Beast Wars megatrons' early design has the trex head split into shoulders, which coincidentally looks like bayverse grimlock's shoulders

I love looking at concept art, feels almost like a glance to another reality. You should do more of these going forward

2:25 the design reminds me greatly of the Age of Extinction Grimlock with the dino head on both shoulders somehow and just the overall spikiness

2:09 the drawing in the upper left for Megatron reminds me a lot of the Transformers Prime design for the character especially the chest/torso it’s almost 1:1

I really like that Rampage, and honestly Walking Arsenal Cheetor looks cool in that 90's "put a gun on a gun that shoots guns" mentality.

Damn, that triple changing Dinobot raptor/cobra is sick as hell as well as the shark/cat Cheetor. What we did end up getting was awesome, but man were we robbed of some amazing designs.

Hah, hah, I remember having the Manta and black panther one way back in the day. And at 4:40, you can see all the elements that made it into the original toy and I love seeing that. The beast mode chest flap, the buttons on the thigh plates, the hinge at the toes

It’s also a little odd seeing concept art that shows how wildly different things could’ve been. It’s easy to forget that the designs we see had multiple iterations before arrival at the ones we see at the end, whether it’s slight or insanely big.

My favorite early beast wars concept is the sea turtle Megatron. Dumbest thing ever, absolutely love it

That Megatron concept totally should have been used for a POTP Evolution figure, but with pre-dino Megatron and TM2 Megatron.

Really cool designs! Hopefully some 3rd Party companies follow this channel, because seeing a triple-changing Cheetor with a shark mode was inspiring! Also, if I recall correctly; BW was originally going to be set in the modern-day (circa 1990s) with the Bat Optimus Primal (which came in the two-pack with crocodile Megatron) being G1 Optimus Prime. Since the toys were made by Kenner, who also made the BTAS toys, the Bat Optimus Prime/Primal was designed as Batman homage. On the show, Optimus Primal was originally going to start off as a bat who would later become a Gorilla; hence why Optimus Primal can fly on the show despite transforming into a land animal.

That Optimal Optimus land vehicle mode is fantastic! I want an updated Op Op with that design. He doesn't even have to be a quadruple changer. Just that mode, gorilla, and robot would be fine.

Really hope some of these get figures man, genuinely some of the most awesome designs I’ve ever seen

6:36 damn you perspective end! This takes the best maximal/second best predicon (best is waspinator), and the worst predicon in the form of quick strike, and make it the most badass fusions ever. Why would you curse us with the knowledge that this will never happen.

They should of saved some of theses for other transformera shows

That crab looking helicopter could make for a decent transmetal scorponok design like the tail splits to be the blades, legs for the back, and the rest is the cockpit with the claws having sometype of fold down weapon mode

That t-rex fusing Megs looks kinda like prime Megs with some gyver touches.

That lion bat thing at 4:17 looks a lot like the Beast Machines lion, perhaps this inspired it

4:17, that beast mode is a manticore. A monster from folklore whose name literally translate to "man-eater".

I've seem the art of that jellyfish guy before, and really love it. Like possibly the only Beastie I'd still buy, having picked up WFCK Waspinator than RotB (main line!!!) Airazor. Well, maybe Transmetal Waspinator too if they got the legs to be less annoying in robot mode than the original; given his comic relied status he was never going to get that upgrade but it was easily my favorite toy of the entire continuity and one of the ones I most regret losing to a house fire.

maybe in the sequeal series to my seires, optimus's spark was secretly transfered into a shipsformers body, but he was knocked out in the process, and for years the main character have been unknownly using him as a there ride

*IF* Hasbro take these concept arts into Studio Series, I'd probably go bankrupt ooh btw, make more of this. It felts like the reversed roasting Transformers design

Fun fact beast wars was originally going to be a continuation of G1 The bat Optimus was meant to be Optimus and the alligator was Megatron OG Megatron but the beast wars show changed it to be about the maximal and predacons that’s why the concepts look so different from the finalized design

I like Optimus Prime as a Lion also I think Scorponok parallels Soundwave more. loyal and has a tiny partner that shoots out of him

Yes they need to make the cheetor triple changer, Dinobot triple changer and that optimus triple changer as well. Those concept arts are amazing. Hope they create those like they did with the concept art bumblebee toys

One of these days, I hope you review Transmetal Waspinator. Finding him at a thrift store was what got me into collecting in 2018. IMO, even though it's not very convincing, he does the Transmetal vehicle mode best, as it looks like a wasp got into a teleporter accident with an F-15

A jellyfish transformer? That would go so hard as a UFO shaped like one. With like harpoon cannons to resemble the tentacles. Hell, make it Cosmos for an even more JellyShip mode

Beast Wars did NOT start as McDonald's toys. The bat was the original first Optimus Primal in the actual Beast Wars toy line. The McDonald's toys was a cross promotion that came out after Beast Wars had already been a thing.

I'm surprised no third party company found these concept design and made figures of them but eyy I need hasbro to use these designs and make new figures into new characters

I actually really like Marvel Shockwave. He's genuinly my favourite version of the character. The Decepticons were actually winning under his leadership.

It's a fan theory that Optimus Primal was meant to be Optimus Prime. This was disproven YEARS ago. DECADES ago now, but people keep trying to pedal it. Optimus Primal was ALWAYS intended to be a new character, even when he was a bat.

These all look really dope, and I'm sad about how most of them were never finalized. Rattaps current design makes more sense though. Cheetor with built in guns goes so hard (even if he is more likely to shoot his friends with them). I feel like I have the sole of a 90s kid.
