Innova Power Check 5420 Honest Opinion. 

I’ve been a mechanic for 20 years and I can say with certainty the power probe is ok quality but not as accurate vs the innova. Also the “ pistol “ mode is the best thing about it. I do wish it had a mute though!

Shop told me today that Autozone wouldn't accept the unit as a return because it was already used. I have to keep it in my van as a spare to my main power probe :(.

“The built-in automatic circuit breaker and 10MegOhm impedance helps keep the tool and parts safe while testing.” From your testing of it, do you believe this to be true ? I have a hard time trusting a breaker that doesn’t have to be manually reset.

Let's buy a product, use it and try to return it.

If you still check the comments, which power probe do you recommend for the DIY from the cheapo Ebay or Amazon brands? Thanks.

It's an automatic resetting circuit breaker. The back of the box states that. I would rather have a manual reset but....

If you short it out there's no circuit breaker on the innova. It says " has a built in automatic breaker " it doesn't work

No offence buddy but to me that looks cheap and nasty. A good while back when I was looking to upgrade my probe, I looked at quite a few different options but eventually settled on the Autel PS100. Feels quite good in the hand when in use and has been a great addition to my test gear, one of the things I like with the Autel is that it came with 2 cables so has plenty of length for commercial vehicles as well.
