I make this fight look easy; probably because it is?
Level 35, with up to Level 33 armor and the same weapons from fighting Skeith!
Innis is known as The Mirage of Deceit, also known as "the Untargetable phase when you NEED to Data Drain"
That's it. That's it's entire gimmick. Compared to Skeith, this thing is only frustrating if you let it move. So if you have any problems fighting it, it's because you're letting it move!
Common things people always failed to neglect about this fight are:
1) Innis has Magic Tolerance. So if you love Wavemasters... it's not their time to fight still.
2) Innis only deals a fraction of Skeith's damage and has less physical defense (Barrage him with CRITS!)
3) If you picked a team like mine from the Skeith battle, you dont even need to upgrade equipment or level up (although you may go up due to the RNG battles prior) Still, I was level 32 fighting Skeith, 34 after beating the extra content. So level 35 was unfortunately the lowest I could go from carrying on my previous save.
4) Innis must be hit in a way that doesn't force it to use a spell. If it does, Innis has a habit of restoring its Data Protection after its spell with untargetable frames, prolonging the fight. It's really a trial/error situation but doing burst physical basic damage helps. If you hit it with a skill, not only do you lock yourself out of data draining, but it also distances itself from you and the timer is active whilst being untouchable.
5) Strengthen/Buff skills are still not necessary, but if you have it, boost you physical attack magic defense, physical accuracy and fire/water/light elements. If you use Ap Do /Speed Charms, it is a waste of time/money and does NOT contribute anything to the battle aside from making you think you're moving/hitting faster!
Strong offense is ALWAYS better than a strong defense!
