharing your knowledge of the MWS platform. Do you have any experience with the Poseidon air cushon barrels? I have a 138mm Poseidon 6.05 barrel paired with a Laylax purple bucking, laylax hop arm and a GunsModify hop up adjuster in my mws "cqb" build. I was impressed it was hitting a man size target at 250ish feet (76 meters if I converted correctly) using .3's. It's not as precise as some of my longer rifles at that range but it can definitely pull them off. Now I found myself using my cqb build at my indoor and outdoor fields lol
I remember the first time I took my short Mk18 build out when it was a CQBR basically, hitting similar ranges, its just unstoppable. I haven't had any experience with the Poseidon air cushion barrels but they sound like the maple leaf ones which have proved to be very good. your setup sounds good to be honest, you may have slightly better results with a modify TAN bucking but it'll probably not even be noticeable.
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge! I would like to shot a head at 70 meters and silhouette at 90 with tm mws. Atm I run 510 inner barrel. Could you possibly please send the list of updates to get there. Will run it as hPa with tapp adapter. If you are ever down West Sussex come to Driver's Wood or my range at Holmbush for some tactical training or a game. Regards Rob
Past 50 feet its squirt gun physics and optics. You wont get much accuracy on a round ball with backspin. You can spend for it but it's not changing much.
Hey man, currently using Geoff .3 in my MTR. The original barrel is 250mm and I want to increase the bb consistency and barrel length as I can take up to 16”. Just wondering if you’ve done something similar and what worked best for you. Many thanks
So in my experience, longer barrel has more to do with velocity and makes no noticeable difference in accuracy. The quality of the inner barrel is what will give you the best accuracy, not necessarily the tightness of the inner barrel. Quality is king in my observations. I also use 6.03-6.05 inner barrels with good success for actual fielding, I feel like having a bit of air go past the bb can help to keep it more centered as it travels, but this is just speculation and not science.
Great comment I totally agree, I should have made a longer video going into it in more detail but I was just from a comment someone made and I was going out for dinner 😂 I had pizza 😋 I've not yet tried the edgi barrels but I've heard they're the nuts! Very expensive though but quality is what you pay for I guess. I have actually planned on doing a video about matching rubbers and nubs and barrels, just haven't got round to it yet!
@@OllieTalksAirsoft Its a deep rabbit hole, I'm part of an airsoft extreme long range forum on facebook and its mind boggling. Ultimately, quality is king. Quality leads to consistency, consistency allows for repeatable accuracy. Flatter trajectory and more range means nothing if its not predicatable- which is why I've stuck with the stock TM rubber in my MWS with great results. Hope the pizza was good dude!
@@spenser5762 yeah it was actually thanks. Yeah when it starts with lapping and microns it all gets a bit much, respect to the guys who do it though, some of the results people get are undeniable. I'm just happy with practical accuracy but as you said consistency is very much key!
oi ollie , i have a little question , you tinhk is if good combination the crazy jet 370mm with laylax red leve and brown rubber ? i not know a lot but i bought a 370 crazy jet and not secure if is good combi for red leve/brown rub.
@@OllieTalksAirsoft 👍 do you happen to know if the maple leaf buckings are compatible with the laylax mws barrel? I'm still going back and forth between that barrel or a crazy jet lol, was thinking maybe like a 300mm crazy jet or the 370mm 6.03 from laylax
@@shockwave.9749 As long as you get the VSR spec bucking you'll be fine. The longer barrel will up your FPS more so it's more about that than anything else really, trying to stay within the site limits.
This makes me laugh, you really have no idea how small one hundredth of a millimeter actually is, when you're talking about dirt getting in and a 6.02 vs 6.03mm barrel you're talking about 5 thousandths of a millimeter difference either side of the BB, in other words 5 microns, the manufacturing tolerances of most airsoft BB's is one hundredth of a millimeter so are you worrying about that when you buy your ammo or the tighter barrel, the real reason behind what you are explaining is the air cushion, the BB doesn't really touch the inner barrel of the gun but sits surrounded by an air cushion with the hop up doing all the work for accuracy, any difference in accuracy that you have seen between one barrel and another is probably down to manufacturing tolerances more than anything else.
