I applaud the State of Florida and their Judiciary for holding their Judges accountable. Though a public reprimand may not appear to be much, at least there is an attempt to keep their Judges mindful that they are not above the law and that the ethical standards established for Judges will not be trampled on. Now if other states will take a hint from Florida's lead. ARE YOU LISTENING VIRGINIA??????
Yes, me too. I think this is an Honorable act on behalf of all the judges on that podium and keeps integrity along with trust in our people for our Justice System.
@James G point being, as long as Judge's are unaccountable to the public they serve, the police will be as well. All three branches of government need to be brought back to a place where they answer to the public "they serve". When those at the top are called to account for their misdeeds, those in the middle (the police) will have no choice but to realize that they are not exempt from the same laws and accountability as the rest of us.
You must be joking! The rest of the country uses Florida’s Judicial System as a “what not to do”. Look no further than homeowners insurance litigation.
@@iamethanmiller As to American "Bullshit", if you can find a country with a better system, move your junky ass there. If you had bothered to read my comment, I said a public reprimand is not much, but at least it's some form of discipline. As to judges being the sole parties involved in innocent people being sent to prison, they are not but again, you flap your gums without pointing out a country with a better system. When you make it out of your mother's basement and are abused by a person in authority, then perhaps you might have grounds to speak about the people in power. Until then keep your comments about this country Civil, after all it is the place that allows you to run your mouth about something you have never experienced without repercussions.
Right!!!!!! I was waiting for him to get to whatever unethical behaviour she engaged in and when he mentioned “speeding ticket” I was like “what, what! They broadcast to the entire state of Florida that she had a speeding ticket”!
Man they got those judges in FL walking straight lines lol bless their hearts, and nobody wanna be on that long list, muchos menos las segunda más corta
Well.... Think of all the people who BITCH about people in higher positions *NOT* being reprimanded... _THIS IS FOR THEM._ Now they can't complain as much because when something happens "even as simple as a speeding ticket, and not disclosing it." Haha, they get reprimanded. I personally think it's pretty elementary, but there are so many people who want to _SEE_ what's going on with people in certain public positions (like judges), so now they get called before the public, to be filmed AND BROADCASTED to the public, for ALL OF THE PUBLIC to see. If you think about it, it actually keeps then accountable. If they are going to be publicly reprimanded for things like speeding tickets, can you imagine what would happen for something worse? It's all about ethics and being held accountable.
a judicial reprimand is a career killer. Appointed judges who are seeking reappointment are denied. Elected judges lose the next election. Most reprimanded judges resign
Wait...all of this over a speeding ticket? If someone asked me about my driving record and I said it was great, I wouldn't think that a speeding ticket would nullify that? This is such a complete waste of time and resources
As a most high PUBLIC authority, the ONLY action as consequences for violating the law intentionally, must be, IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM PUBLIC service-permanently.
@Caleb P fired, and if its a major offense they should be put in prison for a while. She’s a judge, it’s not just “a job.” She has power over people’s lives. You don’t want a liar there
Not for getting a speeding ticket- for hiding it. The committee questioned her about it- and she hid it. Lying is like murder for any lawyer- including judges.
@@JenniferFordEsq thank u.. why people think this is some minor infraction is just dumb to me. She’s not a random worker she’s a judge. Not only are the standards high but the consequences for lying in that position are detrimental. She should be fired
All this theatrics over a speeding ticket? This is the problem that happens when judges are elected. That is the Supreme Court of Florida? What a major league judicial joke.
It is about dishonesty. And this judge is obviously too obsessed with being seen as perfect. If she lies about this little thing, she will lie for sure when it's a big issue.
Wait a minute. She received a citation that morning but had not yet gone to court and had been convicted. There was nothing on her record yet. I would have answered the same unless they asked her if she had ever been pulled over by the police, which I doubt.
@fairsfair: Ohhh My ! We both must be old since you called it and I remember it. Heah Come De Judge...Laugh In....LOL !!! Pig Meat Markham is not forgotten.
I have never liked this judge. I already knew she was rude, and obnoxious. So I’m not surprised to discover she is also unethical. She should be fired. You could tell by the daggers she was staring through that judge, that she is pissed beyond words. She believes the law doesn’t apply to her.
A liar by omission is still a liar, When you are in front of this judge try it and after you have severed time she gives you, we'll talk about it again.
Why should you say that you should be dealing with these kind of issues daily! The bullies with power XXXX citizens daily!! You LOVE the power! NO you don't go after the bullies with power, you just want to make it look good!!
Nope... if you watch the video you will hear it's about not being truthful. She was dishonest when questioned about her driving record. They could care less about the actual speeding ticket.
@@4jewtube who cares! They could have paid tue $5 to pull her abstract form the DMV! To waste so much time and money over a stupid traffic ticket is insane!
@@robmullin1128 Who cares if a Judge is truthful? I bet your opinion would differ if she was presiding over a civil or criminal case that involved you! She hide information when questioned and in a later interview admitted she didn't provide that information when she should have. That's cut and dry and a judge should know better. We must be able to trust our judges! If you had done that in her courtroom and she found out about it what do you think she would have done to you? Held you in criminal contempt of court? Charged you with perjury?
They are supposed to divulge them, but she hid it from the committee... intentionally. That's like lying in court to the judge. WTF do you think happens if you do that in the court? You are fist fucked. All she got was a public reprimand and nothing else. Now she is a chief judge.
State attorneys who pursued Clemente beyond any reasonable rationale should be put in prison for the same amount of time Clemente served. It’s only fair. And old Jess can join them.
@Mark W let me start over. Her driving record has nothing to do with her ability to be a judge. However lying about it does. That's all. Thanks for playing.
This dumb judge decides to hide something so petty that would never have prevented her from being nominated. Obviousy she wants the perfect image and will hide anything in future. That is why this little thing is so important.
Wait…..this was over an unreported speeding ticket! I thought it was going to be something salacious! What a waste of tax payer money, publicly reprimand someone who ACTUALLY does something egregious, not stupid speeding tickets.
She’s done much worse bud. I doubt this was resulting from one little infraction over a speed ticket. Regardless, a judge who lies is not a good judge, especially when it comes to their work. She doesnt need to be reprimanded she needs to be fired. Find a better judge
No, that's Florida, Judges are allowed to lie their ass off, at least the judge I had did ! William Slaughter, Live Oak Florida's, Good ole boys court !
