This is still by far the best air show manevuer I've ever seen! It is rare when the RAPTOR gets permission to chuck flares while doing this... adds a layer of wow for sure. Comment down below if you've been able to see the RAPTOR before and if you have a jet you like better! And please remember to like, share, and subscribe!!!
It’s a cool move, useless in combat, and the practice flares are for show, looks cool. That’s about it though. 35 is a beast, I like fat Amy better honestly..
It's legit blowing my mind how this is even physically possible. The amount of thrust to go into a roll, but practically stopping at peak to the point the flares are passing the jet, while coming back to being on plane, in what? 250ft? Probably more like 750ft but it looks like it's within 500ft of elevation with ease.... The amount of flaps or direction of propulsion OR BOTH AT THE SAME TIME that would take.... Sweet Baby Jesus. With that said, I have zero days of fighter jet knowledge. Lol.
@@underleft Yes it is. The fact that it's in the air at all means it's defying gravity. Even if it's falling slowly like a leaf it's still defying gravity until it's back on the ground. More than one thing can be true at the same time.

It only show a small percentage of what the f22 can do. The pilots are order to hold the ture potential of the f22. If they show off to much they can be sent to jail
Dude, that's my dream as well. I visit year aftrr year the key west show here in FL, and this last one the F35 was operated by a young proud woman, gave me hope.... i wish one day my daughter can achieve the same goal... i can die right after and i will continue my path as the most happy ever Daddy....
Yep! That's why it has a "restrictor plate" cause if yo ask it to do something at M3, it will do it, stay in one piece, but the pilot may not. Would Need a robot to fly that one at full potential.
Ok so, quick fact: that is not a cobra manuever, it is a kulbit, its basically a loop but way more tighter Edit: Oh damn bro, come back after some time and there was a fight in the replies?
Yup, I believe a Cobra is where they are going forward and abruptly turn the nose up 90 degrees, slow down and then go back into level flight. I think the Swedish Draken were the first jet fighters to do the maneuver.
I saw an F-22, F-35, and P-51D Mustang flying in formation. The Mustang had the pedal to the metal and the other 2 were just above stall speed, but it was an amazing sight!
Hell yeah! Well said... Those heritage flights are always amazing/rare to see. So glad they've been able to keep some of the classics flying after all these years.
I’m sorry but your statement is incorrect. Top speed of a P 51 mustang is 450 miles an hour it has a ceiling of 40,000 feet which is pretty good for a propeller driven aircraft.
Instructor: "Alright, this'll be your first day in the F22. It'll feel a bit different than the T38 now, so when you get up there, just do a simple traffic pattern to get a feel for the controls." Student:
That flare manoeuvre outstanding a missile trying to take down that raptor is going to be confused and the raptor will get away and pursue its targets outstanding performance. I subbed to this channel and great performance by the pilot brought to you by the United States of America so proud.🇺🇸
Ooof. I don't know about that one. Certainly the most capable and it has a gorgeous figure, but sexiest? I'd have to say there are far sexier out there.
I’m a civilian who works with a lot of military personnel in my career and I’ve been told personally by multiple people that the F 22 displays a small margin of its true capability at air shows. It’s true capabilities are apparently far beyond what the public has seen.
Everything relevant to how the jet flies and its maneuverability is displayed at shows. Its the systems and system capabilities that can't be demonstrated at shows. That's true for most combat aircraft out there.
@@ericwieboldt7042lol so wrong on so many levels the su57 felon is a peace of junk from Russia. Only 10 fight worthy and 4 others incomplete not even enough for a squadron. That just shows how garbage thier economy is
@@aviation-action I feel like the dudes at Lockheed just designed the F-22 to be one of, if not THE best dogfighter solely as a flex. Dogfighting doesn’t exist anymore for western fighters. They can kill you from over the horizon,(at 30k/ft, the horizon is almost 215 miles away). “We can kill you the old school way if that’s what blows your skirt up…. After we annihilate your squadron, we can also push it in the back door of the last plane following “the old way”, just to demoralize anyone else in that wing who thinks they have even the slightest chance. No matter what philosophy you subscribe to for how people should be governed, pilots KNOW when they simply just can’t.
Russia does have some very scary technology but the f22 rapetor eats t14s a d migs for snacks between it's meals and the might dragon is just called that because they wanted it to seem scarey even tho its just a rip off or bought mig with a body kit so they can say its undetectable.
@@hVNC.
@aviation-action FYI it's actually not a Kulbit Maneuver since kulbit is just a tight radius loop that doesn't involve thrust vectoring. The F22's loop is essentially a "flip" which uses its thrust vectoring nozzles to do a flip, the USAF calls this the "Mongo Flip" and is a maneuver exclusive for the raptor. There are other special maneuvers developed for the raptor too, such as a variation of the cobra where instead of 90 degrees, the raptor uses its vectored thrust to go 140 degrees vertical and back. It's very interesting and absolutely wonderful to see.
Yeah - good question... I know a lot of fighters are good for like 10K hours or something... I think they do tests as well to make sure everything is holding up okay...
@@aviation-actionfr, they have 3d thrust vectoring and high maneuverability, but the f22 has only y-axis and still has the tightest maneuvers of all fighter jets 💀
Man I wish one day that I could fly an f22. What an absolute amazing humbling beast of engineering. This will probably be my only regret on my death bed. Not being able to fly an f22
Was built with a different kind of air superiority from what we think now wasnt it? To out perform any comers in a dog fight. F35 is definitely better to mass produce as an all around fighter now that we’re sure dogfights are (probably) in the past and that kinda sucks I guess.
No kidding? True story? Didn't think about that... your the first to comment about that... I've read several comments about flares getting into the engine
I had to watch this three times before I understood what was happening. I still don’t understand what I’m seeing. That plan is marvelous piece of engineering
Must have cleared a certain altitude to pull such a kick. It’s important to remember how much engineering went into such a craft. It’s important to recognize the sheer talent of this human pilot. 👌
@@aviation-action you can check videos from airshows and look how soviets do same on other jets around 25 years ago (Pugachev was that cool guy who invented this). First public demonstration - 1989 😂
Okay so to start I'll agree that the pilot has to have some skill to fly like that. But now that I've given the pilot his kudos, let's be real. The plane itself does most of the work.
I'm heading to Alaska next week for my annual return home to snowmachine with my friends. Heading to the central Alaska Range off the Denali Highway, which happens to be smack in the middle of the Fox III MOA. Raptors up high, and Aggressor F-16's flying nape of the earth right over head. It rustles this old AF veteran's jimmies.
The actual insane thing is that this is only a fraction of the capability of the airframe. Its' full potential isn't allowed to be demonstrated in air shows or taught to foreign pilots. Just the things the public is allowed to know and see is absolutely bleeding edge stuff, and it's safe to assume that this is capable of much more mind bending, physics defying maneuvers if you were to end up on the wrong side of its' guns
Seeing one of these fly around and do tricks for the first time a few years ago at an air show had me holding back tears in sheer amazement. It was like seeing something from an alien planet. Absolutely life changing and incredible. Words can’t even describe it. My mouth was agape and I couldn’t stop smiling, all while I felt my eyes get watery. I held it in because I was embarrassed lol but the feeling was overwhelming. So cool. Now I’m obsessed with them lol.
