I am amazed how they send like a swat team in plain cloth with maybe 1 officer in uniform for just 1 snow blower...... I say just 1 officer in uniform could of handle the situation without having shot fired or arresting anyone with simple communication. (1) Not everything requires a “no knock” warrant approach. It isn’t like you can flush a snowblower. (2) Why ransack the house? Are they going to hide a snowblower in a drawer?

This made me cry. Unless their search warrant covered this woman’s uterus, or they had reason to believe she was hiding gift cards in her birth canal, the police had no right to do what they did to her. And let’s suppose the husband actually was guilty of gift card fraud worth a few hundred dollars: that justifies sending several armed officers to their home, ransacking and damaging their house when they know exactly where the blower is, and treating his pregnant wife this way? Isn’t judgment and punishment supposed to be handed down by a judge or jury or at least a prosecutor? What in the constitution or other law gives the police the authority to do this to people? I don’t think the judge would sign off on the search warrant if they knew this is what the police would do with it.

It was about suspecting gift card fraud. Because the guy went online and bought 20+ different gift cards with his credit card, then he went into a store and bought a snow blower... Why not just buy the snow blower? People pulling scams buy gift cards with the money they stole and then go shopping so it can't be traced. It was a suspicious purchase. That doesn't explain why his wife was punished though. It's not about the snow blower, it's about the pre paid gift cards. If it had been one or two gift cards it likely would not have set off any concerns.

I walked around the corner to my apartment once there was a dog that made me excited and back away in fear quickly and he started to come after me. The landlord said it was the neighbors dog and introduced us and we were cool after that. Predators often feel like attacking during that reaction like an instinct. These guys make people afraid and then when you respond like you would to a threat they blame it on you.

Good on MN to give some dignity to pregnant prisoners and detainees. There have been such horror stories about the mistreatment of them it's insane. That said, it's ridiculous that someone's life can be ruined over a "mistake" (or what I think is just racism in this case since it was automatically assumed the guy stole it, and the cops behaved the way they did) and being innocent. There needs to be laws that demands a person that is declared innocent and/or not charged to get their job back (within a reasonable timeframe), or at least make it illegal to fire them until they are convicted (depending on the crime).

The woman ended up with a $500,000 lawsuit settlement over being unlawfully shackled. I think they still have other lawsuits pending over the bogus arrest and search and damages to their lives. The officers involved weren’t disciplined except for the one in plain clothes, who got a mere three day suspension. The county released a statement saying they hold their officers to a higher standard. I think their lack of discipline for what was colossal incompetence and breaking the law themselves, says differently. The husband lost his job because of their wrongful actions but they get to keep theirs.

This is common practice by Maple Grove Police. The county settled with this couple for $500,000 without going to trial because I'm sure they must have realized they were going to lose a lot more. If the police have any brains, they would quietly settle, make a public apology and remove this from the husband's record. It would not do any harm to retrain these officers to ensure such a thing never happens again. A baby nearly died because of this unnecessary shackling. If the officers have a fetish for BDSM fantasies, save it for their off-duty time. The fact remains that 2 innocent people were arrested and somebody screwed up. The advice to take away is don't use credit notes online, buy with a credit card. That way any refunds will have to go back onto the card. It would also show on the receipt and give purchase protection if it was over £100.

I’m standing at my door looking at the paperwork and the house number is mine but not the street. They wouldn’t listen. To them I was just a thief. When they eventually realized they made a mistake they came back, literally threw down the VCR and left. No apology or anything. Now the police work to repossess merchandise assumed stolen. Huh, we are all living under corporate corruption.

Cold Spring Police and Stearns County Sheriff falsely jailed me over a traffic ticket. This is long but I wish a news channel would expose this ongoing corruption in Stearns County and Cold Spring police department. So I will write it here since this video is similar and sick of police just getting away with it and continuing. Attorney laughing? Inappropriate! My bad warrant was quashed after the damage was done to me and time had passed that I had to sit in jail when I should have been attending a wedding, at home with my children, and working. It affects me mentally as I had to sit in a holding cell with two other women for 72 hours. I take a number of medication for medical issues since 2006 with one medication causing severe withdrawal after only 24 hours of not taking it. I fought for my meds while in jail and asked if I could bring them when they corrupt police swarmed my home unannounced at 730 pm. Nope I was refused my medication. And no nurse could monitor my withdrawal. Why? Because I asked while in jail and they will tell me if I need to see the nurse while I’m in THEIR jail I don’t tell them that I need a nurse. So because I asked I was never monitored by a nurse. If a dr knew I abruptly quit taking the medication they would admit me to a hospital because cold turkey stopping would kill me. Lucky for me it didn’t . Humiliated in front of my neighbor’s in the tiny town of Richmond, MN. worse cuffed in front of my 9 month old and 5 year old in the middle of supper. Woops Stearns county just made an administrative error. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just say oops when I could have died in jail? It’s one thing if I deserved to be in jail but no way did I! I lost over 16 hours of work at two jobs, lost one job but begged for it back and I got it back. But to this day people say that just doesn’t happen in regards to being arrested and left to sit in jail without medical help for 72 hours if I didn’t do anything wrong! I have the quashed warrant to prove it! They took my mug shot (horrible picture too that’s a whole different story) and put it online for future employers etc to see with one click online . States I was arrested and jailed for something that is due to an administrative error. I tried to get them to take my arrest off the internet and they refuse. So people who don’t realize corruption is real and right in their own state of MN, they think I’m hiding something when I say it was a bad arrest. Stearns County made an administrative error resulting in a body warrant for 72 hours in Stearns County Jail over a traffic ticket that was already paid and taken care of. My mother had to blow up at George Lock the head guy in administration for me to get a call where he apologized and said “we dropped the ball”. I will never be the same again and haven’t been since. I remember clearly when they beat on our door unannounced and rang the doorbell and my husband and I answered. What if he was downstairs with his headphones on and I was in the shower? My kids watching cartoons. Sick ain’t safe in our own house anymore even. I get triggered every time someone knocks or rings our doorbell unannounced. Sick the trauma and lasting effects I know am just forced to live with! And look at this situation in the video things are getting worse. At least this family will get compensation. I got zero and have a mugshot following me around the rest of my life. Sadly attorney told me I have to be severely harmed to file a lawsuit. And physically I’m fine, mentally and emotionally I still have nightmares about it and worse I live in fear because I lived through just a little bit of what many people I’m certain are living through today wrongly arrested or wrongly accused. I understand this can happen to me again and next time it may be worse I could end up in a body bag as I was refused all my medication while in jail over Stearns county’s error. To this day that whole situation labeled me in this tiny judgmental community. Cops wouldn’t even show up to help me or take my report when my life was threatened by an ex who is psychotic. I even sent the text the next day to the chief of police after I initially called about this threat to my life April 2021. I thought they must not believe me that my ex is threatening me again (a restraining order expired just days before against my ex and he wasted no time he still harassed me and my son at his school but who do I call for help? Cops don’t come). This chief of police stated he would respond. Four days later silence I even reached out to an officer in that time asking if the chief forgot about responding to my call for help. I was told via email the chief would respond soon. Nope never did! Few days later I sent another email and said forget it so much had happened in between in the harassment it didn’t pay it was messy and confusing even for a police report. Sad world when you live feeling fearful because no one is there to actually help me if I’m in danger and worse they come and make my life hell and ruin it when I’m a law abiding citizen just trying to make it in the world .

This is one of the many reasons we need to get rid of qualified immunity for Police Officers in the country. And judicial reform. The whole situation is messed up. And then the fact they ransacked the whole house looking for the snowblower knowing it’s not inside the house, it’s in the garage or shed. Is that part of their policy, they claim they follow so strictly? Hope they sue for 20 million. But the sad fact is these cops will not pay or face one consequence. It will all be the taxpayers.
