Green light means ur car is ready to do smog and pass, the yellow light means the car is readin all the codes to see if the car is ready to go or not, the red means u have a code or a few
I went to smog my car and was told they couldn’t connect to car. So I went and a bought a scanner and it connected and gave me a yellow light. So I drove it till the cat o2 and evap stopped and I got a green light. So I’m hoping when I take it today it connects I have no check engine 0 DTC what my reader told me.
Excellent video. I have a question for you. I have a 2012 Rogue with a MAF problem p01 01 code. The Nissan dealer replaced the MAF. I replaced the air cleaner. I did not replace the PCV valve yet. The dealer I go to tells me they cannot fix the problem any more than they have because they do not have a Master Technician??? I am going to have to travel a ways to get a dealer with a Master Technician. The engine light has gone on twice now. It is supposedly fixed now. If not and the light goes on again and the car seems to run fine I want to turn off the engine light. I purchased a Walmart Hyper Tough HT 100 code reader. It is not much on instructions. It connects with your phone via Blue Tooth to give an explanation of the code. I do not need an explanation and I just want to turn off the engine light. My question is, do I have to use the Blue Tooth feature with the HT 100 or can I just plug it to the plug in the car, turn the ignition to on, read the code, and push the red button to clear the code?? Hi Tom, so sorry for getting back to you late. I had a Blue tooth Code reader once upon a time, but it was so long ago, I forgot how it worked. If you are still having issues with your light coming on, disconnect your car battery for about 5 minutes and then reconnect. That should stop the light to come back on. Keep in mind that if your car has the same issues or if it has another issue, your light may come back on. I hope my suggestion was helpful.
Is this the same as the Walmart ht-100 when I look for user manuals and things like that for the code reader I have I can't find anything but there's plenty of information on the 3011 did they sell them to Walmart
If you turn on ignition without starting car it should work fine. It will even work if you start the vehicle, bur not necessary. However, if your Innova is reading an error each time, you may have a bad connection issue. Your Innova Reader may be bad or, your connector port.

Cleaned throttle body after P2101 code and "check engine" dash light went out. Tested with Innova and receive yellow light and 0 DTC display with all but 2 icons flashing. Pushed "erase" and got green light with 0 DTC. Test again and I'm back to yellow light 0 DTC with icons flashing. What am I doing wrong? PLEASE HELP!
It’s been happening to me also on other things. I don’t think you are doing anything wrong. After clearing my code, it comes back on saying the same issue even though it is fixed. It’s usually because of another problem or the same issue. Flashing yellow usually means pending.
Ones u fix replace all the problems then erase the codes , the light will go from red to yellow and if is all good the light will turn green but u have to drive ur car a couple of miles for that
