What about the use of Enbrel (etanercept) for stroke recovery? Some success is being seen by injecting etanercept at the the base of the brain. Institute of Neurological Recovery. What haven't clinical trials been conducted in the US? They are being done in Australia at Griffin University. We NEED this study in the US????

first thing is get off all meds.. Dr's are clueless. go all grain and sugar free. Keep it moving. Think about moving your limbs even when you can't or when just laying there. I was told I'd never walk, talk or live past a year. I do all. walk, talk, and much more.. Nov 18th was my major pons stroke. it's Oct 8th 2017. so much for that dying within a year...
I wonder if it's vitamin K2 mk-7 or serrapeptase or nattokinase or all of the above I wish you had told as a name of it not many people anymore can afford to go to the doctor. But I know those three I mentioned if you look them up on RU-vid you'll be surprised what they do for a stroke and clogged arteries.
This is a picture of me, in the middle. I have had 9 full strokes and loads of mini ones but I am still here, thank God.. Not to say I don't have some deficiencies since. It was writing problems and now it is memory.
My question would be . I am 68 years of age. and lately I have numbness in my toes and my right leg goes numb, after sending up for more than 5 minutes, right till the groin, and starts to give a burning sensation.. I have to quickly sit down and it passes, now l lately my foot is losing its grip on the shoe , and also I have started to get a stiff neck, which I have never had in my life and there is now a numbness in the smaller finger of my rt hand , also last couple of days my left foot has a swelling on the top side of my little finger, my question is are these slowly growing symptoms as a progression towards a stroke as I feel the circulating from my toes to the head is getting hampered, is this red flag for a stroke? I have no diabetes nor ever been patient for high BP, only since last couple of months my balance is gone bad also, can peripheral neuropathy lead to a stroke (I have not gone for any diagnosis so far)

Absolutely true, i experienced a stroke in 2001, survived but noticed my critical mathematical rhinking was impaired. I heard of local doctor Steinblock in Mission Hills, CA who may help. I was able to do 10 treatments in chamber over several weeks, which had been very successful in my recovery. Very helpful and happy for this successful treatment. Many thanks to God, my father for paying for it, and the doctor who understood very well this process.
not only i am under 65 i had no medical nor family history so i still donyt know why it happened.. thank god i was with my sisters who were quick to see half of my face droop and called 911.. i felt nothing at all ..
I had a hemorragic stroke about 6-7" above my right eye in 2013. I was blessed to have fairly quick ambulance service to a nearby K.P. Hospital. I don't know what happened for the next 10 days that brought me back with no complications. As a 70 y.o. female, I 've almost always had low to average B.P., somewhat high bad cholestrol but developed peripheral neuropathy with numbness especially in my feet. The doctors never tested me for a fib but wanted me to take my B.S. every morning. My new doctor said it wasn't needed because I'm ok. The neurologists said if I have another annurism, they will put in a stent. What advice can you add to what doctors have already advised?
I have had 3 strokes in the total of 2 years. the first one nobody found me for about 24 hours. I literally couldn't move anything! I couldn't even roll over my body couldn't lift my weight. I couldn't talk at ALL! When I finally made it to the hospital, the Dr. said that was the best I was going to be and she didn't send me to therapy. Well, after 3 weeks in the hospital, I told them I'm going home! Which I kept my word! There was nobody there to drive me home, so I walked ALL night by myself! (I didn't have any money and I couldn't remember any body phone #s. WELL, 8 months later I DROVE to the hospital and in my stilleto heels I WALKED up to my Dr. and SAID...you should have sent me for therapy because YOU never know the person's abilities!! She was stunned!! I'm saying all of this to give the encouragement that stroke victims REALLY NEED!!! DON'T EVER TAKE THE ADVICE OF A DOCTOR WHO DOESN'T KNOW YOU OR THE THINGS YOUR CABABLE OF!! I DIDN'T!! She wanted me to always be a wheelchair, unable to speak, unable to walk, just be a complete vegetable!! So, if you make your mind up you can conquer anything! I DID AND SO CAN YOU!!

I had a stroke earlier this year, A right basel ganglia hemorrhage. I was told it happened because of a spike in my blood pressure, I wish I knew how this happened and why so I can be more preventative in the future, I believe I received great aftercare, and with a lot of determination and help from the staff at the rehab centre where i was i was able to leave after a month and a half. ( the first 3-4 weeks after the stroke I have no knowledge of what was happening, despite many friends calling me to talk to me during the day.) I feel I am one of the lucky ones, it could have been a lot worse. One of the questions that is bugging me is how will this effect my ability to go diving in the future, Some say I will be never to instruct or go diving again, some say I will have to be cautions..........Who has expert knowledge about a stroke and its effects on future diving......Thanks for your answers Thank you for this great video clip and putting some perspective in the world of knowledge about strokes.
dear shary divers, hi , sir ,,, thanks to God that you are O.K now ... and i hope you will be always healthy to come back to diving againg... i think im not the approoriate person to respond to ur questions , but i will speak about my experience ,,, and then you may find smthing that interesting... i m 33 years old ,about 17 months ago,when i was playing a soccer game, i had a hemmorrhagic stroke , i got into a coma for smdays,,, then i started recovering ,,, day after day i became better ,,, i m still following my doctors' advice and always respect the rendez-vous, and more importantly , take my medecines as it should be.... (zanidip to regulate any high blood pressure, and depakine preventively to avoid any propable seizure...) now i m very fine,,, one among my doctors "a neuro-cardiologist" when i ask her if i can go back to practising sport and playing football,,, she always advise me to avoid that ,,, she told me walking quickly,,, is very benificial for me ,,, she told me that a violent sport ar activity may increase my blood pressure strongly ,,, and this will represent a risk to my health.... i m trusting my doctors , and i m following their advice ,,, because after my God's mercy, they were a cause of my cure... thank , for giving this chance to share with you my experience,,,, i hope you found smthing intersting to you...
Hello Hamza Salem, Thank you very much for sharing what happened to you. When my stroke happened I also was in a coma for a few days and then slowly recovered. Right now after about 6 months all is good, Although I currently have a heavy feeling in my legs, I did find out that quit some people who have had a stroke are back to diving again. However I am worried and will be cautious about going due to the high pressure I will be in hen going underwater. And since the high pressure is what caused the stroke to begin with I will definitely ask "permission" of an expert, I need to find a neurologist who is specialized in Diving Medicine. I too take medication to control my blood pressure ( lisipril ) and my Pressure is very good and low as it is expected of course. Anyway, thank you for your response and I wish you a positive road to recovery, looks like you are in good hands and are taking the right advice of your own neurologist. There are many wheels left to be invented and for sure you will find your wheel, and are able to "invent" a way to do one sport or another. Here in the Dominican Republic I have taken up the number three sport practiced by the locals....Dominoes....and I love it. Ciao Jerry
My dad had a minor stroke in Pakistan and the doctor gave him medicines and didn't admit him can you believe it ,and he got worse overnight he is disabled now he got worse 😰
Great discussion and explanation not only of what a stroke is, but what treatments are available. The endovascular procedure saved my mom two days ago. She had a massive stroke and within a matter of hours she went from the stroke, to paralysis and major impairment to the removal of the blockage and the almost complete reversal of the paralysis and impairment. It was unbelievable to witness first hand the advancement in medicine. My family is so thankful to the surgeon Dr. William Mack, his team and everyone at USC Keck Medical center for saving my mom.

My mom had a stroke five days ago. Im here looking for some answers and some hope. She can recognize me but she cannot speak and her right side is paralyzed. Im in despair and dont know what to do next.

+wotan237 My mom had a massive stroke three weeks ago. She wasn't taken to the hospital until the next morning. She can't speak, eat, walk and not moving her right arm at all. She sleeps through therapy. Is your mom better? I am so worried and would love to hear that she is doing better. We need hope.
K.O. McLeod So sorry to hear about your mom. My mom was 79 when she had the stroke, unfortunately she succumbed to the aftereffects and died four months later, on March 31 this yr.... After the stroke, I did a lot of research online, and presented the doctor with a list of things to do- give her large doses of vitamin C, Zinc, vitamin E, and Fish oil ( 2,000 mg or more) , plus a multi vitamin..all crushed and put into apple sauce.... after about one week, my mom perked up, she become much more alert, enough to really enjoy watching her favorite TV shows....( she still could not talk or move,, though). She lasted four months, and it was probably the bedsores that finally did her in., so watch out for those, keep her rotated on the bed as often as possible. One thing I wanted to try for my mom but only had very limited success with was HEMP OIL. I tried giving her hemp oil ( not hemp seed oil, there is a difference) on my own, my research indicated that it might help....I would put it in her ice cream but she could still taste it and would then stop eating. I still wonder if I had been more open about it to her maybe she would have agreed to eat it, but at the time it seemed certain that she would have balked. I also wonder if her fish oil dose were larger she would have improved more, but we will never know. I hope you have more success with your mom. Remember to watch for bedsores, she needs to consume enough protein to build up her skin, you said she is not able to eat, so Im guessing she is on an IV ? One more thing, watch out for the staff at the hospital and the esp. the nursing home, we had mom in a typical average nursing home, the staff actually went out of their way to deny the existence of the bedsores, this was kept from us until the end, what was happening was that the midnight shift never did anything, they never rotated her or changed her or anything, they were very negligent because they think they are working midnight shift and they have little supervision, the quality of these workers is very low too. Ok, thats about all I have right now, I would like to hear back from you and i hope you mom does improve it would mean much to me to learn she is better so take care , bye for now.
it is good this is on you tube. i have had a stroke and its hard to get help after stroke. is anything there i can do to help my problem. wish i was given advice a couple of years ago as my heart was not beating properly. and i was having high blood pressure.
Very helpful to restore brain function even after months after episode. Not cheap but worth every moment and dollar. Worth checking out all resources to help someone in need.
The migraine may be a symptom of the the actual issue. If you have an aneurysm that ruptures it will cause the worst headache of your life. The rupture will then cause strokes which can be life threatening.

I have a little speak problem everyone I talked to asked if I am drinking I go no after stroke started started to go to my Left side where I couldn't bring myself back up from right side seat up
My Mum just had two strokes recently and they did an ultra sound on her carotid artery. It was completely blocked and they said that they were not going to open it because there was to high a risk of a further stroke. Please comment.

Get a good therapist. I had a massive stroke after a surgery to my carotid artery. I ended up in comma for 4 weeks. After 5 weeks of hospitalized rehab, I started working on my own. Six years past, I kept doing self administered therapy guided by a therapist. I can walk without a can. Now, I'm working on my hand. You're young. You'll keep improving until the final curtain call. I had a stroke 3.5 years ago at 45 years old, so I am constantly researching for treatment s I have been in physical therapy and occupational therapy for 3.5 years and hit a wall in my progress, but I am not ready to give up and say well this is it, medical treatments are changing and improving all the time, so it’s your responsibility to continue to research new treatments and the best doctors in my area, luckily I am close to UCSF University Stanford is doing a lot of stroke research- luckily for me I am totally willing to be a guinea pig for research, you never know it might be the breakthrough! More and more young people as in under 5 are having strokes these days kids as young as teens are having them now, know the signs! Know the risks. They blame everything on smoking of course, but that’s not the only risk , weight, diet, a fib genetics, clotting disorders, high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol. and others please do some research. Please I don’t want anyone’s to go through this it’s horrible and l a life long altering disease. teamcougars I now lives near UCSF San Francisco, I had a stroke a little more than 2 years ago when I was 53, now I am 55. I still am seeing a acupuncture doctor more 8 months & I am walking way better than before. Chinese massage therapy helped my arm at least 20% also, don’t give up, kept moving. You will see some results.
Great video but he's only discussing ischemic strokes (Clots). Strokes can also be caused by ruptured aneurysms within the brain. Treatment for hemorrhages as well as aneurysms differ from what is being discussed.
@@MuzixMaker It was 5 years ago that I commented but you're right, hemorrhages and aneurysms as well as their treatment was discussed after the timestamp you mentioned. At the time of my original post my mother had just suffered from a massive brain aneurysm and I was a bit of a scatter brain at the time.
